I have about 6-7 layers but they were all glued down and became a single page. I could easily have made it like this. Next time!!!

I have a book that I use to play around with techniques, no page ever has to be finished, or match with the one before or shown to anyone, it's just a book to play with and build up your confidence. You can also take a page out and work on it, that way if you don't like it you don't have to keep it. If it comes out well you can stick it in the book. The most important thing to remember is to have fun, nothing in life has to be perfect! 💜

You could of printed the reverse image of the owl and then glued on the back of the owl...and when you flipped the owl over...it would be facing the next page😉🇺🇸

My first encounter with an altered book was in college (70's) and i found in the local bookstore The Humament. An altered book that made it into print. Always loved picture books and pop up books, origami, kirigami (I think thats the one cutting paper), stationery, wax seals for envelopes. BUT need to try my hand at it. I wish my art supplies weren't stolen.
Oh yes, I loved pop up books as a child and I think that may be where some of my inspiration has come from with these cut out pages. I love turning old books in to something new 💜

I got the craft knife from a model shop, I think it's really meant for cutting out tiny stickers to go on model aircraft but it works perfectly for the fine details! I'm afraid I can't find the packet it came in - if I do I'll come back and let you know :-)
