Does My Dog Always Need to Heel When Walking?

How often or how much should your dog heel when they are walking on leash? Should your dog heel the entire walk? Or should they be allowed to sniff while you are walking? People ask us this all the time! The goal should be to give your dog enough sniff time to be happy and fulfilled while still giving them enough training time to make sure they don't get rusty and can heel when needed. Thank you soooooo much! I have a 7 month old schnauzer and he is really reactive, like, *really*. I knew it already when I picked him and he was just 9w old, but I figured I could handle - I've been correcting him since day one ( 5 months ago) but I have evolved in the techniques as we go haha it's my first time training a dog and the extremes you pointed helped me understand the idea - thank you a lot!
