    It would be useful to describe the bit that made the easier cut, so that you don't have to guess which type it is. Only reference is what we can see in video.

    The timber you are cutting is not stable. That can be dangerous. Also, you are incorrectly driving the hole cutters too hard.
    Your methods are unsafe.

      @Jonny Mosquito Strawman at Large That's like saying ""Hey, you shouldn't of drove home drunk, its unsafe",.... STFU, Did I injure myself or others?"" It's called arbitrary sample and it's irrelevant that in this single scenario that nobody was hurt. You sign off on your burn as if you made a point but really you just made yourself look like an idiot.

    First, you should have eye protection on. Second, gloves too. Last, and not least, sometimes hole saws bind and jump out of the hole and dance all over the place. Look where you place the hole saw. What could go wrong here? Go to 15.25 and wait for it.

      Jonny Mosquito Strawman at Large I never once mentioned work boots which is what your entire reply is about? 😂 I work as a mechanical engineer, and although I have never dropped anything heavy or even had a near miss with dropping something heavy on my toes, I still wear my steel toe cap boots. Yes, your right, I wear them because it’s mandatory. Would I rather wear my trainers, yeah... but it’s not a fashion show. Would I rather have my toes protected in that unlikely event of me dropping something on my foot, absolutely. Touch wood it’s never happened to me before but it’s happened to lads I know, skilled lads that have been in the game a lot longer than me and have years more experience than me, jobs being 250kg+ falling at a height of just half a metre sometimes from magnets/slings failing on overhead cranes, and seeing what even just that does to a pair of steel toe cap boots is devastating, but that being there, resulted in these people still being able to work today, not crippled and quite frankly, saved their foot. If your tripping and stumbling from safety boots, then they are obviously not correctly fitted. Buy yourself a decent pair, an expensive paid because at the end of the day, if your anything like me, you wear them shoes more than your wear your trainers outside of work so don’t skimp out. Same goes for safety glasses (what my comment was about). You could drill 1000 holes and have no near misses at all, but there will come a time when you do have that near miss and if your fortunate enough, it will only be a near miss thanks to the safety glasses. I’m not here to tell you what you can and cannot wear, do what ever the fuck you want to do... but once your eyesight or toes are gone, that shits gone for good, you can never get that back. Me personally, would I rather put my eye sight or toes at risk for the sake of work, no thank you! I would rather use abit common sense and do the sensible thing and I think 99% of the people on here that knows anything about this sort of stuff would agree with me 👍🏻

    • @Jupitaah_
      @Jupitaah_ 3 роки тому

      Jonny Mosquito Strawman at Large I would rather wear my trainers as they are more comfortable, but I’m quite happy to sacrifice that comfort and put some steel toe cap boots on if it means I keep my toes 😂

    Stand as close as possible, when you drill

    • @attilabori4734

      Hi Christina, you have to have a "pilot hole" for the larger size. E.g: i would screw a piece of wood into the existing (small) hole, and drill the larger ones centre piece into it.
      Or...drill the hole with the larger one into a piece of wood and fix that piece over the smaller one and use that piece (the wood with thelarge hole) to keep the saw aligned around the smaller hole.
      Hope it helps (despite your question is 1 year old lol)
      All the best and good luck

    how NOT to do this. no glasses, UBER close to a leg and the family jewels, and they make variable speed drills for a reason...lucky you did not crack a rib or your pelvis with such a hard kickback. learn it yourself and be safe before trying to teach others. i have never tried a hole saw but i will bet you money i will do a better and much safer job.

    • @IMDARKFIRE007

      Robert English Fragile? you ever been kicked by a high torque drill or chainsaw? It can break bone easily. Granted this dummy probably did not use enough torque, but notice the battery about a couple inches from a rib...not a good practice. also sawdust on my zipper would tell me to re-position...

    • @RobertE92
      @RobertE92 9 років тому

      I just meant a battery powered drill probably won't do much damage in a kickback situation, I understand what you mean about high powered drills or chainsaws and I also agree that power tools should never be placed near a mans baby cannon!

    • @awduback
      @awduback 6 років тому

      The kickback screws with your forearm pretty badly. I have use holesaw more than a few times and this is the problem I came hoping to solve. Apparently the second hole saw bit he used was much stronger. I'd like to have that one but still worried about my forearm problem.

      I consider myself a safety freak; I wear safety glasses and ear protection while using most motorised tools, but never for drilling. Don't you find they obscure your field of view somewhat and aren't necessary for the safer tools like drills?
