Moira wasn’t revived. She turned herself into a make-shift omega sentinel.
Yeah I don't know why Rob thinks its her power despite the plot point of her working with the other scientist.
@@theone3746 he might have forgotten the guy who knew how to transfer minds into machines/data since he took weeks off covering the book.
It was really weird to hear Rob say that. We see Moira coming out of a grave with a robot body and Rob is like "yeah the woman who's power is to reboot her life since the uterus of her mother suddenly changed her power into coming back to life with a robot body because lulz". I wonder what went through his mind but it's a pretty big slip on him.
I love what Rob does and hopes he never loses this gift he has of telling audio stories. But l think Rob needs to reread collections again later to not miss little things like Moira being a robot or saying the wrong name like when he was talking about the Muramas blade and not the cerebral sword.
Something Rob got wrong, this isn’t Moira’s 11th life, she just uploaded herself into a new cybernetic body
He got two things wrong. Ultimate Peter didnt die, he entered a death like state so his body could heal. In the Ultimate universe the OZ formula make you immortal to a degree
@@retrohero09 he talked about the ultimate universe in this vid? Sure don't remember that
@@protalghulnist4126 he just mentioned it in the end
Did everyone miss the part of the story where Moira was hanging the robotics guy? Now you see her as a robot and nobody can put 2 and 2 together. What did you think they were doing together?
Exactly. Her power wasn't resurrecting in her current body after it dies, and rising up like a zombie. It was looping back to her birth, carrying her previous memories - essentially creating an alternate timeline. This is obviously different, and not related to her (previous) powers.
"Nobody can put 2 and 2 together"? Dude stfu and get off you'd high horse soooo many people commented before you did about that so why you acting like you're some special little boy finding out something nobody else knows
Beyond Omega Level: Popeye the Sailor Man
This request....top notch
Lol old school
Got his powers after cutting himself on a radioactive can of spinach.
The true one above all of comics
I support this. Nice choice
Sorry if I am mistaken, but this resurrection from Moira does not seems to be related to her powers since the timeline did not reset this time. I think that forge weapon did worked fine.
I got a Feeling that due to the sword existing she was able to travel into an old life from a future life. So this is the 11th, in the 10th universe.
@@justgivemeafunkinnam your comment got my head hurting so bad like holy hell
@@justgivemeafunkinnam Ya or what she built with that guy in the lab was this. Her self as some sort of version of master mold using her old flesh as a sort of mask to hide her new "look". Because as she proved she's not afraid to skin people.
Your correct. Her body bonded with the techno virus.
@batatahans I agree. This is something different.
Beast increasingly sounding like dark beast every issue.
Not a lie; Emma Frost and Sage beginning to openly question and defy him (in issues of X-Force) is a sigh of relief.
Percy writes Beast logically, but I miss the Beast (and Xavier, honestly) of the mid-1990s and before.
Moira appears to be resurrected by mechanical means rather than her mutant abilities. Forge’s gun did work, but whatever research Moira did with that other scientist seems to have turned her into a cyborg.
That’s my take as well
No this is huge you're missing it Rob, before her powers were more than resurrection it was like time travel, she always came back and relived her life from the beginning as a child so her resurrection was always at birth from her mother's womb....this is the first time she has crawled out of a grave being resurrected as an adult so something has changed
It's not resurrection.
@@cjtrules1 she was literally revived after death. Somehow her consciousness returned. You know Destiny and Mystique confirmed no pulse/brain activity.
Super relieved to see this. Was afraid that we wouldn't see this fight.
I sort of kind of totally despise the idea that Beast looks at Logan as a weapon to aim. All this new history for the X-books is good, but Logan and Hank were friends for years. And Hank, a humanoid covered in blue fur, possessing incredible agility and strength and amazing intelligence and empathy-and he’s decided there’s nothing deeper to Logan?
Is that what happens when mutants aren’t under constant stress and threat? They don’t build bonds of friendship because now all conflict is optional?
It’s kind of sad and probably for the worse. Reset their history, sure, but Hank’s character is both changed and inconsistent with a reasonable simulacra of his experiences.
Yeah I kind of feel like him saying that is wildly out of character. Maybe it was in a kind of mocking tone of their treatment of him? Maybe he realized the kind of situations wolverine constantly ends up in on their behalf and was pointing it out?
