Join me as I adventure around the United States and let’s enjoy this beautiful country and the great outdoors together! I’ll normally be traveling on my Harley-Davidson Road King or HMMWV and visiting National Parks, Hiking, Biking, Off-roading, Canoeing, Camping, Shooting, and SCUBA diving.
I’m also a long time DSM and Evo owner and currently have a 1g AWD DSM and a Lancer Evo. I also enjoy overlanding and camping and we have a Mitsubishi Montero Sport and Toyota Sequoia.

1G DSM Before and After Installing JXB Driveshaft Bearing Carriers
1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX before and after installing JXB driveshaft bearing carriers. I went with the softer “street” bushing material but they also offer a harder “race” version. These are super easy to install, just lower the exhaust and driveshaft a little, cut off the old bushings, and install the new ones.

Looks fun 😄😊😄
@@AriakkiYT yes, it’s a fun little run!
This is amazing. What I find weird is, when I watch this I think "what an offroad beast." But the wheelbase is like 12" longer than a JLU. But I see a JLU on 38s and I think, "what a silly looking Jeep." I wonder why.
HOWWWWWWWW
Did you ever get a chance to make a video of your walk-through?
@@robdmau I posted one on my IG: Outdooraholic_ep instagram.com/reel/C17PSZtL3yt/?igsh=MXMwcWZmeDA1dnpydA==

@@robdmau gotcha. I’ll try to get something up on UA-cam soon.
Gorgeous truck man, nicely done 👍🏻
@@SentinelWERA43 thank you!
Nice video, and great looking hmmwv. I just bought one to go with my deuce and a half. Love military trucks
@@Jay172967 thank you! Sounds like a great combo!
I’ve seen a couple trips now, do you trailer it to MOAB & NM or drive it?
I drive it! I have driven it all over Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah over the past couple of years. Thanks for asking!
Great video, subscribed and looking forward to more hmmwv off-road videos
inner portal hub seals....waiting for a leak.. Im on my second set!
I had a leak once but the cause was a lose hub nut. I upgraded to the Blue Hummer locking hub for Mod Mafia nuts and haven’t had an issue since.
any info on that helmet top?
It’s a beast, an M998 with a Duramax swap!
What part of the rio grande was this at?
Southern New Mexico starting at Leesburg Dam State Park in Radium Springs.
Whoa! Shes cute
Just drove my prius through there
Just drive my bicycle though there 🚲
We saw this Humvee at Hobby Lobby once! Took a picture of it. Pretty dang neat
Awesome, thank you!
Humvee is a cool car. Symphony of the past of the real America that died under lgbt propaganda)
Damn I live in Abilene and never expected to come across a short from there while browsing shorts on youtube lol
Awesome! Thanks for the comment! We were just passing through on a particularly cold day!
I thought all the 6.2s were all at the scrap yard.
This is a 6.5 but there are lots of 6.2’s still out there.
My Kia started just fine
We’re to get one PLEASE
I found this one for sale on Facebook marketplace a few years ago. You can also buy them direct from the government via online auction sites.
@@dsmracer524 ima start lookin their cause been lookin at facebook market place and the ones their are nice but outa my budget
Oh yay! That’s the way to do it. And we both know that the video takes the extreme of the elevation away so it is hard for normies to know how steep that actually is.
Thanks you! Yeah, my wife and kids all opted to get out and watch for this obstacle, I think they saw a few too many rollover vids on Hells Gate beforehand! The Humvee did great though!
Would love to see some more of the 1165 at the end
That’s a sweet rig owned by Dave Breggin and built by Mod Mafia!
That is completely disrespectful to the flag. Might want to read up on title IV regulations. From section (f) you will find, "The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling." Moreover, one will find in the sections before that statements to the effect of the flag should always be free and never restrained, as it is by the rod in the middle of it. Great job disrespecting the flag and showing you obviously never served.
Section (c) reads, "The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free." You really need to read the regulations and stop pissing veterans like me the fuck off.
I am sorry you feel that way. I take great pride in the American flag and feel there is no more fitting place for one than in an ex-Military Humvee.
How long u let it idle b4 u drive it? I mean in that cold of weather. It looks great sir
Just about a minute or so to let it even out and then off we went!
Look in Korea it was negative 40 Fahrenheit and we could start those vehicles with the first crank. We didn't add any fuel softener or anything it's the cheap old JP8 fuel that we get for the army. The only thing is you ain't going nowhere for a while you got to let that sucker warm up and it takes a very long time.
That’s awesome! This was my first start in temps that low. I was told the diesel available down here will help below about 15 degrees so I took a precaution by adding the treatment. We were still hundreds of miles from home and didn’t want to be stranded.
Should have bought the electric version of HUMV...lol!
I hear electric vehicles aren’t doing so hot in the cold.
Plug it in and make it happy
I don’t have a block heater, and even if I did, we were at a hotel hundreds of miles from home. We also don’t have winter blend diesel in Texas, this was very cold for us down here.
Digging the headliner!
Thank you! It’s a custom made top by Blue Ox!
Global warming at its finest!
Why do people even mention windchill. It has ZERO to do with a cold start. NoNE....nothing. ambient temp is ambie t temp ...Wind chill only affect how fast it cools to the ambient temp. Worked on those rigs I. Alaska for 20 years and personally drove a blazer with the same engine .... we have 5 months where the temp never gets above those temps. Anything above Zero if it won't start its BROKEN.
That’s great. It’s a little different in Texas. Temps this low are very unusual here and we don’t have winter blend diesel. You are right that windchill doesn’t not effect the cold start, but it was cold for me so I felt it was worth mentioning.
@dsmracer524 usually takes below zero to get gel or parafin to form in Diesel ..at least whith what we get up here. Definitely best to go with winter fuel, but if you end up running the lighter fuel for any length of time definitely throw some upper cylinder lube ( marvel mystery, ATF, Howes conditioner or even two stroke premix oil in it ) It is Very "dry" and will end up wearing out the pointless and nozzles in the injectors pretty rapidly if you dont. Thing to watch for then is and of it that is red can get you trouble if they dip the tanks because it now looks like "dyed" fuel.
10 degrees. I don't plug in my truck until -10. I never once used anti gel.....winter blend already has some.
They don’t have winter blend in Texas though and no block heater or way to plug in at a hotel. We don’t usually encounter temps that low here, so I was happy that it started on its own!
Awesome! Mine will start a -5 not even plugged in overnight so I know you've got this! Get that heater cranking and have a great adventure!
The heater is another story. It couldn’t keep at at all in those temps and it felt like it was blowing lukewarm air. I have flushed the heater core and replaced the valve with an OEM one and verified that it’s fully open but it didn’t provide much relief from the cold.
@@dsmracer524 that’s interesting. I don’t even have the arctic package and mine is plenty warm. I did replace my heater core entirely though.
@@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures I might need to do that. I feel it should be much warmer considering the coolant temp is 200-220*. The fan blows hard, it just wasn’t hot coming out of the vents.
Sounds like farts🤣
I’m just glad it started!
You named it? Dude, I'm in Florida.....we don't even name a cold snap.
I didn’t name it, its been all over the news.
Yall are naming systems that drop you into the 10 degree range? It’s -35 in Illinois right now and the only thing they’ve called it is fucking cold
Haha, I guess it’s all about perspective. This is in Texas and we had over 40 consecutive days over 100* this summer, which is more normal here than a single day in single digits.
@@dsmracer524 holy hell that sounds awful. I gotta ask, would you rather do 40 days at 100+ or 40 like it is in your video?
@@thinkharderyourealmosthere I much prefer the heat!
What kind of paint did you used in humvee ?
I painted it myself with Raptor liner and it’s held up great over the past 2 years!
Oh yes!!!!!
Did you sell it?
Absolutely not!
@@dsmracer524 Awesome, thought saw a listing for it in a FB group.
Hey do you know how the BTM works like when you press the brake and pedal does the doff stay lock for a few seconds or no?
In my experience it is only locked while the brake is applied and throttle engaged.
@@dsmracer524 Ohhh okay thanks
👏 no one left behind is the motto.
Wow. That’s not good. Glad you got it going. I recently replaced mine. The replacement one wouldn’t take grease and had me worried of that same thing. Good to keep a spare going way off road.
This is the second one I’ve snapped in the exact same manner, so I always carry a spare now. Both of them were the “heavy duty” updated Moog units. David from HPG is working with me to fix the issue and he just sent me another new pitman and a new centerlink. He thinking the centerlink could be causing the pitman arms to break.

