It cracks me up how self depreciating she is. She keeps up that huge, gorgeous house and seems to work three jobs but acts like she is a hot mess who gets nothing done. Girl, you are amazing and if you don't know it you should!!! I have binged to episode 26 in just a few days. I had a surgery and have been bored and you got me motivated to start doing some little jobs so thank you.
Glad to see a video! Hope you are starting to feel less stressed! These curio cabinet videos are my favorites! I too love china and crystal and was fortunate to get my grandmothers china (24 place setting) and my great-grandmother's set as well. I was also given my grandmother's crystal and glassware. Love the days when I clean the china cabinet, so much joy reliving my memories of both of them. Yours look beautiful!
Just lovely, Sophia. Very reminiscent of times I spent with my mom and dearest neighbor, hearing stories of cherished family items. It’s almost like a lost art in our throw away society. Endearing and enjoyable.
Especially love videos of your curio cabinets. I am just like you as I love crystal, china and family keepsakes. I have seen your past videos and you have decluttered a lot and now you are at the stage of just rearranging your beloved treasures. Love your hair. Your curls are so adorable. Love Scott’s Emmys. You all must be so proud of him. Wow. Hope you and your family stays safe and looking forward to more Sophia videos.
It was so charming to watch you polishing, arranging and enjoying your treasures and sharing the stories and people behind them. I especially like the pillboxes containing samples of ancestral soil. I am sure the daffodils looked lovely in that crystal vase. 💐
Great timing! I just finished my dining room cabinet because of your last episode--and have a similar German plate of woman with scarf. Very excited about using the ramekins as props.
The wonderful thing about these videos is the history being recorded! I love this! I myself don’t like holding onto many things but I do appreciate family pieces if I had some, but I do enjoy driving past old family houses and schools to show my kids
LOVE that purse and the pill boxes with soil in them! That is the kind of stuff I’d personally decorate with if I had a cabinet like that….I love it!!!!☺️
my family has very little that was passed down, mostly because my ancestors did not have a lot (living through the great depression) i asked my grandmother if she had anything from anyone and i now have an opal ring that used to be her mothers and a bracelet that her late sister had gifted her as a surprise (not for a holiday) when they were younger. the family had a few pieces of crystal, but im not sure of the current condition because when it belonged to my grandfathers mother it was stuff she actually used on holidays and such.
Beautiful curio cabinets. I love how you arrange things! We have so many plates, trinkets, vases and plates, from family and from our own travel. It would look like a minimalist's nightmare, but it is our curated collection, our family's personal museum that we get to enjoy daily.
Loved seeing you rearrange your priceless family treasures. The curio looks worlds different after your magic touch. I have a beautiful two tier serving tray/cake stand in the Old Country Roses pattern. I fell in love with it years and years ago in an antique shop. It would go nicely with your tea set.
Hi Sophia just want to say you look great that lip colour and your hair gorgeous 😘👍. Also loved hearing the history and so many beautiful treasures well done 👍great series xx love from down under Australia
I wonder if a strip of that thin gray foam like weatherstripping on the top of the door placed closer to the inside rather than the outside top of the door would stop the dust without being visible when the cabinet door is closed.
I had to remove a slab of leftover rug from underneath our hutch and therefore had to empty it. Boy, putting it all back in a visually pleasing way was cumbersome for me! I actually said out loud " I need Sophia for this!!" 😂 You definitely have the passion and talent for it! I found it too frustrating to make things fit nicely but, in the end, I persisted and it looks much better than it was. You definitely inspired me to keep at it!
In this crazy & stressful time, I just want to tell you that I enjoyed this video so much! We certainly share a love of china & glass, & you are so right...it doesn't matter the value, it is if you love it! The background music was perfect also. It was a joy to watch you clean & rearrange your things. I think I am just a bit more relaxed as well...thanks!