I don't feel like he said it in a cruel or vindictive way honestly. But more of a realistic...perhaps even pessimistic view. Wolverine is the best there is at what he does. So at the end of the day that will always be what the xmen will use him most for. Sure he's good at other things, but anything he's good at someone else on Krakoa is most likely better at. Whether by a small or embarrassingly vast margin. That is why even though Wolverine has served as the leader of the xmen before, if you asked someone of who their favourite, the best or even the most memorable xmen leaders were, it's always prof X, Cyclops, storm...perhaps even kitty or Emma. Same for him as a teacher (which I person ally loved reading about) or even when he tries doing undercover jobs. Ya he can do it...to varying degrees of success but at the end of the day we all know wolverines purpose in the group and what people will look to him most for.
Beast knows that Logan has been through hell and back. He knows that Logan will take the most dangerous of missions and then sleep it off. Wolverine has the experience that most of the mutants lack. So he is more suitable for the job.
But also at the same time throughout the years, Beast has always been acting like this. Tbh it’s nothing new
What you are seeing is the side of him that let him become Dark Beast in AoA. Its what happens when someone lets Scientific Curiosity and Logic override Morals. Is he slipping to become more Dark Beast like, who knows. Could be that Dark Beast trade spots with him, again, or if he was brought back we got a "different" Beats and no one has noticed yet.
The cybernetic version of Moira is her 11th and final life because she got shot with Forge's gun. She says this herself in the monologue about Swans. One of the first things Moira will do after resurrecting is create a backup of her consciousness I'm assuming, unless she's already figured out how to do this. If the good guys can destroy her digital consciousness then she will be dead dead.
*Moira comes back as a robot zombie:* "Hickman's gonna have a hard time fixing this one when he gets back from swimming in money..."
He not coming back.😭
They retconned Ultimate Peter Parker's death. OZ serum basically makes him immortal due to healing factor.
Rob I have to say man you killed it on this 1 it's 1 of the best videos you've done in years Bravo
Whoa there Rob! Icemans powers is not to make things cold. The cold and freezing effect that appears when Iceman uses his powers is just a side effect/biproduct. Iceman's power is the ability to control/reduce the speed in which energy moves.
….so his name is a lie? Just sounds better (and more sense/simple) to say he makes ice
@@killerzombie2171 no it's not a lie😆 his appearance changes and thus that's how his name came. Here's the thing is simple works for you ok great 👍🏾. But the originators of the character made him simple in his inception cause science. As understanding of science of the common person grew so did understanding of the character. Which is why the writers and illustrators keep advancing his use of power. Most of Rob's subscribers and viewers aren't remedial, I don't believe your are either. Also people like the science behind the comic, and we (you and I) are among them or we wouldn't watch comics explained, we wouldn't ask Rob to do Beyond Omega Level on the different characters. Yes some people will open a comic or watch a vid or something and go "that's looks/is cool" and some of us do so and with excitement because of understanding of what's being done and illustrated. When we r kids we read by pictures till we can actually read and comprehend then we read truly. You make your own choice. I've made mine 👍🏾.
Wrong, his power is to lower his internal body temperature, and to lower the temperature of his surroundings. He does this not but manipulating the speed of energy, but by being able to override his hypothalamus. He is a much much more sophisticated freezer, but a freezer nonetheless.
@@MrThepatient
OMG bruh you just proved my point. You obviously don't know how freezers work and you obviously don't know how to in real life nor how "Iceman" is manipulating his own body. As I stated in my original comment, he's manipulating the speed of energy by reducing it even to none. Which is why he was able to exist as mist n vapor during the Massiah Complex when they thought he had been destroyed. It's how he was able to live in his "Ice form with a big hole in his chest where his heart was until he was able to grow it back from a fragment of an ice crystals that was left from his heart being blown out. I guess now I'll have to explain crystals too🤷🏾♂️✊🏾
@@Badchocobo lol you sure use a lot of words, and say absolutely nothing. I literally explained to you he manipulates his own body temp, which causes things around him to freeze. He is not an energy manipulator. He regulates his hypothalamus to lower his temperature, which effects the area around him. He does not slow energy down. It’s even stated in multiple issues, nobody knows by which mechanic he is able to override his hypothalamus. Now sure, is you want to extremely meta, then sure “AlL PoWeRs MaNiPuLaTe EnErGy” lol like storm she controls lighting so she also controls energy right? Cause lighting has energy and if she controls lighting she controls energy right? By your logic. Night crawler has to use energy to teleport, so he controls energy too! Please learn the difference between kinetic, and potential energy. What you’re talking about is more akin to the flash than iceman. Good try tho sport.
