Hello, I am new here also. I found you two weeks ago through your purchase of your Juki. I bought one and have been watching you tube videos about the Juki, which luckily lead me to your fabulous home. I love gardening cats and crafts. I am very short, 4 foot nine, so I may need two cushions for my legs. I feel very cozy hear already, and have started from the beginning. Ttfn.

She looks great for 19!!. We have a 19yo grandkitty, and even though she's showing it more than Norma, she is a trooper. She has outlived everyone of the original menagerie our daughter and her boyfriend had in their beginning years. She was born the same day our daughter's bunny passed away while she was in college, the day before her 21st bday. Her then manager at work, now her husband💕, found Punkin at an adoption event later, and when they discovered what her b'day, was, they adopted her on the spot.

I too am a handcrafter. I stretch from knitting, crochet, weaving flax, sewing anything from scraps leftover from my quilting to luxurious silks and crepes and literally making anything out of nothing. Your inspiring messages fill my life and I thank you for your chats.

Good morning...I'm Barbara currently living in Boulder City NV right next to Las Vegas and moving to Boise ID as soon as my beautiful new house sells to be closer to my family. A dear friend referred Kate to me last year and I look forward to her videos every week ...Kate is my inspiration and such a lovely women..a breath of fresh air. It is really great to hear other UA-cam peeps mention other UA-cams that I watch..like we are all friends..connected all over the world by UA-cam. It's wonderful for sure.
I heard them say that. I said, "hey, I know her." Well, I really don't, but I feel I do. I sometimes forget that people all over the world share in your lovely posts. Arne and Carlos are great, so glad you are all watching each other. So much abundance of peoples' knowledge. I'm a lucky girl to be able to peek in in all of you, and partake of all your talents.

Welcome to all our new friends here on the LGS (lime green sofa). I’m also a relative new-be, being introduced to kate early this year. I have found her voice, her attitude, her ad-free content all very calming and hopeful in these uncertain times, especially here in the states. More than once i have watched several videos at a time, partly to catch up to now, and partly to help me gain a bit of hope as politics here combined with a pandemic, can be overwhelming. Kate always helps improve my perspective as she introduces us to spinning, knitting, book binding, card making, pottery, quilting, sewing, gardening, and even cleaning out drawers (she has the most interesting collection of stuff). Does anyone here on the lgs have a favorite Kate craft or Kate video? I think mine right now i’d the drawer tidy up - such a fascinating collection she has!!!!
I've just gotten into quilting so I'm particularly drawn to those videos, but I love everything Kate does :-) I too have found her a safe haven and I'm also in the U.S.. Keep safe!

I found Kate during the onset of Covid19. Just wanted to say hello since we are sort of neighbors. I live on a small farm 5 minutes from Lake Ontario. Halfway between Rochester and Syracuse. Greetings from Williamson NY. Fall is indeed beautiful in NY.
Nancy Mandle Hi Nancy, My son and his family live in Allendale which is so wonderful after all their years In other places around the country, and now we can’t even visit. They came here last weekend and stayed in an apartment over our garage and we ate outside. Better than nothing but that will have to do with temps being in the 40’s today. What's so wonderful about your channel is that it doesn't feel like you are manufacturing content just to keep us entertained; it's all very natural and cosy. I personally feel as though I am sitting right there with you, just having a wee chin wag. I adore that it doesn't feel rushed (even if the videos are shorter in length).
I feel the same way...like sitting with a close friend. A wee chin wag is a cute saying...love it. What part of the world are you from? Also adore the non-rushed video feeling - I don't particularly like the 2-4 hour, or longer videos....can't even begin to turn them on. An hour is about as long as I watch...it's some down time relaxing after work. Thank you Kate for your company, it's been lovely.

Alexandria Reid - Oh dear, I meant to say that I live in Mira Mesa, California. It’s unincorporated city of San Diego, located near MCAS Miramar, a Marine base. It used to be primarily a Navy base. Mira Mesa is quite large and growing all the time. Right now we’re having a very hot, dry autumn. Typical, but I’m used to it.

Yarns, threads, and fabric; I quilt, knit, crochet, and embroider. My first fabric die for my sizzix Big Shot was the Hexi. I have boxes and trays full of basted hexi’s. You given me inspiration to work on them.

