I do not respect them, because respecting other denominatuons or religions is accepting their heresies or thier heathen beliefs. They all must return or come to the (traditional) Catholic Church as is the only way of salvation in the faith of Christ, outside the Church there is no salvation.

Except Orthodox fail to realize that the faith was always growing in understanding up through the 7th ecumenical council. Why did the Orthodox faith stop maturing? Because after the 7th ecumenical council, the Orthodox broke away from the Church, leaving them with no authority to call Ecumenical Councils, while the Catholic Church has continued to hold Ecumenical Councils up through recent history.

I am a Roman Catholic and a traditionalist. I've read numerous hateful comments about Holy Mass from Orthodox and Evangelical Christians...right here on youtube. I haven't once detected an Anglican nor an Episcopalian slam. I'm not saying that there haven't been any but none which I've observed. That said, I am embarrassed that there are those among us who are so indoctrinated that they feel compelled to defy Christ and berate!!!! Like it or not, the Anglican rituals were handed down from The Early Church that had to be transitioned from the sole political power of it's day to a more benevolent institution. I like it when we hold joint services...it emphasizes our commonalities . I do not, however, expect a reunification...just respect for who each one of us are.
They vilified Jesus Christ, the Lord, Master, and Founder of the Catholic Church. It is not surprising therefore that they would also vilify the Church he founded.
Those who, through their actions or preaching, push others away from Christ are committing the highest form of blasphemy. Bigotry will destroy Christianity far sooner than anything else.
One reason so many people react negatively to the RC mass is that Christians from liturgical traditions cannot sit through a Novus Ordo mass without shuddering. Orthodox Christians are wide-eyed with horror. Anglicans, Lutherans, and those from similar traditions are less surprised by what they see. But the simple reality is that the lack of reverence in the liturgy itself, the anti-devotional "music" from the guitar combo, and the visible indifference of the congregants to everything other than grabbing a host and getting out of the building, is disturbing. You may disagree with female priests and other doctrinal matters of the CofE, but you can see the reverence and the commitment of the people present. That's even more noticeable at an average Sunday service or weekday Eucharist. I simply can't say that about RC services.