Rob do really be spoiling us this month! I hope you had a wonderful Birthday, man!
Conditional powers? Critia needs to be met for it for the powers to activate.
On the note on Cyclops, wasn't there a universe where Forge use Cyclops' head as a gun? I think it was New Marvel Zombies.
Nah it was zombies return, he skull fucked cyclops in new zombies
This did happen though I don't remember the comic. Guess that question is answered
Yeah but he was still technically alive/undead. He wasn't fully dead.
In regards to Cyclops’ blasts being functional after his death, didn’t they already do that? Was it Marvel Zombies where Forge made a blaster rifle out of his skull? Or did that only work because his zombified head was still active? 🧐
That's exactly what I came here to say, came to the same conclusion& everything.
I feel like it could still work, but I definitely think where they were leaning, as far as the zombies comics went, was that his being undead allowed forge to use him as a weapon
If he dies the portals can't work because there of decomp etc
@@FukUrAdsiHopeUdie But again, look at Marvel Zombies, where they literally use his head as a blaster rifle. So the question then is, HOW MUCH decomposition would need to take place before his concussive blasts no longer function?
@@OrderofthePipe zombies don't decomp the same way, literally if they did they wouldn't be able to move due to rigor
@@OrderofthePipe also as long as his eyes are a thing and connected to his brain the portals work
Gotta say you are the man Rob! Just wanted to post a comment of appreciation because if step one of getting into comics for me was seeing Thanos at the post credits scene of the first Avengers movie than step two was undoubtedly stumbling upon your channel to absorb the wealth of knowledge you have when it comes to this stuff so thank you my dude. 🤘🏼🍻
My cat loves Rob's voice so much when he is outside and I play any video by comics explained he comes running back home.
I’m so glad we decided to keep on with this story cause it was great!!!!!
Oh its just Rob and his evil laugh every 20seconds🤣
You’re so the MVP . 2 vids in a single day ?
It seems to be condition based, as in it only activates if certain conditions are met ie she dies. Honestly I say that in that case it's like Domino's powers. It isn't active because she can't just turn on her probility manipulation. But it isn't passive either because in that case it would always be working and we see that isn't the case. Her power only works on the condition that she does something, but she has to perform an action she can't just will it on
Not looking for Rob to do listicles but the way he gets hyped for 80/90 ultra violence makes me want a favorite moments/fights of the era video.
Good old Beast, cold-hearted as ever
Early AF and glad to find it!
really nice
Yeah Robs wrong at the end here. Her power didn't resurrect her. She transferred her consciousness into a new, probably robotic/technoorganic body. Probably designed to only activate after her death.
I could be wrong but thats my take away
DUDE!!
Where di you find the picture of the Cerebro helmet? That looks awesome!!
Amazing
Hey Rob! You gotta review the Hellboy Comics!!!
Thought that's what she was working on with the guy she found. Was a way to come back. I don't think it's her body she's like a cyborg now
This seems really plausible. Maybe they used the whole cerebro info and all that she had access to upload her into an omega sentinel corpse or something. Also explains why "attack the island" seemed like a great idea. It's a two point thing, she gets the gun, it works, she activates her powers, she fails, she then "dies" and is off the radar for her to do things in the new body.
It felt weird she "gets wood armor and goes on the attack" instead of trying to flee, as it was quite weak. Though third option, she was infected by wolverine when he killed her, sleeper plot by the phalanx, installed new hardware and she resurrected after they buried her. The whole she set it up in advance would be a whole lot cooler though.
Love you rob
I love him more
I do like how death has become a literal tool both inside the comics and outside as a story telling method. There’s a level of comic book wackyness when a character can say something like “I need to get back fast, kill me.”
SO...this confirms the theory that Hank is really Dark Beast right? No way the real Beast would think of his friend Logan as only a weapon.
