They were made for off road. It is where mine does its best work. But be warned…you will scratch it up and bang it up if you push it. The military guys have free parts. We have to pay for ours. Makes me timid sometimes but it is best when you let it rip!!!
Awesome! You need to bring it to Alaska and run with me so we can represent against all the Toyotas and Jeeps. Great looking truck. I’m in dire need of rock sliders. We were out last weekend and it beat them up!!!!! I’m subscribing!
This is amazing. What I find weird is, when I watch this I think "what an offroad beast." But the wheelbase is like 12" longer than a JLU. But I see a JLU on 38s and I think, "what a silly looking Jeep." I wonder why.
It's whats called "ball joint killer" offset. The only real wheel options that should be considered for the HMMWV and H1 are factory offset wheels that have the correct offset which loads the spindle bearings evenly inside the hub. Hope this gentleman has checked his spindle nuts.
@@nothingtoseaheardammit Interesting, I didn't know that. I had always heard that 06 Alpha's had a body lift to fit the Duramax, but I didn't know that the body lift went back to all turbo'd trucks too. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! Aluminum radiator, High Output factory water pump, new thermostat, new hoses, and lots of coolant flushes. The bed rack is a Westin Overland rack for a Toyota Tacoma that I modified to fit.
That's nice looking Humvee. What protection did you put between steel rock sliders and aluminum body? I was told that rock sliders might rust the body.
Thank you! I fully Rhino lined the truck prior to installing the sliders. The sliders were also fully coated inside and out with truck bed coating prior to being installed. Other than that, they are right up against the body.
I like that bed rack, who’s is it? Also do you have the red dot AC? How did you fill the holes from the armor being removed? I have too many questions😂
Thanks! The bedrack is a Westin Overland rack for a Toyota Tacoma. I had to modify it by cutting 5” out of the length and 3” out of the width to make it fit. Eventually I’d like to move the spare tire to a Rhino swing out on an airlift bumper and mount a rooftop tent on the top of the rack. I don’t have any AC yet but am looking at options. Mine was never up-armored, so I didn’t have any holes to fill. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
Yes he did. But I tell you that the camera seems to take elevation out and it never looks as bad as it really is when you go back and look at it on camera. I was leaning in and out on my couch watching him because those weee some steep climbs.
@@dsmracer524I suck at brake modulation. It is so mentally backwards to stab the brake when you need throttle. But I’m getting better. In mud and snow I’m often in trouble by the time I realize I should have been applying the brake. I’ve gotten my truck serious buried due to driver error.
@@dsmracer524 I agree - I've gone back and watched my videos and I can see where I have all four engaged - so I'm getting it right part of the time. But still just a brain twister when trying to remember to do it in the moment.
I was looking at purchasing the West Kentucky fiberglass doors. Yours look similar or are yours the original x doors? If their the aftermarket fiberglass ones would you recommend them?
I've either built or had someone build all my sliders and racks and stuff for my Humvees. It's built better and you can get exactly what you want. Any welder in your town can do amazing things. Take it home and paint it.
Tires are 38x13.5 Toyo Open Country MT mounted on 18x9 ION wheels. It has American Humvee A2 Springs (slight lift plus 30% lighter rate) all the way around and MME coil spacers in the front. So about 3” of lift in the front and 1” in the back.
I like your Humvee, the most handsome and roughed rig that I've seen. It's my dream machine.
Thank you very much!
After recently picking one of these up this video is pretty darn inspirational. Thank you for posting it.

Very cool video. Great shots. Well done. Save travels.
Thank you very much!
Where did you get the grill screen painted like the flag?
I bought it on Amazon. It’s made for a Jeep and just required a bit of trimming to fit the Humvee.
Super video..... I am yet to take mine off road but this really makes me want to do it
Thank you! I started testing it locally and then slowly built confidence before taking it on a trip like this.
Looked like a lot of fun

Those 38's seem to be the perfect size. Not just for offroad performance, but they look great too. Do you have a lift on it? Hope to see more!
Thank you! I have the American Humvee A2 springs all around and cool spacers up front. It’s about 3” of lift up front and 1” in the rear.
If you have a turbo truck that has the factory body lift, you can fit 38's with no lift or changes whatsoever.

Take off the front sway bar and you will get better articulation. I did it to mine and still drives fine .
I have been thinking about it. With as stiff as the suspension is, I don’t think there will be much increase in body role.
I also installed softer springs …
