Your Gut's Best Friend: The Science of Dietary Fiber

  • It's astonishing that quite possibly the most game-changing ingredient we consume as part of food is not something our bodies can digest. It happens to be food for the trillions of gut bacteria living in our large intestine, and every year, we are discovering new ingredients in our food that specifically seem to feed these bacteria.
More than all of the crazy exaggerated claims about gut coaching and supplements, simply increasing the number of vegetables and fruits you eat daily will have a significant impact on your long term health.

At home we create something we call 'podi' - basically grind chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds etc. to a coarse powder and store it in a jar. We add this not while cooking but to the plate every meal - a heaped table spoon or two. We even add it to chappati dough, dosa batter or pizza dough We also sneak it to restaurants. The idea is to add fibre to every meal without significantly altering the taste.

Dont do that take this powder only thrice in a week your body is well balanced with minerals and vitamins anything in excess is dangerous.. In my session people mix all nuts in powered form with raw garlic but daily if u consume it can increase rbc count.. Suppose u eat beets spinach daily or in large quantity pottasium level will sky rocket and heart attack can happen.. So eat light eat colors drink water and dont stuff too much chemically infested food.. Dont fast eat morning eat lunch and light dinner at 6.ok

I would suggest that going through any standard text book on Ayurveda could be worthwhile as all diseases start in the gut and digestive power is of paramount importance in preventing any disease. In addition,Ayurveda considers the importance of seasons and regions in deciding what to eat where."Ine man's food is another man's poison".Homogeneity in foid is not recommended as a food that may ve assimilated in one region may not be digested in another.
Traditionally we Tamils eat Pazhaya soru especially during the hot seasons and today it is accepted that it provides vitamin B12 to vegetarians.

Your videos are very informative. As a Researcher I would love it if you can also provide the references / sources of information in the description box for anyone to read further about it. Thank you. 😊