I believe it does
Conditional power. We see this alot in HunterxHunter (anime / manga) where people have set their powers up so if they die their nen (the "ki" of the series) to activate a power post mortem the activation condition being "if my heart stops, body do X", without spoiling anything it's normally a super high lvl thing that only a handful of people can do
Beast is too logical in his view of Wolverine, while on the nail Logan's own view of his self says he is very aware of what he is called to do. Able to perform and adjusted by his own personality to keep him steady. Yet his ability to self-right his connections with others without profound change to himself says Charles is more in tune to the valued nature of Wolverine than Beast's analysis.
This way of thinking is what caused Beast to become Dark Beast in AoA. Just a Sage pointed out the way he is looking at things is to Dark to Logical.
hearing a quick explaination of cable at the beginning makes me wonder if they ever gave us a cable at full power
moira could have REACTIVE powers. meaning something has to happen in order for them to do the thing. maybe its her life has to end in some way in order to work.
Conditional
Damn you dropped this video fast AF
Moira to me looks more like she's combined with robotic/mechanical technology. Between her one glowing eye and the orangish/yellowish color scattered throughout her hair, that this is potentially Phalanx related.
Don't forget the robot body
@@lacikirk9600 True
Aight, this is what I think: because a couple issues ago it was revealed Moira survived 1000 years into the future, I think this is her 11th life now but before she got killed, she turned herself into a sentinel and that’s how she was able to live for so long so essentially her 10th and 11th life are in the same timeline. IF that’s the case…. Man…
But how did she live all those years in the previous timelines? This Moira is definitely different than those versions.
It’s an external type power. Kinda like how Ann revived herself in invincible. I’d imagine that it must be a type of cellular reaction where when the decay hits a certain threshold that triggers her powers and then the cooldown is essentially until death again.
Didn’t Forge turn Cyclops skull into a gun?
If you mean the zombie one, i think that was less dead and more undead so a different context.
Given the nature of Moira's powers I wonder if she's even a mutant, and not something like being possessed by a new kind of comic entity. Mutant powers are tied to their genes, and although we've seen some very strange powers it seems very odd to be able to reach across space and time like that.
That's Not the same version of Moira that just died. The moira that just died wasnt buried in a cemetery. Thats a different Moira, and shes apparently a cyborg. I love what the Xmen comics are now.
Maybe each new life revives somewhere else, yet relevant to the time/era she is revived in.
"Your father had this watch when we were POWs in Vietnam. He kept it out of their hands by..."
can u make a video on the brimstone dimension
Can't wait to play the new game... I don't know anything about the comic aspect of Wolverine, but since a kid watching the X-Men movies, I knew he was dope. An instant favorite...!
Rob have you read X-Men 92 House of XCII, it’s basically what if the House of X storyline happened during the animated series. It’s really fun to read given how they change things and characters like the 5 to work around those characters not all being in the show
Also I don’t think the muramasa blade completely turns off his entire healing factor forever, it temporarily disables it so he could potentially be killed
I been reading the Xmen comics hard lately and its been good I'm ahead a little bit maaan...wait til what comes next
I'm so early...nice!
Nice
13:28 it's similar to Mr. Immortal, you know the guy who is called one step above mutants or is ambiguous whether or not he is one.
Once you get the chance can you explain the Greiver at the end of all things is
Rob's super villain idea for Cyclops' corpse sounds like that one zombie elseworld story where someone made a gun out of Cyclops' skull while he still had the visor on. I think it was a zombie story...
Please, please, please do Hickman's East of West in the near Future :) Attempt #5(i think ? xD)
Awesome conclusion.
Excited for this conclusion
You brought up something interesting to consider with Moira's powers, that maybe they couldn't be deactivated/ removed because it doesn't function until she's already died. However, I think the fact that Moira resurrects as a machine is important, perhaps they found some way to transfer her power from her biological body to a mechanical one.
Other people are mentioning that she didn't start a "new life", though I think it'd be lack luster if the catch was simply that she's a robot now and it had nothing to do with her powers, even if this isn't a "new life".
Moira's power is a triggered ability.
She dies and *BLAM* "You triggered my trap card!"
Please explain the character Hero Zero (Dark Horse Comics)
14:25 now isn't there a marvel zombies comic where that happened? I want to say it probably was Forge, and he took his head and used it as a weapon? Like an optic blast rifle.