PROPHECY FOR UK This is the land which has sent the highest number of God’s servant to other countries. This is the land which has willingly contributed funds that time to support such servants of God This is the land where mighty men of God like George Muller, John Knox, Smith Wiggleworth and others have lived and sojourned This is the land that has seen mighty revival in past. So, I can not hand it over in to hands of people who wish to purchase it for practising other MAN MADE RELIGIONS, as they are now dreaming to do! I will make the british people and the Parliamentarians to understand the real colour and motive of these people and also realize their folly in giving them too much liberty to establish themselves in UK Their present grip over the nation shall be slowly loosened and crumble in due course. Churches established by My servants who are chosen vessels brought in by me from other countries shall prosper materially and spiritually with My continuous blessings upon them from Heaven. Revival Fires shall sweep across the Nation through them (and in a limited way, through similar but small independent churches) in the coming days. These Churches shall expand and open branches all over the Nation. The recent problem of terrorism is allowed by ME. This will compel the Rulers of the Nation to realize that they DO NEED THE SPIRITUAL SUPPORT OF THE CHURCHES. They shall therefore, turn to seek the friendship of the Churches. The old ‘POPULIST THEORY’ that the Church and the Government (the State) should be independent and not linked” shall slowly lose its importance and its glamour shall wither away. The dependency of the Government leaders on the Churches shall bring both of them together and a revival among all denominational Churches also shall break forth. Leaders with MY SPIRIT shall rise up from those Churches also and be like MORDECAI, Liaisoning with the Government for getting favours to the Nation in general and to the people of God in the Churches in particular. Then the Country Military shall be built up and so the country shall become strong to meet the challenges of the Antichrist in the end time. The TELEVISION shall get opened to air the messages on ME by POPULAR DEMAND , without anyone realizing it, as people will long for such messages. The youth also shall lose interest in the lure of the world like football and drug addiction etc., and turn to the filling of the Holy Spirit as in Acts 2:17 ONCE AGAIN , UK shall start sending such men and women of God as MY AMBASSADORS TO OTHER NATIONS FOR TAKING MY GOSPEL TO THEM. Now there are violent changes in the occurrence of seasonal rains , falling of snow etc, causing much damage to the Country. When the spiritual Revival comes as stated earlier and the people turn to God, such vagaries of Nature also shall return to normalcy. Prosperity shall simultaneously return to the country. The old saying that “THE SUN SHALL NEVER SET ON THE BRITISH EMPIRE” shall become a REALITY AGAIN. Can anyone explain why the filming iof an important occasion s so extraordinarily dreadful that it cuts to an exterior view of the building in the middle of an exhortation, and cuts to the vault in the middle of a verse, when there was plenty of time for that change at the point that people were rising to their feet before singing?
I agree. The video work is horrible, horrible, horrible. Maybe the Church of England were on a budget, and gave the contract to the lowest bidder - and, as they say, you get what you paid for. (The alternative is that the cameraman was Roman Catholic...)
Shane Powell The recording you are seeing are not the final edit version, they are recordings of one or two cameras (on cranes to get the scope of the ceremony). For News this is all that is usually required, so ITN probably had no other cameras there. The BBC did a real programme live.
the ceremony occurred in Lent, the opening hymn reflects this - Mr. Baker's response is correct; the tune to which it is being sung is called Rockingham, as there is another tune often used called Hamburg - somewhat simpler without the descant.
One has to remember that the AC is world wide, and that would include places such as Africa where which instruments would be used as part of the local culture.
I am an Anglican, part of the church catholic, but I have very much respect for the Roman Catholic church and the beautiful spirituality of both my own and Roman Catholicism. I have to wonder, however, from reading the below scathing comments of Roman Catholics about the Anglican church if your church is fomenting division and hatred instead of the love and respect practiced and preached by the loving Lord. No church is without fault, and God is Lord of all.
you are a fool for respecting Satan's own church - the Catholic one! When Jesus returns all Catholics will be destoryed for idolatry and necromancy - read Revelation 22:14
As a Roman Catholic I respect and love the lithurgical beauty and spirituality of both Anglican and Orthodox Churches, our Sisters in Christ, and I pray that the Holy Spirit may enlighten and soften our heart to make us see our own imperfections and strive for unity in the fundamental truths of our one faith beyond the foolish rigidity of dogmas. Division and hatred is from the devil.
I was formerly Roman Catholic but ‘swam the Thames’ last year and became confirmed Anglican member as I became strong believer in the “Branch Theory” - All Bishops are sitting in the chair of St Peter. Indeed, there is apostolic succession in our Anglican communion though not in the same sense as Roman Catholicism's. Pretty similar to the Orthodox church’s, which they have also recognized us as having apostolic succession as there had been no rupture in terms of laying on of hands for apostolic ordinations. Still, the orthodox church only will recognize us if we discard many aspects of Protestantism in matters of faith, but, in my humblest opinion, there is no necessity to give up on these "Protestantism" aspects, the BCP etc because they are indeed well grounded as per scripture. Indeed, we are apostolic, holy and catholic that can be traced back to the first 300 years of early Christianity. Before the establishment of the Roman Catholic Church, Christians were concentrated in three centers - the councils of Rome, Alexandria and Antioch. Indeed, St Peter was once bishop of Rome, but not a Pope. The title of Pope was 'backdated' to him after the Catholic Church came into power, riding on their interpretation drawing from Matthew 16:18 - which even the Orthodox churches reject.
The presence of a representative of the Pope does not imply a recognition or acceptance of the ministry of Mr Welby anymore than a formal visit of Queen Elizabeth to the Pope in the Vatican implies her acceptance of papal authority. It is a formal courtesy and nothing more.
HE Vincent Cardinal Nichols was there in his capacity as the Catholic Primate in England & Wales. At the time of this installation (not enthronement) Vincent Nichols had not been elevated to the Sacred College of Cardinals which is why he wore a purple soutane rather than red.
But also we need more of these inter-Christian gatherings. We all believe in The Resurrection which completely underpins Christianity and the reason God sent his only Son to die on the Cross for ALL of us. We should celebrate the many many things we share and have in common and not focus on the lesser things that are different. I say all this through Christ our Lord and the Holy Spirit+ Amen!
