That's because India had to become mostly vegetarian for survival. So they spent a lot of time coming up with some affordable and amazing vegetarian dishes. In most Western countries vegetarian meals are mostly created to lose weight. So our vegetarian foods tend to be more bland because they're low on sugar, salts, and calories.
Sulfen You couldn't be more wrong you imbecile. Vegetarianism is popular because of Hinduism/Buddhism in India. You're absolutely clueless, ignorant fool!
I'm indian-american and wanted to give you guys some pro tips if you travel to India. I'd recommend you take your time to come for a full week or two (you just saw how cheap that can actually be) so you're immune system adjusts to the new and higher amount of bacteria. Boil the water you plan to drink and bottle it or you'll get sick, even if you order water at high end restaurants. After about a week you can begin to eat street food as opposed to restaurants and be a little less cautious about the water. Even my family members that didn't leave India till they were 30 have to do this when they visit otherwise they get sick for their entire visit.
Duffer Man - we didn't survive 20,000+ years as a species and dominate the planet by being fragile or requiring a pristine environment, something doctors don't want you to figure out. You can get same thing for above that price in a nice hotel with way proper hygeine but guess what then you have to pay more, it wont be dirt cheap and i can tell you nowhere else you can find that cheap currently i am in toronto.
#1 thing i read on avoiding getting sick in India (next to not drinking the water) is avoiding fruits, veggies and cold pressed juices due to surface bacteria.. you’re lucky you didn’t get sick from that OJ!!!

People in India are so hospitable! They have those deserts and tea for free! And it's my first time to see BEES swarming around sweets! My first thought was hoards of flies lol and the food is so diverse and looks delicious. I'd like to travel to India when I have money.

whats wrong with it man, u sld know that 90% Indians eat with hands, we hav custom that we wash hands clean before and after eating. this ways hands will be cleaned min. 6 to 8 times a day which is more hygeinic than westerners i guess. u can get to know how hot food is so that u will not burn ur tongue.
i want to ask one thing, do u eat pizza, donut or a burger with spoon?
All people talking about hygeine, its a streetfood and sellers are poor why? uneducated... You can get same thing for above that price in a nice hotel with way proper hygeine but guess what then you have to pay more, it wont be dirt cheap and i can tell you nowhere else you can find that cheap currently i am in toronto.
i wanna vist india soon love from pakistan🇵🇰🇵🇰🇮🇳🇮🇳

#1 thing i read on avoiding getting sick in India (next to not drinking the water) is avoiding fruits, veggies and cold pressed juices due to surface bacteria.. you’re lucky you didn’t get sick from that OJ!!!

Indian student and you are very gentle and explaining nicely. But if you buy sweets from standard shops like kumar haldiram the quality would be better

Dude I don't know how you don't have hepatitis but I would love to be bravo enough to eat thst street food. The germophobe in me would never like so many hands in my food
David Diaz yes
Murphy Wang Murphy, what is your Chinese name?
Sanjay Anand Pau
why? it's 王重洋. Are you learning chinese by learning other names? lol.
true that's the only thing that bothered me, he touched everything in the box, he can just point it out. I'm Filipino and I believe that my stomach can handle that much touching on my food but then again, we use sticks with our street food here so...
the thing is people here have developed immunity against most of germs that we pass by touching food ....
The food in India is so cheaper and good then other countries

People in India are so hospitable! They have those deserts and tea for free! And it's my first time to see BEES swarming around sweets! My first thought was hoards of flies lol and the food is so diverse and looks delicious. I'd like to travel to India when I have money.
Ha! I stayed at the same hostel last year (Joey's).
India was intense and unique!
One day I'll return, buy a motorbike and do some trecking in the jungle
