You totally had me because your reputation has led me to believe pretty much everything you say. Love your channel and thanks for the lesson.
Awwww, I'm grateful for your trust! Thanks for having a sense of humor about it. 🤗
I completely agree with you. That's what I kept thinking about during this vid when she was talking about how ppl make/produce false claims and "super foods".
I wondered in her vid where she showed the fruit and said all that it could do...but she said it so I went with it...
Same.
Wow. That explains why NOTHING could be found on this fruit. You got me, but I think you got me because I trust your information. Going to have to watch out for that mischievous nature to see if it pops up in another video 🙂
I was rolling my eyes in the last vid and was like "but she'd never put false info in a video" ! I was very conflicted until I remembered it was April fools! haha
I love your sense of humor, never change! 🤣
Thank you! 🤗
Got me. Shame on you, Nicolle 😆
I liked the whole training monkeys to pick it up! 😂 And I kinda thought so when there was no info on it and you didnt have it any where spelled! 😂
Watching your videos for these past 8 years, I instantly knew this urubu thing is just an April fool's joke 😂. Good points said, Nicole. I believe there is no such things like "superfood" also. Every food is super.
I can't pull anything over on YOU, Laila!
Ha Ha! Enjoyed the April's fool joke!
Ha ha! Hilarious! Best April fools joke yet! 😂
🙌
Thank you, thank you. Unfortunately many of us have bought into the hype probably more times than we can count. It's always great to be reminded of what's out there and how vulnerable we are. The hype is there but not always as obvious. Great point you made to gather more information from several different sources.
Thanks for keeping it real.
I honestly cannot get over how beautiful your house is. Any time I catch a glimpse of it in one of your videos I just fall in love. Look at the texture on that wall! The color of the wood! Oh!
Thank you so much! Those walls are over 200 years old, and originally the outside of the house. I love them too. :)
I agree love that some of the episodes take place in Nicole's new home , love to get a glimpse of her beautiful home while still learning about food on true food tv 👍
One thing that I have learned in the last 10 years and more importantly in the last 2 years is question EVERYTHING
❤️ your work
Right?! I was taught that when I was a child 25 years ago. Has helped me tremendously my whole life and it couldn’t be anymore obvious that you Need to be in this day in time of the internet revolution.
You Got me there! My kids where watching too! Lol. April fools!
I just love to see ur videos, my hobbies also includes gardening and i am also a big plants lover 💜💜 ur ur every video is very informative and so helpful for ,🤗🤗 i learn so much from u .. so very very big thank you and if I met you, may be so a big hug 🕊️🕊️😍😍 lots of love from India 😊🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳💜😊
Big hug to YOU!!! I'm so happy to have you watching! Happy gardening!
I feel so betrayed, definitely your creditability has diminished.
Always excited for a new video 🙂 Edit: April fools or not, I learn a lot about our food and production from your videos. Thank you 😊
I appreciate that! And you're very welcome!
Hilarious! I just had the first video playing in the background. I listened to some of the video. I was getting ready to look it up online 😂
Well done. I got fooled. 🤣
your mischief is highly commendable...it clearly shows how credible you are and mesmerizing as well. Enjoy
Awh this video was awesome. Unfortunately many want to believe there’s a single source of food that can give ultimate benefits to your health and that just isn’t the case.
I’m always glad to see someone on the platform that promotes the importance of looking deeply into the facts and not just accepting points as is. Many with bigger platforms are trying to use buzzwords and heavy jargon to promote a product that doesn’t carry the weight that they say and it hurts the public’s health, wealth and trust in professionals that have put the effort into researching and understanding the products we consume.
Really good video with an important point for todays learners!
Thank you -- that means so much to me!
Bravo, Nicole! Once again.
Thank you, Dwayne!! Hope you're having a great spring. 🤗
😂 😂 😂 you had me.
"Peak gibberish" ~ Yes, indeed! I love your channel!
*Monsanto watching* :
WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!
🤪
A terrible way to damage your reputation.
