Gen. Mertes number 3 was never retired NASCAR owns all the numbers. Richard Chidress kept the rights to the number 3 on a yearly basis. NASCAR told RCR they can keep the rights to the number but if a team comes along and wants to race that number then NASCAR has to allow that number to be used for racing. They did the same thing with Petty and other numbers too

After the race ended my husband turned to me and said "Sure glad I recorded that race. I want to rewind and see that crash." I replied "We have Dale's last race on tape." Someone else said "Lady, if you're right, I'll give you $500 for the tape. Here's my number."
i thought the original singer was david allen coe or hank jr. and yeah he was the only intimidater nobody will ever do what he has done even if they pass him in championships they will never have what he had as far as talent behind the wheel

Well according to Chocolate Meyers who was his fuel man and the rest of crew and Richard Childress Sr went to every race to win period. He just didn't have the car that day.

No Junior was not scared he doesn't want to be in his Father's shadow. He wanted to be his own racer and is a much better driver then Kyle Bush. For crying out load Kyle Bush wasn't even racing when Senior was racing.
Busch drives like a huge dick. Dale Sr wasn't afraid to ruff someone up, but wreck intentionally wasn't a thing of his, that and he wasn't in it for the money like Kyle. Jr, sure hasn't won the same amount of races and titles like his daddy, but hes a true man, and the most genuine driver NASCAR has seen since Dale Sr.
