In the fight between Wolverine and War the rule was "whoever loses a limb first loses the fight" so Wolverine did win, BUT he wasn't fighting for Krakoa there, he was fighting in Solem's stead, hence why the point went to Arakko.

One thing Rob, with regards to Solem/Wolverine vs War, that particular contest wasn't a fight to the death, it was to see who could sever an appendage first. Arakko was always going to get the point because it was Solem vs War originally, and Solem made Wolverine fight in his stead. It was rigged against War to begin with because she wouldn't have been able to cut off anything from Solem and Wolverine

@comics Explained I think you got the Wolverine vs War fight kinda mixed up. The fight was to the first one to loose a appendage not death. Solem got the win because Wolverine was fighting on behalf of him due to the deal they made. And because Solem is with Arakko they still got the point. I love you man and I love your work you got me back interested in comics so thank you for that.
Saturnyne is definitely taking this too far. For one what was the point in collecting up the swords if she keeps creating events that have no sword fights? And the fact she keeps manipulating events to favor Arrako is BS. Doesn't make sense to show wolverine what would have happened if he killed her and guaranteed that Arrako won if she is just making it so they win anyway. Just wow

I think she's purposely nerfing the X-Men so Jasper's decides to keep the other side as his prize. She's actually helping the X-Men in her own way without getting caught and having to fight Jaspers before she's ready.

Isca isn’t as unbeatable as we thought. Going back to the test Magik and Gorgon had catching the chalices, she won their challenge but LOST the challenge she gave them when tossing their cups back. At the very least it counts as a draw meaning both sides won. That could be a way around her powers, by making sure a challenge against her ends in a victory for both sides. They should keep her in the comics as an antihero. One that’s more good than evil.
Literally the first thing I thought when they mentioned her power. If she can't lose and it's a 1v1, you just need to end it in a draw.
The only problem with that is i believe her powers would have her align with the bad guys if the bad guys are going to win, so she doesn't lose. Which may come into play if the X start to pull out more victories and are in the verge of winning. But who knows... now the 1v1 thing and a draw that is interesting!
I still like the idea of pitting her against Domino.
What happens when one who can’t loose comes up against someone who changes the odds(luck) in their favor?
Do their powers cancel each other out?
I also considered that possibility. Isca has the advantages of a guaranteed victory while Domino’s powers guarantee she won’t die.... but can still lose. Luck and magic may be a way of tricking Isca’s powers into a double victory (a draw). Isca already had a weakness to Magik so that counts.
Jim Jaspers reminds me of Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation / Deep Space Nine. Q has reality warping powers as well. Pretty awesome!
9:45 This argument, that the mutants have become weaker by not fearing death, only works because the story is saying it works; it's equally likely, or more so I'd say, that without having to fear death you'd fight even harder, because you can always give 100% without worrying if it's the right time for a last stand.
The mutants still want to achieve the goals of whatever mission they're on, or situation they're involved in, it isn't like they can simply act cavalier and f* up and do it again like a game; even if the mutants don't have to worry about dying, there are still stakes beyond their mortality in every situation.
I still don't understand why, if Charles _really_ wants to save mutants, and has failed every time so far, they don't just peace out on Earth, colonize Mars, or any number of other worlds. Really, he's overstaying his welcome considering his inside knowledge of the futures that have occurred.
Honestly this. The X men just need to go interstellar at this point. The only reason I can see them staying is that mutants with the X gene will still he born to regular poeple on earth. If the X men leave, those mutants will just simply be left behind and unable to join their kind, leading them to fend for themselves.(ironically creating a possible second generation of X men and/or brotherhood of mutants entirely)
But smaller possibilities aside, yeah, the X men should honestly go find another planet. They have connections allies willing to work with them, since humanity just overwhelmingly is unwilling to sadly, and unfortunately they lost the strong bond with wakanda due to storm. Plus they likely wouldn't have to put up with stuff like Arakos bullshit or Saturnyne. While yeah, moving is risky and extreme, I'd say it's far safer than staying somewhere you could inevitably die on.
@@LeavanDragon uts kinda similar with wakanda becoming a space empire. It proves a point that normal humans will never accept mutants because or fear, and wakanda because if there tech. They've been ostracized by humanity because they themselves viewed them as mirrors of what the have failed and what could've been
You guys miss the bigger picture... true, harm may come to you, but you shouldn't be forced to move just because your different. And they already did that in the first place. But now your saying that they should leave the planet all together. Smh. You do realize the x-men started as a racial influence comic. And what your saying is the hated race should pack up and go, instead of fight for their right to exist.
This was my first thought when resurrection was introduced, mainly within the X-Force title since that team is dying a lot. Knowing you can be resurrected means you can go guns blazing. You still have your mission objectives like when Wolverine & Kid Omega rescued Domino. Now that resurrections are offline from Otherworld, all the mutants are even more conscious of their mortality. Doug and Cable are terrified. The other Swordbearers are old enough & combat vets to know death is inevitable and will gladly die for Krakoa's safety.
I also thought about how the X-Men need to leave Earth, but that is their home. You never want to let the hate win. How hard would it be to leave your home entirely and never go back. Also the comment about the X-Men representing persecution of all kinds is so valid. What a horrible message that would be if the X-Men left Earth because they were tired of being hunted and killed.
@@shifftybeast8974 Not only have they lost multiple times, and badly, the reason they're fighting is for their own peace and liberty, that's the goal, how they achieve that shouldn't matter so long as it's achieved within their own moral bounds. Clearly, their own moral bounds preclude absolutely wiping regular humans off the face of the Earth, or they would, we all know there are many individual mutants who could. So then what is left? They can't win peacefully, they can't win forcibly, the next obvious step, is to avoid the fight altogether. If they're willing to exclude themselves largely from humanity by living on an island, simply extrapolate the island to a larger scale, a planet.
This isn't an argument about what is the most moral solution, that would be for the humans afraid of mutants to simply _stop being afraid,_ and for the dangerous mutants, like Sabertooth, to simply _stop being a bad guy_ -that's not realistic within the bounds the mutants are willing to act within.
It's easy to misconstrue the position as, "don't stay where you aren't wanted, " since that's very similar, depending on your perspective, to, "don't stay in an abusive relationship;" but the mutants' situation is more similar to the latter.

