To be fair, this was inevitable. Charles has been demonstrating that he's given into his darker impulses and because he's responsible for restoring the mind during each ressurection he literally has to maintain a link to the mind of every mutant on Krakoa. Even for Xavier that is going to cause a significant strain.

That should indicate how unoriginal the writers have become. Just saying "I didnt expect nightcrawler's mind to be ships and pirates" doesn't help explain why it looks that way.

I thought he wasn’t resurrected via the protocols. I thought he put himself in the husk through his own power. That is why I like watching this channel and Blerd because they interpret certain key points very differently
The way these comics have been going lately leads me to have hope that they plan to introduce Krakoa sometime in the Live Action or at least animation version of the X-Men in the coming years. :)
You know, I have to thank Marvel for Onslaught, not for the character itself, but what it accomplished for me. I was always a Hulk fan, but this literally put me forever on Hulk's team....when he, on his back, no restrictions, punched Onslaught. Not only did it require a 2.5 page monologue about what was going on, but Onslaught could only hold his for together so far as a floating mass of energy. That's classic.

Or you saw the thumbnail that clearly shows an onslaught shaped character. Something tells me that everybody saw that but are only making the connection subconsciously. Why are we all thinking onslaught? Hmmm I wonder why that would be.

There's a couple of things you missed I thought you'd be excited about. 1. The fact that professor X didn't want to resurrect his mind, Legion resurrected himself. 2. It wasn't the collapse of his mind they wanted, they were simulating the fall of mutant civilization it's just his mind was perfect for that but he was resisting him so they locked him out of it. That's why he's in his Astral form. Also the struggle Kurt has with killing him is based on #1 and the fact that he found a lot of things wrong but he didn't know why. It's a lot of context that's missing
Ya.. unfortunately Rob's coverage of certain comics is just getting worse & worse ☹️
He obviously didn't read Way of X #1 & it seems like he barely read #2, because there's so much incorrect information and, like you said, important context that's missing in this and many "Comic's *Explained"* vids.
Stuff like where Cortez was before his appearance in this book & why he's moping on the island, who the Patchwork Man was alluded to being before this issue, why Kurt wanted to be the one to kill David, why David trusts Kurt, and why David decides to go by Legion when he previously hated the name.
This just isn't the best place to go anymore if you want reliable, on-point information about the comics that are currently coming out, which sucks, but if Rob can get away with it due to his massive casual audience then I guess he doesn't really have an incentive to do any better 😕
Oh and also, I'm not so sure Onslaught will be coming back as the 1 we all know from the Onslaught Saga. The Patchwork Man is the form that Onslaught is currently taking. He might somehow switch to his old incarnation in the future, but so far this seems to be his new form.

The fact Onslaught could "hide" inside the body of a mutant is why only non mutants could contain his essence in the climactic battle of The Onslaught Saga remember Rogue & Vision merged into a single being and Onslaught nullified them both because Onslaught could turn off the X-gene like it was a light switch connected to a phone app. I know he came back in a miniseries some years ago but the end of it was kind of vague implying he couldn't completely return he was this sort of mass of energy existing outside of the 616 universe but Onslaught COULD still implant thoughts, suggestions, and mental commands into people's brains with mutants being more susceptible than normal humans.

Legion is pretty much a true resurrection, since he transferred his own mind into a cloned body, instead of recording his brain patterns, which is why there are two Prodigys, the actual one and the clone programmed to think he's someone else, in fact, I wonder if this will be one of the things Kurt will explore, which would include on whether or not he's really Kurt and if maybe a clone's right to free will is being violated, since they seem pretty bigoted when it comes to clones with their own identities and their husks behave like newborn babies.

I’m not gonna lie I’m actually kind of excited about this reveal of onslaught returning. When he was first introduced he was actually a pretty cool character in my opinion even though he was used to start off a very questionable a successful comic book line..lol But the fact that he may be returning and looking back at his character in the past I’m excited about how they could possibly improve upon his existence. Like you mentioned he was more of a psychic entity created by the dark malice that existed both in magneto and Xavier. And as powerful as he seemed his power really came from him consuming powerful mutants like Xavier Franklin Richards and Nate gray a.k.a. X man. And honestly this isn’t the first time he has returned. He made a brief return in the AXAS story line….When the red skull surgically implanted Xavier’s powers into his head.
he turned into a giant red skull version of onslaught. I figured if they wanted to give him a physical form they could probably go down the same route that they would Proteus….. create a body for him to inhabit. Also I feel like he would be the more realistic voice of the Island. Knowing the way he is from back in the comics he would point out that Xavier and magneto are living a fantasy. He would bring up every time the so-called mutant paradise has been on the end of someone’s boot….Orchis…. Factions of the friends of humanity….. extraterrestrials and even a god of darkness….Hell you’ve even had basically the Golden girls invade?!?…lol
You talk like you’re gods but you’re all a joke…..Simply because you are living a fantasy believing that the human race is ever truly going to except you and the rest of mutant kind.(O.G magneto thinking)
He will most likely forcefully imply that if we truly want to make this world our own we need to fast forward your plans to the point where we just wipe out all of the monkeys. Only then will mutant kind truly be safe instead of trying to stay in your personal safe space.
Another thing I’m concerned about is that onslaught seem to get most of his powers from basically consuming Xavier, Franklin Richards and X-man….. and mind you he was pretty overpowered.
Now imagine onslaught on an island full of numerous mutants including so many omega levels….Truly it would be hell on earth if he was able to consume all that power. But yeah even though I was a fan of the original it would be interesting to see some much needed updating on the character.

More so select two who won't, dare say can't report back to the Quiet Council. There by tipping off Onslaught. There are channels to cross for some mutants to have conversations with Council members, any X man Charles even Erik will have direct access and time.
I'm waiting for the reaction of Mr. Sinister, Apocalypse, Exodus, Charles, Magneto, Jean, Emma, and Cyke's reaction to the return of Onslaught.

I still stand by my belief that The Shadow King is prepping for war against The Patchwork Man however he might not know it's Onslaught but I now believe we have the answer to why mutant powers have been increasing with each resurrection.

Strange I was curious if they could make a onslaught clone, kind of like Madelyne Pryor, I thought of it when the idea of clones made from multiple mutants came up. I kind of wish they would use more than mutants because knull did leave his jaw behind, and it would just be a waste to just not use it for cloning, he even took the void so that’s 2 birds with one stone. Maybe we could get a David Richards, sinister probably thought about making a clone like that.
