This is my take on the classic story of What If Future Gohan Survived? Also known as What If Future Gohan went to the Past? What If Future Gohan never died? What If Future Gohan Lived? Etc. Hopefully that makes this very, very clear!

A destroyed city, two Androids, and one half-Saiyan. This is the setting where Future Gohan and the androids would have normally had their final clash. A tragic end to the son of Goku who desperately tried to save his world while being unable to access his own potential. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. A slightly weaker attack from Androids 17 and 18, Future Trunks waking up slightly sooner, or many other factors could have led to Future Gohan surviving this encounter. So today, let’s discuss what would have changed if Future Gohan Survived.
Trunks manages to find Gohan on the cusp of death, but there’s still time to save him if he can bring him back to Capsule Corp quickly. So Trunks carries Gohan back to Capsule Corp where Bulma is able to use the facilities to keep him alive for now. No senzu are left so Gohan’s life is in the hands of machines which are barely keeping him alive, he’s not getting better, he’s just being maintained. Powerless, to even stand let alone fight.
After three years of waiting, Bulma’s time machine is finally up and running so Trunks goes back in time to warn the present Z fighters of the threat of the androids as he does in the original story. However, before Trunks heads back to his own timeline, he asks Goku for a favor. Using his new teleportation ability, Trunks wants Goku to get one Senzu for Trunks to bring back to the future. Goku agrees and quickly teleports to get the senzu. With the bean clutched in his fist, Trunks returns to his timeline. The minute the time machine lands, Trunks runs to Gohan.
He feeds Gohan the senzu and for the first time in years Gohan is no longer in critical condition; however, his arm is not restored as it’s been gone for so long that it is a scar rather than an injury. To explain simply, Yamacha had the hole in his chest restored by a senzu, but his facial scars were not healed. Back to Future Gohan though, he is able to walk, talk, and train again. The pair have time to train together as they wait for more time machine fuel to be created, and once it is they both go to the present to assist against the androids.

I always considered the future Gohan turned super Saiyan as a kid during the big fight with the Androids where everyone died. Him suddenly becoming a super Saiyan is what allowed him to escape with his life. Thinking this was the Pinnacle of power and not really having an opportunity or guidance never looked for anything further beyond it. That is why I think future Gohan is much weaker
I think its also because he didn't have all the equipment and tools to train that the main timeline did. Like he SHOULD be strong enough given the gap between future gohan and present gohan, but as far as we know he never spent any time in the room of spirit and time. The time he would have been introduced to it was taken away from him, and even after going back to the present timeline he forgets about it. Imagine how much stronger he would have been, taking time to train with Trunks in the chamber vs trying to train outdoors like they were. Would have probably changed the entire timeline of the future.
I think it's because of the extreme stress on his body and mind for years, without a single day to rest. Remember, Goku says something like: "There's no point on continue training. At this rate, all stress put on your body is just torture".
There was a manga bonus of dbs that showed piccolo and the others bought time for gohan to escape and not gohan going ssj to escape, gohan going ssj was most likely after the androids had killed everyone and gohan reaction was maybe similar to how trunks reacted when gohan died
But still gohan going ssj to escape would've been pretty cool
Gohan ultimately was stunted because he had already lost hope in himself. Defeat after defeat demoralized the young man into believing that he couldn't win or improve. It's why he didn't have his arm be replaced and why he decided to fight a battle he knew he was going to lose. Unlike with present Gohan, future Gohan no longer feels emotionally attached to the world to be upset at the death of millions, and everyone he loved that was in serious danger died early on. Unironically the way to alter the timeline would be to have Future Videl in that timeline.
Meanwhile Goku is in Heaven, chilling with King Kai (a literal telephone)
Don’t know why, but as a gohan fan, this story is just so relieving and optimistic

To make it even better for you, Toriyama stated that every Fan Manga or basically video is basically canon ONLY if its in another timeline, so this is technically canon

Future Gohan: “MY BABY BOY”
The future Trunks timeline was one of the most interesting plot points in Dragon Ball. I liked how it reached back all the way to the Red Ribbon arch to create a new level threat to challenge the heroes. It also created a new alternate future full of mystery for the fans to experience. The History of Trunks movie was also my favorite movie from the Dragon Ball films. All around a great storyline.
I honestly love how you wrote the Gohans finishing Cell. Im gonna call it the Son-Son Kamehameha.

