  • Police arrested a man for holding up a blank piece of white paper on Sunday in Novosibirsk, Russia.
The police officers asked the protester to produce his documents, and after checking them said that “all public activities on the territory of Novosibirsk region, including single-person pickets, in other words what, as I understand you are doing right now, are prohibited.”
As the protester kept holding up the piece of white paper two police officers dragged him away.
Police detained more than 4,300 people on Sunday at Russia-wide protests against President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine, according to an independent protest monitoring group.

This reminds me _Orange Alternative_ movement in 1980's Poland, where many people (mostly young) ,,tried" to get arrested for silly things, like:
      - painting a word ,,Communism" on a pig and letting it on the city, so that MO (Citizen Militia) chases it
      - running around the bridge with sign saying ,,inflation" and when caught, telling to militiamen: ,,Congratulations, you just caught galloping inflation"
      - dressing as dwarfs and making a Communist march

In addition to the protesters, there are absolutely random people like me. The police treated us very aggressively. Constantly asked to remove the phones from the hands. After that, you will be taken to the police station where you are treated with the utmost disdain. They Violate all your possible rights and freedoms. They make you take a picture of your face, take your fingerprints, make you unlock your phone, etc. They take pictures to replenish the databases of city cameras with face recognition, now I am constantly under surveillance. When they forced to unlock the phone, they wrote down its IMEI so that it could be tracked. I have already changed my phone to another one, and I gave them false personal data. They interrogate you, and then they charge you with a copy-paste accusation that you shouted slogans and did not listen to the police, although I just walked along the street and briefly stopped to photograph what was happening. You are manipulated, threatened that they will leave you for the night if you do not do what they say. After 5 hours in this, you already agree to everything just to leave quickly. After that, you are assigned a trial in a week or two. I spent 12 hours in the courthouse only to find out that I was sentenced without my participation.