@Harry Waddington IF, 'Christs Church' was in the fit state in which Christ had instructed St Peter then your argument would have a tad more gravitas. It isn't and it doesn't. I stand by my Ecumenical position that inter-religious dialogue is the way towards reconciliation. I was chair of the inter-religious dialogue committee at Heythrop when I started my Theological studies to join the Dominicans. This college of the University of London was run by the English Jesuits.
They need to attract more teenagers in this church. The Anglican Pastors need to get out there in the streets and witnessing to people and tell them to repent and turn to Jesus.
I would assume the Archbishop of York was at the Enthronement of the Archbishop of Canterbury. I only say this, because Canterbury is the Primate of all England, while York is Primate of England.
i don't understand something. if there was all that effort to make the monarch the head of the Church in England, why do they not play more of a role in the Church?
What an awful shame that the Church of England chose to create pagan priestesses and thus end any possibility that Anglicanism would ever be reunited with Christianity. What a terrible shame.
When I survey the wondrous cross on which the King of Glory died, my richest gains I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride. Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were an offering far too small. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul my all.
As a Nigerian Anglican, am so proud of my Anglican heritage, yet as a believer of the word of God which of course happens to be the Holy Bible I am ashamed of what the west who introduced Christianity to my country have turned the Anglican church into.. Just to suite their so called modern society... My the Good Lord rescue His church. Amen.
@@fredstone3745 : Your comment questioned the validity of the ordination of Anglican archbishops after the break from Rome. That same question of validity can be applied to all Latin bishops after they broke from the Orthodox faith.
@@michaeltres Not so. The Matter, Form and Intention to make a sacrament valid remained and remain unaltered as opposed to the invented pseudo sacraments of the invented church-like community known as The Church of England. The excommunication of Henry VIII took place on the 17th of December 1538. The great O Antiphon of that date is " O Sapientia", "O Wisdom". What excellent timing by the wise old corpse ,Pope Paul III. Anyway:- Roma locuta est: causa finita est. Over and out!
A Catholic Benedictine monastery and Cathedral which held the sacred relics of Saint Thomas Becket until an adulterous and murderous king destroyed the sacred relics and robbed the cathedral of its treasure for his own selfish needs. Let's be honest here, since there is no apostolic succession in the Anglican Communion, and their ordinations according to the Catholic Church are, "absolutely null and utterly void," there hasn't been a real Archbishop of Canterbury in over 500 years! Despite the dress-up and ceremony, the See of Canteberry remains vacant.
+Giovanni Serafino Only to a die-hard Roman could say as such. The line of succession was never broken, the See of Canturbury may be occupied by a rouge bishop, but he still remains a bishop in Christ's One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, as according to the Council of Nicea, he was consecrated by a bishop in valid succession, with two other bishops in attendance.
+Giovanni Serafino Obvious by the name, that you are an Italian nationalist in your religion and worldview, there are three historic, apostolic branches in the One Holy Catholic church. They are: The Roman Catholic Church (The Patriarchate of Rome), The Eastern Orthodox Church ( The Patriarchates of Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem), and The Anglican Church (The Church of England). Your Bishop .... the Bishop of Rome actually split from the other 4 Patriarchates around the year 1054AD. This was due to the heretical and apostate views that the Bishop of Rome held at that time (Papal infallibility, Ascension of Mary, Immaculate conception of Mary .... essentially downright deification of Mary. Among many other issues). The other 4 Patriarchates refused to acknowledge the Pope as infallible. Up until the 11th century that was never heard of ... The Bishop of Rome was supposed to be "The First Among Equals" ... not the infallible mouth of God on earth, essentially becoming a dictator in some sense to the other Patriarchs. On a side note ... when Christ established the Catholic church & gave the keys to Saint Peter, he didn't say he was infallible ... In fact in verse 23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns." ... Certainly not the infallible Pope of the Roman Church... Now on to The Anglican Church, There is a public perception, especially in the United States, that Henry VIII created the Anglican church in anger over the Pope's refusal to grant his divorce, but the historical record indicates that Henry spent most of his reign challenging the authority of Rome, and that the divorce issue was just one of a series of acts that collectively split the English church from the Roman church in much the same way that the Orthodox church had split off five hundred years before. Infact, the Pope of Rome gave Henry the title "Defender of The Faith" before this occurred. Rome is not the only Church, The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ exists in the body of all of his believers & all who are baptized the The Name of The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit. Please study Church History brother, and do not be so Judgemental of another tradition.
+Matthew Christovich you are in error. With the introduction of the heretical Protestant Edwardian Ordinal in the 16th Century with its anti Catholic rejection of the priesthood and the most holy sacrifice of the Mass apostolic succession was lost. The ordinal had no intention of continuing the Catholic priesthood and was not capable of transmitting holy orders or apostolic succession. Both the form and intention were defective .No anglican priest or bishop is validly ordained and from the Catholic point of view they are laymen playing dress up with bread and wine. The sad result of a mad and lustful King who broke away from the the Catholic Church to "marry" his whore, and when he tired of her, had her murdered along with several other "wives." In the process. Wonderful way to start up a "church!"
+alex douglas from your comments it is clear, you are neither a theologian or historian. That you actually believe that the apostate, schismatic and heretical Anglican sect, founded by a lustful , adulterous , murderous and syphilis infected King, is part of the ancient and apostolic Catholic Church is absolutely mad! Your "branch theory" of the Church is just as invalid as all your fake sacraments. The church is one holy Catholic and apostolic ,there are no branches! The issues of 1054 with the Orthodox Church had nothing to do with papal infallibility, the dogma of the immaculate conception or the assumption of Mary. These were issues of the 19th century, not the 11th. There is one issue that both the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church agree, and that the anglican sect does not have apostolic succession, hence all its sacraments are invalid. The Anglican sect is imploding and soon it will be a forgotten footnote in history.
In Anglicism were born Cardinal John Henry Newman, Oscar Wilde, Robert Keith Chesterton, and other very famous catholic men. Our hope is that Great Britain came back to Catholicism in the name of the Isle of the Saints.