Not sure if anyone said this already, but in part 2, it would've been cool if Future Gohan still had one arm so when Present Gohan was down an arm after saving Vegeta, they could've both used one arm to complete the Kamehameha.

The one missed opportunity here is a chance for Future and Present Gohan to train together in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Each of them could have learned from the other and grown as characters as a result.
I have a feeling that once Future Cell tried to kill Gohan and Trunks, they would just look at each other and laugh as they proceed to smack around Future Cell like a Volley Ball.

Krillin's body was completely blown up on Namik, which didn't stop him from getting wished back. And, in Dragon Ball Super, Freeza is resurrected probably around 10 years later using Dende's Dragon Balls. I don't see why the Z-Fighters could not have been wished back one by one.
Well they all died twice at this point so unless they used porunga shenron can't bring back someone how died twice if i'm not mistaken

Frieza was brought back in pieces while Z fighters were dead since Android saga.
Rules for Resurrection using Kami's/Dende's dragon balls:
1. The original body must be intact (though I think this gets waived in DBZ).
2. It can be no more than a year after the person died.
3. The person cannot have died from natural causes (Goku's heart failure is a natural cause)
4. A person cannot be revived more than once.
Porunga's Dragon Balls do not have these restrictions, but the z fighters did not know where new namek was, and had no means of contacting the namekians in the future timeline.

Maybe something where Future Gohan and Gohan had an interaction with each other would be nice to further establish a difference between them too. Maybe Gohan would see this and realize how screwed the world would become if the androids weren't defeated.

He also didn’t mention technically how hard Beerus was tying or how much powered up he was .. if he was still not going 100% while handling like 10 merged Zamazus … then Beerus si still a fuckin BEAST ! Gogeta Blue was barely handling one

They just need blue prints for a robotic arm from Dr. Gero's lab and with her intelligence she can make a better robotic arm if she wants to although Future Bluma would need time to have the resources for obvious reasons

It's not that at all. Vegita originally would have been the only person with a connection to trunks and the second fighter behind (current)Gohan to get revenge. But with future Gohan there vegita has no reason to get involved since it is 2 Gohan's with super Saiyan 2

yeah, tbh Gohan, Trunks and Vegeta are easily the most screwed over characters because Toriyama and most fans of DB are obsessed with Goku.
Future gohan...can you imagine how much pressure, stress, emotions, self doubts literally caring the whole world on your shoulders...and seeing everyone you know dies knowing if only you was stronger.

This channel is as lovely as one your first super long RPGs ever that you wanted to complete to 110% to experience all possible endings and interactions even though it took hundreds of hours, and every party dialog and unique ending was a blast.
Goku Black - gets stronger during a fight after learning about the saiyans body, getting beat up multiple times and
Broly - just keeps getting stronger as the fight continues, far higher than Goku Black.
Future Gohan and Trunks have also got greater potential and get stronger from fights and training but if they stopped, they will get weaker.

Saiyans reaching earth took 1 year. Were they just on the other side of universe? Imagine the energy core required for such a feat.
What if suggestions:
1. What if Katas (the father of the nameless namekian) went to earth alongside his son?
2. What if King Cold was revived instead of Frieza?
3. What if Tao appeared in the androids saga as part of Gero's army and got upgraded?
4. What if Towa, Mira and Fu appeared in the Buu saga and were under Babidi's command alongside Dabura?
5. What if Cui, Zarbon and Dodoria turned good?

This is way better that what actually happened i mean think about it. First trunks loses his mentor Gohan, the befriends and loses Supreme kai, AND THEN has his entire universe erased like damn! Dude never caught a break and was always the sole individual looked to in times of strife. That's a lot of pressure and loss man

One of the scenarios I thought of was when they fought the androids at the amusement park trunks was the one who woke up first then after finding Gohan he couldn't sense his ki thus causing him to go super Saiyan early, but gohan wakes up because he felt the surge of energy coming from trunks then after gohan takes the last senzu bean and heals his wounds.

im just saying the writers made broly broken op and im not saying this because i dislike broly he is legit my most fav anime character but if he just beat the shit out of everyone he fought he would have just killed goku black and we wouldn't get the great ending we have
@@Ayprr you can have a good, long story with broken characters if it's done right, nerfing Broly just because, after harping on how high his potential is, doesn't make sense. Either he's Broly, and broken as shit, or he's just a Saiyan OC wearing Broly's face, end if story.