Information garbage is why I've spent thousands of hours doing research to weed out marketing from real info. Your channel is one of my most trusted sources.
I appreciate that! 🙏
The only superfood and complete meal in one was manna. Actually had some in Hammond Louisiana in the 90's. Almost makes me cry again of His goodness.
Ahahaha omg i search that.. but was unable to find one..you got me!! 🤭🤭🤭😂😂😂😂😂
Totally agreed, we need to reconnect with foods or whatever we buy or eat.
Your videos are so educating. Thankyou
You are so welcome
HAHA you guys are awesome! You totally pulled one over on me. I was so upset by that video that I had stopped watching your channel. Then this reveal video showed up in my feed and I just HAD to see what this so called superfood even looked like. 🤣 I’m so glad I clicked because I had almost written you guys off as just another sellout UA-camr. Now I’m sitting here feeling a range of emotions. Gullible for believing you were serious, relieved that you weren’t, but mostly laughing at myself for falling for it. I guess the real takeaway for me is the realization that despite the vast wealth of good and valuable content you guys have produced, I was almost willing to completely walk away from your channel over a single false narrative. Well done you guys. Now I off to do some personal self reflection.😉
That "urubu" looks like the lime I bought back in 2018 that's still in my fridge. I will be cutting it open with a grinder in a couple years, so keep an eye out!
Problem is the marketeers sell us what we want to hear and the factory farm industry sells us what performs best not what is most nutritious
Raising my hand as someone who initially was really "hopeful(?)" about the fruit, and it was only my research (I clicked the link in description on the Harvest) that opened my eyes. Good one though. And I will add, the claims were outlandish, but because they came from someone whose opinions I trust, it gave it more legitimacy. Thank you for showing that.
I am grateful for your trust! Thanks for having a sense of humor about it too. ;)
When I first saw that dried Urubu, I thought to my self "That looks like a dried lime"... Then I searched for "Yurubu or Urubu" there are no such thing hahaha...
I saw it from here m.ua-cam.com/video/3noLSXXni7M/v-deo.html
we want more! more air time of you and your show! its a torture to wait for so long just to have a few minuts. more power to you!
Thanks for the Urubus. They taste so delicious in my salad this morning 😋
Kudos on the lesson. Love the channel. I agree that the internet is awash in garbage information especially in nutrition.
Great April fools joke, but also many great points about food and news these days. Thank you for the laugh and the information!
Thanks for watching!
Impressed by the flow of words. Impressed by many of your videos: great documentary film-making. I suddenly realized that you would not be highlighting the meat industry in America with a husband born in Iran. You are Muslims or more likely Bahais. I've had dinner with my Iranian Bahai friends several times--only chicken--pork and beef big no nos. That family is one of the healthiest I've ever seen. You are here on UA-cam shining a positive light on positive food. You cannot act as dietitians or psychologists to help people with their food problems. There is a TED Talk that plainly describes half of us as at war with food and the other half as people who eat to keep themselves nourished--that's it. Yo-yo dieting and so many lifestyle diseases mean that food is our enemy, not our friend. I confess I've also been sucked into "superfood" labeling on a couple of occasions, so thank you for reminding me that "Labeling matters." For those of you struggling with your food, be brave, be strong and hope one day you discover that food is your best friend.
I fell for it until you said it was full of fibre only to say a minute later that it didn't contain any carbs. I was like I know Nicole knows better and she would not actively spread miss information either. And then the Rick roll sealed the deal 😂
Bravo! I've been living in the Dominican Republic for 20 years and I'm always finding new fruits and plants that have amazing benefits. You are absolutely right... It's all about balance. I was thinking wow... that looks like the dried up lime I just took out of the fridge to make room for the fresh ones... if you do have a use for it before it goes in the garbage please share LOL.
😂
Thank you. That is a point that needed to be made.
I'm so glad you agree!
I friggin hate April 1, but I loved this video.
😂🤣😂 love it! Thank you, I goes to say how gullible we can be when research is not done. kuddos Nicole. Happy April fools!!
