      It's hard you can say your going to do those things and even write them down but depression makes the commitment hard to keep. I apply for jobs online all the time and I've worked in multiple feilds and never felt like I belonged. I work hard and it's never enough. At the moment currently jobless in my late 20s almost and depressed because I'm going no where in life. I've tried uni and tried different jobs and I have nothing to show for it but a few things and depression and anxiety. I've had glimpse's of hope where I thought it would get better and I'm like this is for me great! And to my surprise it doesn't work out. Maybe I'm not smart enough or good enough these could be facts. I'm at a loss for what to do I just stay in bed at the moment I used to hit the gym and think positively but when you've been crushed that many times it's hard to get back up. What do you get back up to? Work in jobs you hate and go to the gym not knowing what your passionate about and not having the money or opportunity to find out. What do you do? Anyone has advise that would be great and if anyone feels the same way I do I do hope something gets better for you.

    If this is the most common question asked. Then I wonder what it must be in the culture/society causing so many people to feel this.

    • @mairead354
      @mairead354 6 років тому +5

      Caleb Mounts Constantly comparing ourselves to others and falsely believing that everyone's way ahead of us in life and has it all figured out?
      I think social media has only exacerbated this as now we can do this 24/7. It screws with our heads!
      I mean I'm consciously aware of all of this and yet I still fall into this trap if I spend too much time on social media!

    • @mastick5106
      @mastick5106 5 років тому

      It's not the "norm", so in that sense, no. What's more important is whether it's _healthy,_ and that depends on _why_ you've never been in a relationship. There are healthy reasons and unhealthy reasons.

    When I'm depressed, I can't write anything let alone have the attention span to even attempt it. This would work great for someone that just lost $2 on a scratch off, or got kicked off of instagram. What if you have REAL problems? Because the dr. says come back in 6 weeks for another pill so you don't notice how much life you've wasted. Every 30 days if you're lucky

      These advice channels tend to cater more toward the needs of down-in-the-dumps neurotypicals. If you're neurodivergent and have those actual mental disorders, look elsewhere.
      Don't feel disheartened by these types of videos not helping you, they aren't designed to help that more ingrained, hardwired stuff.

    I think one of the biggest reasons why people often feel stuck and unhappy at points throughout their life is because they're so used to the way things have been going (ex. a boring, unfulfilling job) that they can't imagine another life for themselves. People are afraid of failure and afraid of trying especially when they've become complacent. The unknown is scary to them! And I think that is completely normal. But I also believe in picking yourself off the ground and working towards improving yourself and your life. It might be scary initially but it's an amazing journey down the road.

      noorulain naseem Hahaha thanks! ❤ I sometimes worry about someone finding and reading my journal (my ex used to keep an online one for this reason but I find writing by hand to be much more cathartic) and get too caught up trying to organise my thoughts better across a few different types and styles of journals and then become overwhelmed and obsessive and stop...so sticking to plain old traditional stream of consciousness journaling about my thoughts and day keeps me much more consistent! 😃

    So true! Everything we do in life is in order to avoid pain or gain pleasure! And human beings are far more motivated to avoid pain, even if it's only perceived pain!
    I'm currently reading Tony Robbins's 'Awaken The Giant Within' and just read a chapter where he talks about this idea in detail. Highly recommend it to anyone stuck in a rut or feeling lost, along with its predecessor 'Unlimited Power'.

    but what can I do when the pain goes away, I start to forget about it and fall back into the same old shitty behaviour? I want to stop smoking for a long time now and at times where I smoked to an extent where I can feel the negative impact and easily stop it, but after some time went by and the memory starts to fade, it's so easy to fall back.. Modernhealthmonk. We all know the big reason why we feel afraid and sas about the future . while we all can be optimistic in our young years, about becoming a great example. The reality is that more of us will work and be forced to pay for every thing. Its so expensive to live and not enough time to be rich at a 9to5. Ok well get a second job? Really thats your advice will. What about the adventures i wanted to go on . explore the world. Im never going to be able to by the time i make enough money il be old. Why you think its always a old man in a audi or a Mercedes-Benz. A second job sound absolutely painful to the soul i couldn't do that man im sorry but my time is very limited and iam trying to escape the reality that we.face and you guys just pretend its not that bad cause you know if you really were to see the big picture you would feel like i do im sad and scared of what i have to do which is surrender my soul and trade my time for something called money i didnt even agree too to start. I had no decision in that conversation of make them work work work . like come on man no please. I just wana be left alone . but im trapped and im dieing .

    Habit 1: Deciding to put yourself on the right trajectory. Set your intentions straight.
    Habit 2: Use pain to change. Let it fuel your growth.
    Habit 3: Dedicate 10 minutes a day generating ideas on how to improve your life. List your problems in a journal and list potential solutions, then implement those solutions in your life to overcome your problems.

    2:47 Late in life, you seem pretty young to say something like that. I know some people who are 30+ who've never had anyone in their life as far as I know. You still have good points though.

    • @mairead354
      @mairead354 6 років тому +3

      raph009 He's in his early thirties, as far as I know, and everyone knows that most people have relationships of some kind (no matter how fleeting or superficial) or go on dates during their teens and early twenties, whether in high school or college. We see it in real life as well as in tv shows/movies. I mean how many times have we heard the terms 'childhood sweethearts', 'highschool sweethearts' ?
      I'm not saying that it's the only way to be happy or that those that don't do this are abnormal, as I have several close friends who're also in their mid-twenties and have never had a relationship and are as happy as can be and not interested in having one but everyone decides on their own standards and obviously having a girlfriend by a certain age was something important to him.

      I've always been skinny, had relationships 18 - 24 then life has sucked, 29 now but only just starting to effect change in my own life. I think no matter what age there is always that voice inside telling you that you're failing, life is passing you by, that you're getting old. Especially if you're on facebook comparing your life to all your friends (i deleted facebook for this reason). It's only when you get the logical reasoning of "Wow, I can actually change my life, why have I never done this before?" Then you can sort of reset and start over and start asking the questions of "How can I achieve what I want?", "How can I approach life in a different way that will make me happy?" :) Loving these videos, they're really good at making you think about the right questions

    Thank you for the motivation. Began my journaling and I will be so busy now actioning my projects I will not have time to be inward looking. Up till now even the slugs in our outhouse were more action centered! Look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you. Claire.🐌

    Jesus is the answer to life. He defines the meaning of life in John 17:3"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
