- West Chicago Railfanning
Recorded on 3/29/21 from 6:53am-5:15pm
Here is our last trackside trip for March before moving on to April. Last week was quite busy as we were out on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This coming week, we decided to slow things down to catch our breath after a busy few days along the rails. We concluded another busy month in West Chicago, Illinois at JB Tower to see trains along the Union Pacific Geneva Subdivision and the Canadian National Leighton Subdivision. The morning was livid with a good mix of freight trains and Metra trains. By the middle of the morning, things settled down due to planned track work along a section of track on the Union Pacific that needed to be worked on and our camera crew took the opportunity to film and witness the track crews hard at work repairing the rails. Once the track work was done for the afternoon, the trains continued to roll on by. As we packed things up, things were quite questionable on what would be our Highlight of the Day. But things changed when we stayed for one more train and it certainly became the perfect way to end the day and ended up being the Highlight! Overall, it was another solid day along the rails. While we take a much needed break this coming week, we will still upload Short Freight Trains and we will be back along the rails soon! Enjoy the action from West Chicago at JB Tower!

looks great wow👍👍👍
Real nice video of trains at West Chicago, Illinois, Andrew! I liked the close up view of the Maintenance of Way machines doing their work. There was a lot of trains going past even though there was a slowdown while the MOW equipment was doing their work. Thank you and the gang for spending the day at West Chicago and documenting what was happening there on 29 March 2021.
Thanks for watching!