this is Canterbury cathedral. it is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury who is the head of the Church of England and the head of the World wide Anglican Communion, which consists of over 80 provinces world-wide and approximately 100 million members world-wide. This includes the Episcopal Church in the United States, the Anglican Church of Canada, The Anglican church of Australia, The Anglican Church of Nigeria, The Anglican Church of South Africa, The Scottish Episcopal Church Etc... The Monarch of England is neither the head of the Church of England nor does she hold any administrative position in the Church. She simply holds the title "defender of the Faith." As such, for the sake of tradition, she is granted the privilege of Choosing who the next Archbishop of Canterbury will be. That is the sole privilege she has. However, it is not necessary for her to be present at the enthronement or any other liturgical event, as she has no real standing. She is not ordained, she simply holds a title of honor which she inherited when she was enthroned as Queen.
The Queen is "Supreme Governor" of the Church of England. While the appointment of the Archbishop of Canterbury is made in her name, she acts only on the advice of the Prime Minister, and, in actuality, the Archbishop is a political appointee of the Prime Minister. The Archbishop has no actual authority over the Anglican Communion, as current events amply demonstrate.
You are both somewhat correct but not completely. The Archbishop of Canterbury is the official head of the Church of England. He is the "first among equals" and as such for all intents and purposes is "the boss". However, like the prime minister, he does not have totalitarian rule. He cAn be vetoed and his rulings may be challenged. He is not a pope not a dictator. Also, he only holds such authority in the Church of England. As for other Anglican provinces, he is looked at as more of a father figure, with respect and admiration. With the knowledge that out lineage derives from the seat which he resides in. However, like all offspring grow up and make decisions for themselves, so do all other Anglican provinces. For example, if the Archbishop of Canterbury forms a mandate that the age requirement for prdination should be no younger than 30, the Episcopal Church will listen to him, hear his reasons, but ultimately if the General Convention of the Episcopal Church disagrees and feels the age requirement should be 25, than we have authority to respectfully decline his mandate, as we are offspring of the Church of England, but fully autonomous in our episcopal government. So in a sense for Anglican provinces outside of Great Britain, he is mostly a figurehead, however within Great Britain, is where his authority fully withholds.
@mindspring57: you are thinking like a Roman Catholic. Remember that Anglicanism is guided by the principle of the ability to "agree to disagree" it's why our church thrives and the Church of Rome does not. The only reason they are larger than us is because The Anglican Communion is based on the principles of reason, scripture and tradition, whereas Rome rules based on fear tactics. History proves to us that In the short term fear works better, but in the long term it is reason which always wins, in any situation.
Canterbury was Catholic and should be returned to the Roman Catholic Church. The Archbishop of Canterbury was appointed by the Pope whom he honored as the authentic head of the church established by Christ not English kings.
What if there were a Church that united Catholics and Protestants all together in one Communion? Oh wait, there is. It's called the Anglican Communion. If there were such a thing as "the one true church" it would be humble enough not to claim to be "the one true church."