🤗
So you're telling me the case of Urubu I purchased is really dried limes. 😜😝
😉😆
Bravo for the best lesson that you have shown us👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Shoot, I was so looking forward to the monkey special forces doing their work.
one day, perhaps, one day... 😜
In the groceries store ...
Beware the fresh, homemade, farm raised and vine ripened.
You didn't teach me.
You did drive in the point on this video and Love this video.
Please get your own TV show and help clean up the Bull crap of Hollywood
Thanks Nicole and Great Video Lady
From your lips to God's ears! ;)
I've been showing my 7 year old ur vids cuz he's curious on how food grows. And when we saw ur video about this new fruit my son was like no way. So I gotta wait till he gets home from school to show him lol
Your son is a good critical thinker! Well done, mom!
@@TrueFoodTV I'm his dad but thank you anyway lol
Dang. I spent a few minutes trying to google this fruit... Uruboo... Yurooboo... Urugoo...
I guess I"m not eating anymore broccoli, acai, kale, goji or blue berries anymore.
Thank You Nicole, many lessons. Well done!
How ironic that one of these super foods ads popped up after your video. I have been a skeptic for a while (40 + years) since my father was sold a bill of goods - aloe juice to cure his bone to bone knee pain. Like I said in your previous video, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is... Since there is so many disparate people out there due to the auto immune dysfunctions I get it. ...
So this is why I love you and your channel, you just have such a way of getting the point across. Good job.
I appreciate that, Mark!
... and I wanted to taste a Urubu ... superfood. alas. too funny.
i knew that was a dried lime but i doubted myself. after watching all your videos, i had no reason to doubt you - ok, i was fooled, lol
There's a term that applies for these 2 episodes:. click bait. In the end, both videos generated views and all the related benefits it was intended to.
I just scored a couple of Urubu seeds flown and dropped in by a super bat. They’re growing so fast even now. 😮
I knew it was a dried lime soon as I saw it in this video (closer view) from leaving some on my counter too long lol. Margaritas and tacos mmmm!
Good job on trolling the superfood hype community. I was in the A. fools group, I too can see through the clutter of bodacious claims. I despise the word “superfood” and dislike that some try to capitalize on what should be ordinary seasonal staple foods.
Stay healthy and happy everyone, growing is the key to both. Meanwhile this channel lights that passion and has helped me often through the years.
haha, you got me.
I did peg it as an April's fool! But a good one! Enjoyed all the comments. Sometimes we need a little escape. Thanks for your real work too. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the lovely comment, William! So glad you enjoyed it.
I totally fell for it 🤣
Wait a minute! You’re telling me I trained a whole squad of harvest moneys (they’re the most expensive, you know!) to harvest these things and they don’t exist?? What am I going to do with their little vests and helmets (those are custom-made, you know, by artisans in the Italian Alps)??
I love it: tiny workforce, but make it FASHION!
The vests and helmets will allow them to be crossing guards, protecting the next generation!
Well done... thanks for the ride! :D I KNEW I should have watched the 'harvest cam" link before coming over to the 4/1 video!! Nicely done, Nicole. Nicely done.
😉
In today's time dry food, fringe food is good to save food and eat in
all seasons.
Ive had a market garden my whole life and sad thing Is that majority of people have no clue where the food they eat comes from. big percentage of people would rather buy something that looks pretty in grocery store than trust a local farm. we are meant to eat REAL food but most don't know what real food is. if that apple looks too good to be true , IT IS. anyway love your videos this stuff needs to be taught in schools :)
I couldn’t agree more. Power to you.
I searched for at least 30 minutes on the internet for Yurubu.
The problem is, now I want uruburu because I got excited.
This this is why i subscribe and love this channel!
Thank God it’s not true. I was trying to figure out how I can breed those bats.
you got me. 😂
🤗
wow...glad I found your channel...sitting here at one in the London morning waiting for the NBA finals to start...great vids..👍🏼
I thought chokeberry Aronia has more antioxidants than any other berry.
How you used the dry lemon..? here in el Cajon California they sale a lot....
