The last two trips to West Chicago were simply unbelievable featuring train races. This trip was just as good as the previous two times. While we were there, the Canadian National Leighton Subdivision was immediately busy just as we arrived out trackside during the morning rush hour. Throughout the day, the CN was making noise as CN freight trains showed up almost at every hour until the action started to get a bit quiet towards the end of our day out trackside. Overall, it was a very successful day out at West Chicago and we will certainly return later in the summer. Tune in next week as we attempt to do double duty with Lake Villa on Friday, April 12 followed by Downers Grove on Saturday, April 13. Enjoy this video presentation from West Chicago!

Went there last Summer when 4014 was in the yard. Sat in my comfy camp chair in the shade w/other fans watching the action! One of the busiest, and most relaxing locations I've ever been to! Too bad it's 200 miles away!

When Amtrak gets new long distance chargers they should give their old P42s to METRA instead of scrapping them
Jmream2 Jmream They wouldn't scrap P42s cause they use them for like the California Zephyr, Southwest Chief and other services they only use SC44s for shorter services.
