I am sorry for your loss of beautiful Prudence. This video came on the same day I had to say goodbye to my 18 year old cat. I did take him to be put to sleep, but the Dr came out to the car, I held him as he fell asleep. It was peaceful and he was ready. RIP, Prudence and GrayGray.

My world has become very small since the pandemic but your channel found me and I enjoy watching and listening to your lovely days. Thank you for bringing joy to my life here on the south east coast of Ireland...I felt your sadness when you spoke of your cat; it made me feel very emotional.

February 7 2024 Maryland USA: Although this is years out of the huge worldwide pandemic that certainly changed all of our lives. As witth Kate she demonstrates during those periods how we can through this wonderful internet community with support. We might not know each other but we share the human spirit of caring for alll. I continue to watch Kate’s past video’s for inspiration on all levels. Whether creating new makes to just life in general. Kate truly is a gift to us all and how we have grown to love her family. Such beautiful individuals with talents that compliment the other. Like a strong tree, Kate is, and look at the branches with her family and us…the lime green sofa family. Best of heallth Kate and we are anxious for your next makes and watching Anna’s love of quiltinng also.

I held my Luke a whole day while he was dying.....that was 2 years ago and I miss him very much.....I do enjoy Norma because she reminds me of Luke...Luke was a marbled bengal and a loving mischief maker
There’s so much loss in all of our lives these days. How good of you to stay with Prudence until the end - and what a privilege. Many of us can’t be with our loved ones as they lay dying, because of Covid-19. You’ve opened up a space for all of us to sit together and comfort one another on the lime green sofa. Rest in peace, beautiful Prudence. Our cats are 18 yrs old now and have both developed renal failure, so it's just a matter of time with them as well. Our pets add so much to our lives, don't they? I’m very sorry to hear that your beautiful sweet Prudence has passed. You gave her a wonderful life. My cat Purrl was 16 yrs when she passed.I was there when she was born and also when she passed . Although it’s been two years I still think of her every day. It is so hard to lose a dear feline friend.

Kate I've only just watched your Proggy Mat videos and love them, but I just wanted to send a hug to you as I know, only too well, that we never forget the pain of losing our pets. When you described Prudence you could have been telling the story of my little Calico cat 'Fury' (named after a car!) She was 19, and after a completely gentle life, passed away one morning - after a stretch and a yawn, she put her head in my hand and sighed, then just left as peacefully as she had lived her life. It's a privilege to share our lives with them. Thank you for sharing that with us. Xxxx

I feel your pain Kate, we lost our dog last year. We took her to the vets and was fortunately allowed to go in with her. I still get emotional when I think of her and cried for Prudence too. Sending love and hugs to you all x

Hello Kate, I just saw this video; you did a good thing, letting Prudence go (die) at your home. It is always hard and sad when a beloved cat is going further on her journey. She could say goodbye in a very loving and warm environment. It was September’23 when my beloved cat Tom passed away and we let hem die at home, in his favorite blanket. And you know, it still hurts and I still miss him every day.
Kate, I wish you and your family all the best and much love and happiness. I do love your both channels, all the videos are so much better and enjoyable than regular telly.

Just catching up on episodes today, and was so powerfully struck by this loving tribute. Since I was 7 or 8 years old, I’ve had many, many animals (currently 2 cats, 2 dogs, a fish and two algae-eating snails) so that means 50-ish years....with each passing, each loss, it’s been hard. (I cherish pictures of them all...) But even knowing (as you said) that when we take them in, that their life to the end is in our care, while so perfectly true, it doesn’t lessen the joy we have while they are with us .. you gave Prudence such loving and compassionate care to the end. ..I am so inspired by your ability to continue creating while still morning your loss. Bravo, nothing short of inspirational. God bless you!

Very very sad to hear about Prudence; she had such a wonderful life with you Kate. The best decision to let her go surrounded by her family. We are all thinking of you, sitting on the LGS with tears in our eyes.
Beautiful draft stopper and kitty perch. The colors are lovely. So sad to hear about Prudence. We did the same thing with our first cat Willy. She was a few months short of 20. The vet wanted to put her down, was not happy that we insisted on bringing her home. She could no longer jump up on the couch so we made a spot for her and picked her up. Then just sat with her. Buried her under a tree in the front yard. Our pets are part of the family. Even once they are gone, they never really leave us as long as we have fond memories of them.
Prudence was so lucky to have such a loving family❤️

So sad, remembering our own cat. I used to make bobbin lace and when not working on the pillow I would leave it on the dining table in the sunshine and Tibby would climb up and lay on hundreds of pins, go fast asleep and never disturb a thing. Lovely days. Joan from Northants.