Technically, the only character than can defeat Jaspers is the Fury, but I remember a theory years ago that Jaime Braddock was supposed to be the direct counter to Jaspers since Braddock can make himself immune to the powers of other reality warpers as seen during the House of M storyline.

11:00 No Rob, that's not the case. There are 2 reasons why the point went to Arakko ( Solemn ). The First Reason is this:
You had a 1v1 battle, Solem Vs War. You had at the same time Wolverine vs Storm. The Krakoa fight is ended, with Wolverine as the winner, so +1 point to Krakoa. At the same time you had the Arakko fight. Seconds before it started, Solem activated his deal with Wolverine and brought him to fight in his place. Of course, Saturdyne knew that. What you must understand is that, although the fighter is replaced, the fight remains the same. Wolverine fought on behalf of Solem and thus, because he won, Solem took the victory. The fight remains Arakko vs Arakko.
The Second Reason is this:
It wasn't a battle to the death, but a battle to amputation. War couldn't cut of Wolverine's head off, due to his adamantium spine. Wolverine however, could cut War's hand off.
Also, the reason why Saturdyne gave Wolverine that "lesson" was because he tried to kill her. Yes he just thought about doing it, but for Saturdyne it's the same thing. Just to clarify some things.
I don't think Wolverine won the point in the drinking game with Storm. Wolverine got teleported away which makes him unable to continue drinking. He loses since Storm is the only one left.
At this point, I do think Saturnyne really should have been killed by Wolverine. This is some major BS.

The Solem / War /Wolverine thing was a triangle. Solem bailed out and the battle still went for him because Wolverine's deal was that when he was called to fight FOR Solem he would. He did, so the point went to Arakko. Otherwise, this was a great breakdown. I missed some of this

It's so hard to get behind this series, the only thing that really is drawing me in is that HIckman wrote it and there just has to be something worth wild at the end of it all. Saturnyne is cheating... yeah that much is obvious. But saying Wolverine has gotten weak because of his healing factor? Yeah I'm going to call B.S. on that as that was at what point what made him such a good fighter because he doesn't care about damage and can focus on attack rather than worrying about getting killed.
And then they mention the revival technology too as if that ever comes up with wolverine lol
In Marvel lore, it's the opposite. Wolverine was a fighter with good results, but poor fighting skill because he didn't have to think. He could just brute force down any opponent and hope for the best. When he didn't have his powers he was much more dangerous, because he would put that decades of experience in fighting to work, and focus far more on his opponent's weaknesses rather than just plowing through them.
The fight between wolverine and War actually ended with Saturnyne giving the victory to wolverine, because the fight was to dismemberment, not death. The reason Arrako gets the poiny even tho wolverine won the fight is because wolverine was fighting in the stead of solem as his champion basically. So it didnt matter who came out the victor, the point was always going to go to Arrako, the same way wolverine and storm were always going to get a point for having the drinks.
I feel like thses video titles are you just fangirling about Jim Jaspers and not what the stories are about

The contest wasn't the first person to die, it was the first person to lose a limb. And arrako got that second point because the contest was originally arrako vs arrako and since wolverine was fighting in solem's place the point still went to arrako
Rob, I think you misread the reason why Wolverine "lost". The point of this contest was to remove the limb of your opponent. Wolverine won, to that effect. But he was representing an Arrakan, therefore they got the point. Regardless of who won, the contest was between two Arrakan warriors. Krakoa was never going to get a point here

also the Old Man Logan version of Summoner was a reality that fused Logan and Summoner into the same person, there was also a Minecraft universe, and a Tron universe

Everyone came in thinking this was going to be like a Fighting Tournament. It's more like the Hunter Exams. SO, it's actually potentially even better.

My theory - this is all another timeline where a big bad appears at the end of the event, and everything gets reset back to day 0. Everything they’re going through right now is being manipulated to teach the X-men a lesson to prepare them for said big bad
Either this or by the time Arako wins to invade, none of their champions will be alive or able to fight. Leaving the X-men to sweep the floor
Saturnine is making a big pretty distraction for Jasper's and will pull a classic Doctor Doom and steal his powers- forcing all sides to come together to fight her before she can master her new abilities.

I don’t know if resurrection makes one weak. It doesn’t make that trauma of the death go away. It doesn’t lower the stakes of a loss. If you lose your house if die in a fight it doesn’t matter if you come back. Your house is gone. You’re back with nowhere to live.
I really do believe Saturnyn is in control, but there's a lot of Jaspers head nods in this storyline.
Yeah it it seem that Jaspers have something else on his mind, because this not like him to be in second command or anything like that. His main and original goals that he want to be the only Supreme being. I'd wish their will show the new mad Jim jasper of his new powers and abilities

My take on that isn't that the point went to War, more that the point went to Arrako. It didn't matter who won, because Wolverine, for that fight, was fighting for Arrako, in the other guys place.

I love how it's called X of Swords, multiple characters went through meaningful ordeals to get them, yet only four people in all the issues to date have used them. There has to be a really good twist or reason by the end otherwise this story turned itself into a joke.