I was to join Arne and Carlos at the end of March on a knitting cruise around New Zealand. So because of the world situation the cruise was cancelled. I live in Strathfieldsaye, suburb of Bendigo in Central Victoria, Australia.

Kate, your channel is a place where we can slow down (how did we all get to be in such a hurry?) and just be... a place away from the tyranny of the urgent. As horrible and devastating as this global pandemic has been (is!) I am taking away the lesson of slowing down. And I have to say that your Taking Care videos are my all time favorites. They were so special. Thank you so much for sharing your life.

Had my decaf coffee, blueberry muffins hubby made, and some sage sausage daughter cooked up while I watching this. Yes, I passed the excess down the sofa. Now passing the hot herbal tea around. Raining out so cannot garden or work in the shed. Guess I will get my stitching and sit with ya'all for a while longer. Working on a nice Jacobean piece at the moment. Wish I could knit. Maybe I can watch some videos again and pick it up since it appears this will be a l o n g winter. Happy Sunday all.

I learned of you thru Arne & Carlos. I love, love, love your channel (I have been trying to watch all the back issues) and all of the different things you do. You remind me of my Grandma - not age wise - but all that you do. Having animals all around, doing all the different crafts. You are where I would love to be if I didn't have a hubby that didn't enjoy all the randomness.
Hello Kate I have started to watch your marvelous channel thanks to Arne & Carlos. I have seen quite a few of your videos already : cooking, bookbinding, tidying drawers, cupboards, christmas baking, gardening. I have done some coptic bookbinding but found the tutorial was not as clear as yours. you are a fantastic teacher calming and reassuring. Your energy is contagious so I have been doing quite a lot of clearing of all sorts of things for a charity association. As I live in a tiny flat in Paris I do not have the huge amount of work you are doing yourself but I was proscratinating. You remind me of Tasha Tudor who made everything herself too.I do not sew and knit but I do bullet journaling, scrapbooking, bookbinding, watercolor and acrylic painting, vegan inspired cooking. I have a small yorkshire terrier called Hannah. The silence, the quiet life, the beauty of nature, a HUGE house, a lot of animals, vegetables from the garden make me dream. of course I have subscribed ans I thank you for all what you do and,your,incredible personality.

I was drawn in by your introduction, personally, accent, cats, and content. I love the idea of taking a seat on your lime green sofa, so sorry that I missed the Queen! 😄 I found a comfy spot for myself and sat back for a visit. I came over two years ago from Arne and Carlos. I just finished your series about your mom's quilts, they are beautiful! I just started finishing a few projects and clearing out drawers, finding old unfinished projects and your videos have kept me company and given me motivation. It's like chatting with a friend while you're keeping busy, so comforting.
Cats are happy when they are allowed to go out at night.

I’m so glad I did, I’ve already watched quite a few of your videos and have really enjoyed them. I also love EPP and have a Sizzix machine with hexie dies. I am in the process of making a Christmas hexie table centre in red, white and green. As we are in stage 4 lockdown here in Melbourne I have plenty of time for all my art and craft and gardening. I learned of Kate and the Last Homely House back in March or April of this year from a friend in France who is a quilter. Watching all of Kate's videos from the beginning gave me a connection to the broader world (in addition to my work and family connections) while I've been isolating on my own due to the pandemic. A few months ago I joined as a Patreon. It's been wonderful to have this "friend" and this community during these unusual months. Thank you Kate, and all of your lovely people!

Oh Kate, I am so pleased for you but also for us for we will be all the richer for having more new friends with us on the lime green sofa! I am hoping that more Australians will join as well. We so need this! I too, have tuned in to Arne & Carlos on occasion. I hope that all the visitors will visit your online store and see a little of how you fill you time. Our community is not an escape from reality, our community is the reality that we have created and in which everyone is equal and everyone is important. There's nothing silly about it because, apart from the sofa being lime green (I have yet to see it), we ARE all sitting here and quite probably, we are drinking tea or coffee (at least from time to time). I, too, have come to you via the Arne and Carlos shoutout.... have only been watching them for a few weeks. I live in Kansas in USA, and am of a slightly advanced and retired age, and i also have a 19 y/o cat with a few health issues.... condolances on your loss of Prudence. I have many interests/hobbies that keep me occupied and sane, and it looks as though i will be a regular visitor.