Nice short. Great song. Rocking truck!!!!
Thank you very much! When I heard that remix I knew right away how I wanted to put it together and it turned out great!
@@dsmracer524 I think beastie boys sabotage would work too.
Fantastic 😊😊😊
Thank you!
How’s your fuel economy with those cams?
Once I got it tuned correctly, I still get about 45 miles per gallon (depending on speed). Initial tune with the FP3 dropped gas mileage significantly but I called V&H and they were able to fix it.
Any chance you could tell me how you modified the Westin overland rack?
I've either built or had someone build all my sliders and racks and stuff for my Humvees. It's built better and you can get exactly what you want. Any welder in your town can do amazing things. Take it home and paint it.
Got’a drive with both feet
That’s right, BTM!
@@dsmracer524I’m learning to drive mine - does the Transfer Case really have to be locked for it to work? I can’t really get it to engage in H
@@abc-ed1nr yes, it has to be in either HL or L for BTM to engage.
@@dsmracer524 thank you, that makes sense that it would engage easier while locked. I don’t usually lock mine until I’m in trouble. But it’s weird that you have to shut the truck off to shift the T case
@@abc-ed1nr you don’t have to shut it off, just shift the transmission into neutral.
What a great video! Straight forward and to the point with awesome narration and an amazing rig. Thank you!

Awesome! You need to bring it to Alaska and run with me so we can represent against all the Toyotas and Jeeps. Great looking truck. I’m in dire need of rock sliders. We were out last weekend and it beat them up!!!!! I’m subscribing!
