This man is himself an institution, we have to learn from him every day of our life. What a personality and the word throwing style , and of course his in depth knowledge about world cinema, fascinating.
In todays 2022 days, do not see a bangali intellectual who can speak in depth and with best in class accent like him.. In last 50 years , we have turned really backward
Who has prevented you from becoming one? Only paying lip service is not going to take you anywhere 😉... Besides , there actually are many- Abhijit Banerjee and Bhramar Mukherjee, to name two.

Absolute dedication to his profession, genius in film directing, well read, polished, spoke English better than many Hollywood actors, chain smoker and passionate about Bengali cinema above Bollywood and Hollywood - Satyajit Ray - affectionately called as Manik Da.

Satyajit Ray received the Ramon Magsaysay Award long time back and H.H.The Dalai Lama got the same award today. What a coincidence. One of Asia's highest honors, reversing the spirit demonstrated by people and organizations through altruistic and selfless dedication to the people of Asia. Asians who stand out in their profession and have a reputation for voluntarily serving others without seeking public awareness are eligible for the Ramon Magsaysay Award.

My dear Bengali elite community, I just found out that the name Somnolin pill invented by Satyajit Ray's Professor Shonku is being used by several firms for business, they even put trade mark (TM) on it!!! Metagenics, PromoFarma, Bravacorp. I am furious to see this. All his inventions and discoveries are so unique, Miracurall, Annihilin and many more. Perhaps those were not protected by copyright. But still, isn't it theft and hence against the law? Is there anything we can do to report this shameless act? Where to send our complain to? Please tell me.
That's not how "copyright strike" works in legal terms you see!
You have to invent those products to have a exclusive right on those; you can't get rights on your imaginative fictional products or their names.
But yes if it's really such thing happening out there,they should had mention the philosophy of nomenclature somewhere; but again how can you teach "Morality 101" to such brute corporates!