How's it going Rob? I always wondered, how can you show us so much of the comics and not get copyright claims or the video taken down?
1 Fair use laws. Rob is critiquing the work & expanding on the material by explaining it. Since a comic is print media, there is no way to affect the sales of the comic. Even if you illegally download the video, you still don't have the comic. Unlike if you download a UA-cam video of a feature length movie.
2. The comics are digital so he most likely has a Marvel Comics subscription to get the actual panels for his videos. So he's not stealing from Marvel and profiting off of it.
@@cjtrules1 That's pretty useful, than you.
Hay rob, in regard to cyclops questions. Isn't the a story where Forg used cyclops skull as a sort gun with optic blasts
It was in the marvel zombies resurrection
@@jfur9725 was he still “alive” as a zombie?
I call it. Moira is Omega Sentinel. Talk about irony. You became your enemy.
Rob, I call upon you for something. Cyclops eyes are Portals, He has at times been able to control it. Its Brain damage that makes it uncontrollable right now. So one would assume that if he died with the Brain damage and you sliced off the eye lids, He would Infact without a doubt be a Mutant hand gun. Any of the major Brains in Marvel verse could study Scotts Brain and find the part that allows the portals to open and use that to make other weapons. Now with your question answered. Here is one of mine.
If you opened Scotts eyes near a black hole would the universe that Scotts eye beams come from be ripped through his eyes and destroyed or would nothing happen?
There was a case in the most recent marvel zombies story where Valeria Richards created a gun out of cyclops’ severed head. So the portals must stay open after his dead for some time. The case could be made that given enough decomposition that the portals would cease to exist.
they just recently did the cyclops gun thing in marvel zombies resurrection back in 2020
Finally Death of X, this was dope!
The problem is that Programming is a finite closed term. If Sage is as good as claimed, her sword would work, which we saw it do, so yes. It would work on anything, so long as it doesn't have defenses specifically against it. A Celestial, you'd presume, is already powerful enough to just nope, but if the Celestial in question doesn't know ig, idk. Ultron would be a matter of actually stabbing him with it, Arnim Zola, toast, etc.
I'd imagine that maybe some level of decomposition, whether that is a certain level of genetic decomposition or whatever, is probably what triggers Moira's resurrection. It'd be a unique way for it to operate. If her mutant genome is resilient enough, it might outlast the degeneration of her otherwise human dna and that's when it kicks in.
Regarding Scott Summers' eye portal eyes... So are his eye lids the only thing stopping the energy from coming through? What are those things made of lol
" I don't know what would happen, but I'd be interested in finding out"
beyond omega level: the darkness in robs soul
Please do a new Cable story.
Yeah I remember asking that exact question about Cyclops and I finally received an answer. Rob has no idea. Lol
That theory with cyclops would be awesome. You sure it wasn't just technology taking over?
Story was ok, great artwork, Just ready to see something different with Wolverine, maybe make him a bad guy for awhile or have him have another big run in with the Hulk, his stories haven’t really excited me lately, where I could be amazed at almost every page, also ready to see him in the MCU filleting a few bad guys,?or even a Wolverine vs Hulk film
To address your question about Cyclops's power being active after he dies....isn't there a comic where someone has a gun made out of Cyclops's skull?
To answer your question rob we saw forge use the skull of cyclops as a weapon in marvel zombies resurrection
Idk man, I really like Moira MacTaggert. Her sheer tenacious and stubborn nature to never give up and finish all her plans even in the face of complete defeat. Badass.
"I do what I must because I am thd only one who can"
I really liked her as a gray hero, but I suppose I can still appreciate her as a villain. I’m gonna miss her as being an X-Men ally though😢.
Apparently you to survive being killed by the mura Masa blade if the area around the blades wounds are cut out and the person's natural healing Factor will kick in if it can kick in after their bodily death and bring them back. It was in one of the Lord Kenny Wolverine books. Also North Cheney had mura Masa make some sort of Shield armor utilizing parts of her soul Dakin's I don't remember the girl's name by believe she was calling herself honey badger for a bit because they can suggested it and Old Man Logan to protect her from the effect of the muramasa blade
Rob weird question could storm if the correct conditions are met control fire by some means
4:09 Logan used a John Cena line! 😆
They’re leading beast into Dark Beast! Another parallel to the Xmen stories that take place in a dark future.