Those who, through their actions or preaching, push others away from Christ are committing the highest form of blasphemy. Bigotry will destroy Christianity far sooner than anything else.
Didn’t Christ berate the money lenders?
Love the catholic hymns during the enthroining
Which of the hymns were Catholic ?
@@reecec2908 all of them

The hymn on 7:23 onwards is certainly an anglicized version of the Latin Chant Veni Creator Spiritus, which obviously is a Roman Catholic Hymn.

17 Daniel returned home and told his three friends. 18 Then he said, “Pray that the God who rules from heaven will be merciful and explain this mystery, so that we and the others won’t be put to death.” 19 In a vision one night, Daniel was shown the dream and its meaning. Then he praised the God who rules from heaven:

PROPHECY FOR UK
This is the land which has sent the highest number of God’s servant to other countries.
This is the land which has willingly contributed funds that time to support such servants of God
This is the land where mighty men of God like George Muller, John Knox, Smith Wiggleworth and others have lived and sojourned
This is the land that has seen mighty revival in past.
So, I can not hand it over in to hands of people who wish to purchase it for practising other MAN MADE RELIGIONS, as they are now dreaming to do! I will make the british people and the Parliamentarians to understand the real colour and motive of these people and also realize their folly in giving them too much liberty to establish themselves in UK
Their present grip over the nation shall be slowly loosened and crumble in due course.
The TELEVISION shall get opened to air the messages
on ME by POPULAR DEMAND , without anyone realizing it, as people will long
for such messages.
The youth also shall lose interest in the lure of the world like football and drug addiction etc., and turn to the filling of the Holy Spirit as in Acts 2:17
ONCE AGAIN , UK shall start sending such men and women of God as MY AMBASSADORS TO OTHER NATIONS FOR TAKING MY GOSPEL TO THEM.

The recording you are seeing are not the final edit version, they are recordings of one or two cameras (on cranes to get the scope of the ceremony).

Most of the action is completely missed by the camera.

I have to wonder, however, from reading the below scathing comments of Roman Catholics about the Anglican church if your church is fomenting division and hatred instead of the love and respect
practiced and preached by the loving Lord. No church is without fault, and God is Lord of all.

Rose White STFU, It seems you're neither a heretic calvinist nor a stupid born again idiot.

I guess that is why the Bishop of Rome sent a representative to the installation of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

St. Peter’s
+Matthew Christovich amen brother

***** Indeed the Episcopal Church is "autonomous." That is its major problem. :)
The Episcopal Church had 3.6 million members in the 1960's, and now has only 1.5 million. A lot of disagreeing going on, I would say.
Canterbury was Catholic and should be returned to the Roman Catholic Church. The Archbishop of Canterbury was appointed by the Pope whom he honored as the authentic head of the church established by Christ not English kings.
The monarch is the protector of the anglican church

What if there were a Church that united Catholics and Protestants all together in one Communion? Oh wait, there is. It's called the Anglican Communion. If there were such a thing as "the one true church" it would be humble enough not to claim to be "the one true church."
It’s all a bit PC!
Basically, he is elected by the Prime Minister and the Queen. Which is rather lame.