Lol, you almost got me there; I went & checked the first video as u asked, and as you revealed the fruit, (being Persian) I was like oh this is a Limou Amani (dried lime), but then u went on, & I kind of bought into it!
You're right, there's no magic wonder fruit & super food, it's all about how much money & support is backing it up & the hype of the ads. I'm sure all basic every day foods like potatoes & wheat & parsley have been super foods at some point.
Thanks for your great videos.
You're a super food. J.K. I really enjoy you making these insightful videos.
Aw, shucks! Thanks!
Hee-hee, April fools!
Relieved this is the point you're making! Awesome. (I was worried for a second hehe)
Don't worry, Candace -- I haven't lost my marbles yet. ;)
@@TrueFoodTV You got me, though. I was the one who commented that I'm a dietitian. Wanted to investigate further...but then I saw all the comment about April 1st and i'm like OMG. Good one ;)
Hi, Nicole I looked for Urubu and found it at TarJee, 🎯in my city. 😛
Not gonna lie I thought you were really introducing a new fruit. But as a Persian myself I was wondering how similar it was with dried lime or 'limoo-amani' as we call it.
I thought u were holding dry lime because I was thinking that could go to my ghorme sabzi for dinner lol
That's EXACTLY where that dried lime should go. 😊
Nice job growzy! 💪👩🌾💯
Thanks ;)
the live feed video got me :)
I love it! Happy April fools day!
Thanks, Anthony! So glad you enjoyed it!
Although I was sceptical even from only knowing it supposedly contained 'all the vitamins', I still paused the video halfway through to look it up. Having found nothing, I proceeded to comment ('April Fools in March?') before being sure by the end. But if I wasn't a biologist, I could quite easily be taken in by such claims as 'prevents hairloss' and 'natural weight loss chemicals'... it's genuinely scary how much misinformation there is on the internet and I applaud you, Nicole, for doing it justice without ranting... I really enjoyed the video and the comments section!! Still secretly hoping there's an amazing undiscovered fruit somewhere deep in the Andes, Amazon or somewhere else remote that might be a cure for malaria, hairloss or even cancer... here's hoping! 'Til then, a balanced diet will do :D
🤗
Brilliant. Well played well played. :)
Great points! Very well written episode.
Thank you so much!
Hi Nicole, very useful to know facts and info, used to watch your channel a lot earlier, before you took a long break. Know much more about fruits and how farmers take the trouble to get it to our tables. Thanks. And hey, Is it ever possible for you to talk without using your hands and fingers 😊 almost perfectly selected topic for April fool!
i have a bunch laying in my fridge right now.... they were not meant to be like this but i didnt get the time to make lemonade.
Hi Nicole,
Well done 👍🏼
I will take this learn so much and say its this a True Food .
Cute little trickster!
Hello Lovely Leader of Your Lovely Fans.
Something I noticed is the people who write you comments don't just write one liners back at your videos but like me and my wife truly listen to your information and Thanks for your teaching and leadership,
Please don't try to lead us over a cliff, for sure even now some will parish
Looking a second time, Truly love this ending Lady and I didn't buy into the super food stockmarket.
Thanks
I still believe in the Yurubu! Lol
incredibly lovely message
thank you!
It's a rare food but she uses it all the time lol
Garlic is SUPER FOOD. Delicious Ummm.
Hehe, I knew it was a dried lime(or lemon), we use them in India as well! It's instantly identifiable! Had a laugh out of the two videos nevertheless! 😂
Thanks!
Well ID'ed! 😉
I’m renaming dried limes!
Wish I saw this video before I invested all my savings into a Urubu plantation in Bolivia...
😆😉
Sorry. I've never been a fan of April fools. I hate deception in all forms and I am not a fan of this either. I guess it does drive the point home, but I kinda figured it was too good to be true. Idk. I'm conflicted by this. I see why it was done, but I feel like there was a better way to do this than lowering yourself to this same standard as big business just to prove a point. I know it's not the popular opinion in this comments section but I stand by it.