He was being super sus during the Gala, now he’s searching for information bias.
Moira is an interesting character to stop the mutant ability of. It's her many lives based on "a" multiverse and how it branches into possibilities. (Think of it like the opposite of Immortus in Loki. He knows everything because he filtered the timeline to 1 trackable instance. Moiras mutant ability branches out every time she does. So I'm more surprised they don't have a standoff yet but it could be someday. It just means Moira never makes it past a certain point that's concerning to him. Unless they go by the situation Immortus no longer exists in comics.)
Which means you could see an alternate version of her at any time with the same abilities. The question then would be how does her ability switch to the next "her". If she's in another multiverse does she stay in it or does her ability continue in the original instance?
It's more like they stopped x1 branch of a hive of possibilities. The lives I'm curious about in terms of Moira would be the Incursion versions to current day. (The destruction and recreation of the multiverse)
Imagine if Moira had the tech from Everything Everywhere All At Once...
Knowing all your prior to future memories while tracking your lifespans across the multiverse ... She could stop the machines eventually even without the current multiverse mindset of how to achieve it.
This is also a device that could be created as a tiny example based on the device used by Superior Spiderman in the multiverse event. How they were able to find every Spider-Man and then team up. By a villain it could've been used to link all their minds depending on who makes it. Imagine if there's a multiverse where she had met with Forge before Charles...She could've been diabolical.)
Moria been playing around with post humans lol
Thing is Wolverine and Deadpool who got their healing factor from Wolverine in fact they can and Nora seem to do this as well once they hit the death threshold their healing Factor pissed for some reason or another goes into a state where is repairing the most vital damage and it revived them and I guess for a little bit it looks like they're in a deathlike coma before it brings them back to full life. This was hinted at in Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe and in Logan dies it was stated that one of the reasons why he comes back after he dies is that apparently he fought the angel of death and one back during one of the world wars and because of that whenever he dies the two of them fight again if he wins he comes back to life if he doesn't supposedly he stays dead
Moira Mctaget isn't the first one with periodically automatically activated and automatically deactivated because Immortal man brcame famous for having the power to fully heal and come back to life after each time he dies.It may be that it's not a power of her or his body but of someone or something else that is unseen
I mean to the increase Rob do in the end of his video
I would presume Moira MacTaggert is a passive power and her mutant power only activate when she die. this would not be the first time such a case has happened see Moonbeam (Dead Girl) for the X-Statix.
and if Cyclops eye portals still work after his death. Rule of cool if it's cool on necessary to the story then yes.
That ending actually makes perfect sense if you think about it. How else would Moira be in the future if she wasn't able to side step the a typical mutant activation.
See that's what hit me hard. Thanks to the 90s cartoon hank was Logans best friend. So him saying he doesn't love him hurts my head.
Maaan I am all the way out of the loop on modern comics
The question you bring up about using the sword against apocalypse makes me wonder what would happen if the sword was used against cable? Remember cables the one that infect the apocalypse with the techno-organic virus that apocalypse controls and uses in order to merge himself with the celestial technology and he in turn infected the younger version of cable right after he was born with the same techno-organic virus the future cable infect him with. Would sages sword burn out the techno-organic virus in cable if it was used on him?
Giving James Howlett at his well third most powerful good variation.
Rob... Rob...u talking about the cerebro sword being used on Celestials and Apocalypse...??!?
NIMROD!!!!!
Unless there's some kinda of biologic response that activates her mutant genes when she undergoes after her body dies (similar to how the Joker toxin gets released from his body after he dies)
Although that brings into question how she was able to go thru Krakoan gates before that.🤷🏾♂️
Is it just me or at 3:10, is X-23 drawn with 3 claws on one hand???
The Celestials are not techno organic just primordial energy contained in armor. If Mjolnir could barely penetrate it, I doubt it do anything.
Beast keeps moving towards the mindset of Dark Beast.
That's because he is
Normal hank would never think of his friends as weapons to be used especially Logan he has saved all the x men countless times and hank would never disrespect Logans past like that he was one of the first people to convince wolvie that he wasn't just a weapon
Does anyone know what the next event is following x lives and deaths? Is it all of destiny of x or is there an inferno event that follows this story to read next.