My dear Kate... I'm so very sorry for your loss. I have two kitties myself. Isabelle is 20 and Herbie is about 6. They're both rescue kitties from different places. Thank you for sharing all of the beautiful photographs of Prudence...and for telling her story. For me, my cats are my closest companions and as precious as my humans. It is hard to lose them...so hard. But it is comforting to know that they are so deeply loved and that their lives have been happy and filled to the brim with goodness. Having a 'good death' is our last gift to them. Good job, Kate...you have been a true friend to Prudence. She was a beauty.
I have a rescued hundreds of animals… Cats, dogs, birds and more. Each one has a little bit of real estate in my heart. The ones that were too old or sick came to live with me for the last days. Far and away it was the right thing to do to let them live out their natural life. Your honesty letting us see your sad heart was such a gift. I send you much love my sister. I'm a new subscriber, caught by part one of a proggy mat, but I'm so glad to be here and to offer my condolence for the loss of your kitty Prudence. What a beautiful girl. Our boy Kaiacat passed away in January 2019, and I miss him every day because he was my shadow and hot water bottle and companion when everyone else was asleep. A cat is a wonderful pal when one is a nightowl. Because we are both in poor health and closer to 80 than 70 we haven't adopted another cat. We thought it unfair to be the ones leaving a friend alone if we left first, but I do miss the old lad. He was 16 and had complications of diabetes. We've had to say goodbye to several furbabies over the years and it doesn't get easier, but when we know we've had a happy loving journey with them it helps a little. For some 25 years my greatest joy was spending my days with children ages 1 to 4. Like you they gave great attention to the smallest of objects giving them a significance and purpose thus creating a treasure. The child in you iis strong and allows all of us to see beauty and possibilities .

Our dear BoobBoo Kitty rarely left my husbands side, he had many health issues, but the last few month prior to his death in Jan 2021, she was ALWAYs with him. It is lovely you sat and comforted Cat Rita and made her journey peaceful. You and all the cats are in my thoughts and I 100% know the void you are feeling. As ill as my husband was, we are never quite prepared for that last breath and the hole in our hearts they leave. HUGs 💜

Beautiful Prudence😢! I still grieve for my Binx boy I lost two years ago. I’ve so loved all my beauties over the years but he was my special one, a tri-pod, polydactyl, very needy. I’d rock him like a baby…..he had kidney failure at 15. I feel your pain, your grief, and your love❤.
Kate, I am so sorry about the loss of your dear Prudence! Unfortunately, our fur babies have to go to heaven at some time and it is always too soon. I started giving my cat canned food instead of kibble after I read how unhealthy kibble is for them to eat all the time. I mix water into the canned food to make a gruel which my cat loves and he never leaves anything in his dish. I recently found your channel and love listening to you. I am a 73 year old living in Massachusetts and was going a little crazy with staying home most of the time. I ran across your channel and just love it. You have given me a lot of inspiration to do crafty things which I have been putting off for lack of motivation.Thank you for your cheerful spirit and friendly way of connecting to your viewers!

I’m so sorry to hear about Prudence. Your story brought tears to my eyes even though you were very stoic about it. I’ve been through this several times over the years with my dogs and it’s never easy. In my case I was persuaded to take them to the vet at the end, though I hated doing it. I was always allowed to stay with them till the end or I would refuse to let them go. So many times it seems to be kidney problems. It’s the hardest part about having pets. Looks like the mat is a great success!

She's a nine-month-old beautiful little calico kitten and I love her I also ended up adopting her brother Joe they were both left motherless in the backyard of someone's home. They have been my dearest companions during this time. I adopted them right after I lost my wonderful 10 year old lab Gracie. I was watching you and Norma and decided I needed a companion so i found Meg and Joe. We thought Joe was a girl and since I had just recently watched Little Women what better names than Meg and Jo. Jo turned out to be Joe. Thank you for bravely moving on and doing this video even though you feeling so sad at the loss of beautiful little Prudence. I send you my love.

Dear Kate, I know you don't understand why so many of us tell you how wonderful you are, but you should only watch this video. I dearly love cats and hearing your little tale about Prudence, just broke my heart. But, you provided her with love and affection for as long as you had her. So many cats never know this kind of life. She was an adorable kitten who grew into a beautiful cat. I have one cat. Wish I could have another one. The proggy excluder was brilliant.
