I’ve learned over the many years of crocheting, that it doesn’t matter how you hold your yarn. As long as you have tension and the product turns out correctly. Some people have arthritis or other hand conditions, which prevent us from holding our needles certain ways. Happy crocheting with least amount of pain possible.💜💜

I learned as a child and I'm ambidextrous. So, learning left hand crochet and right hand crochet for my grandma and mom was tricky to teach me. They were both right-handed. I learned primarily right-handed. And you're so correct when you said it does not matter how to hold the hook/needle. My my grandma and mom always said as long as you're comfortable, there is no left hand or right hand, wrong or right, just comfort and controlling the tension of the yarn.

I finally made it for my mom in law ...did have problems in decrease and the count of rows for an adult head but kept chking size on her head also after decreasing from 3 dc to 2 dc I crochet for many rows to increase the length and only in the end reduced to one dc and then followed the last two rows as shown by you ...thank you for this lovely pattern

I love this hat! I think I used a bit thicker wool for it so I needed to make it longer than 69 (figured out it needs to be a number divisible by 3), but it still came out great, touching it feels amazing. I made one for my mom and will make one for myself too, including the fingerless gloves, which I don't even wear but I will start just because it feels so great to touch this pattern, some real asmr. Thanks for sharing this! :) Looking forward to your other videos, would love to see you make a buff one day.

Can it be done on not a circle crocheting but in one way, like for a scarf ?
You would have to end & tie off every row. Then start back on the RIGHT HAND side with the next row. You would not work the last few rows where decreases begin. YOU WOULD STILL NEED A BASE ROW WITH MULTIPLE OF 3.
Experiment. Not sure if the ridges would spiral like the hat. Interesting thought.
