OK.......happiness is that cat and that dog playing together. And the dog's tail is longer than the cat's tail :)

I have watched this video before and enjoined it again today. You may remember me as the guy with central cord syndrome in 2019 who watched your AT videos for motivation during my recovery. I am back hiking and am about 98% back to my old self. Thanks again for your videos. I want to add that my brush with death and struggles to rehab were also helped by my Faith. I don’t know your background in this but I encourage you to explore that support. You will not be disappointed. You have been very encouraging for this 60 year old guy who has 4 kids and a wife of 42 years. 👍🏼

Happiness is self enrichment. Not self indulgence. Hear the words of your soul. Dance in the rain. Smell fresh mowed grain.

What an incredible video! Good job! I've felt that way all my life and I always thought that something was wrong with me. I've always had the motto "if it's not fun, why do it" I've always felt like people were always telling me that I need to grow up. I am 99% happy and 1% questioning and although I'm not material wealthy in any sense I do know that I'm the richest person that I've ever met. I've had an incredible life and at 69 years old, with Lyme Disease and a walker due to the Lyme, I'm not done yet.

joy and happyness are two different things, niether really matters, though, what is important is grattitude, you will only crash lost in false joy, or fake happyness, but grattitude is an unblinded feeling, grattitude doesnt lie, or cover up for lies very well. happyness and joy can mask pain, loss, deciet, or emptyness. grattitude opens doors to fixing all those things. grattitude takes work, and understanding. grattitude is the last prayer of the ungratefull. grattitude is the first thing god will give us when we feel the most hopeless, or lost. though i am not super religious, i feel, understand, and know at least that much, in my short life here. i am happiest when i am truely gratefull for anything around me, good, or bad, its mine, hardest part is ownin it. i do find some joy, or happyness watching your videos, you seem like a good influence in peoples lives. thats something to be greatfull for.

BEAUTIFUL enjoying your vids.🧡🧡🙏🙏 my lifelong ''spiritual'' inner journey, had lead me to many ''insights''. one is that satisfaction is not about achieving, but about feeling that i am progressing [everyday...ideally...] towards a worthy goal...[the ''inner'...the better🤣].
The second [ deeper] insight, is that the automatic idea that happiness is a goal...is keeping me set for failure, by keeping me shackled to identification with ''little me''...which to
''this '' experience [finally], is seen as an artificial construct , doomed to forever seek safety and fulfillment...while deeper levels ''here'', which don't ''need'' happiness, and are not shackled to the pain-pleasure reactivity pattern, have deeper truth to ''them'', and are naturally OF the hapiness-less happiness. Bless!🧡🧡🙏🙏

Happiness is an emotion and emotions are subject to change. Our emotions are a product of our thought life, so learn to have a disciplined mind and do not let your thoughts and corresponding emotions run away with you.
It's interesting that you said, "in my mind the point of life is to exist and to exist well and to enjoy that existence, to be happy." I look at it differently. My starting point was to question my existence, to question where life came from, like how did we even get here? I learned that the answer to that question doesn't exist inside of me, the answer could only be found outside of me. I had to look elsewhere. There are two main paradigms that form our worldview and we believe one or the other. One paradigm says everything in existence came from nothing, then a big bang happened and the process of evolution eventually resulted in human life. I find that hard to believe and I can't imagine finding purpose or meaning to life if that's how things came to be. The other paradigm and the one I believe is that "in the beginning God created". God is the source of everything in existence and our meaning and purpose in life can only be found in him. If you want to know and understand God you must turn to the Bible. The Bible is God's self disclosure. We can know he exists by the things he has made...the entire universe and everything in it...and that provides a general revelation that he does exist. But if we want to know him, his character, his attributes and how we are to relate to him, then we must turn to the Bible where he reveals himself to us. I would encourage you, and everyone, to search that out.

I really appreciate you bringing to light, the term " happiness," Many songs and documentaries have addressed this this issue. I truly believe you found this hiking AT. I you did on the AZT, too, minus your stuggles loosing your furry baby. In the end, my grandma, always said, in grief and loss, the perosn who are missing would want you to be happy. It's okay to be sad and miss them, but at the same time, your departed pets and loved ones would not want to see your chronically sad.