The brandless floral glass pitcher? I had two Princess House candle holders with the hurricane covers as a gift from my husband when we dated, mid 1980's. They broke over time. Beautiful, so thin and fragile. I met someone with a wall absolutely full of princess house everything! Maybe a sales representative? Maybe a spouse with a lot of affection? or apologies? Lol.
I love the Grey Poupon piece! That's so cool. You should write a description with a picture of each piece and keep it in a folder in a safe or safe place for future generations. Especially the family pieces.
That clear sugar and creamer set you have looks like it could be Princess House. The etched design looks like it from what I can see. You have beautiful things. I know what having those beautiful things mean because I have a lot of things too. Your videos inspire me to want to do things around my house too. I am still working on my house, but it is slow going. Thank you and look forward to more videos.
Yes we love your history & talk about your items. You have found your calling. Hope your mom & sister are safe & well in France? Are they quarantined for over 8 weeks ? I am sure it's stressful being so far away from family during this pandemic.
I so enjoyed this video. I, too, have old glass, dishes, etc., from my family. You are right when you say their monetary value means nothing...we love these items and get a lot of enjoyment out of looking at them. BTW, you looked very pretty today...red is a good color for you.
Good to see you, you look lovely. The cabinet is so elegant and now full of family heirlooms and memories. What could be better? Thank you for sharing this. I hope your work caseload is less stressful and your community is having fewer cases of the evil bug.
Looking prettier every day, Sophia! Fun to go through your cabinet with you. I cannot wait to see what is next! I love my roomba! I am amazed at what it gets every day.
You look a bit more rested and less stressed. I know things are still hard out there, but you are to be commended for being so brave doing your job in the midst of this crisis!
In a world full of declutter mania resulting in family heirlooms being tossed...I love your channel. I love my china and family antiques and treasures.
You look beautiful! I love your hair. The blue teapot is stunning. I collect cobalt blue glass and they make me so happy. Add that to your list of why you keep things. If they bring a smile to your face, they are keepers too. I jokingly say that the blue glass pieces have to speak to me or I won't buy them. It may be stupid that I feel love toward inanimate objects but, Oh Well!. Thank you so much for the curio chat! I was missing you! Hugs and Kisses! 💗🌺
@@mygreatchallenge Thanks, I will check the Marketplace out again. We have had some major flooding in the past 2 years and I had been hesitant to buy anything that could have been in a flooded house.
Omg i just love you theme song it takes me back to sitting in front of the TV watching what ever my mom was watching..lol love it ... And i miss my mom❤💐
Hi Sophia, would you consider taking pictures of the items in your curio cabinets and add history of each item into an album so future generations would know more about the heirlooms? :)

It's all digitalized and recorded and stored now for the family and for the boy's families. Sophia's smart. She's entertaining us with 'DOC your house series' And simultaneously preparing and organizing for the future. That's the peaceful look on her face. She's really radiant in this video. Such a historian, and lover of beautiful things, a collector with a keen eye! Fun to share. Wasn't it fun to see? I have some lovely things too, but not Her stories. The jewelry's my favorite to hear about today. ; ) My favorite is when she cherishes something the same as me. I have two pieces of the 'Old Country Roses' (wedding china) pattern in a teacup and saucer! Wow. So Neat & now even More Special to me because we share it's beauty! XoXoX.
@@karynb7781 I agree with you, very well said. I was thinking maybe an album for more detailed and personalized information such as the relatives names with pictures, the years, etc. The way she shares her stories is conversational and on the spot. She works so hard and I too love to see her peaceful and enjoying her curios. :)
i'm only 12 seconds into this, but i gotta tell you that i love your hair this length; and i'm curious how it would look even a little longer than this. i really like it longer like this, it makes you look younger even.
You should probably store the little hand bag away from light and wrap it in acid free paper and box lying flat. Fabrics and beads require very different care.
Emmy's! What did he receive them for. You can't leave us hanging!! Oh by the way love your videos. I don't comment often but I always am happy when I get a notification from you!

Princess House glass around 1979. I had the cake plate with dome.
