Russian police detain hundreds at Moscow protest in support of journalist

- Russian police said on Wednesday they had detained over 400 people, including opposition politician Alexei Navalny, at a protest in Moscow calling for punishment for police officers involved in the alleged framing of journalist Ivan Golunov.
But his supporters went ahead with a protest on Wednesday, a public holiday in Russia, despite being warned by the authorities that their demonstration would be illegal.
Police abruptly dropped drugs charges a day earlier against journalist Ivan Golunov, a rare reversal by the authorities in the face of anger from his supporters who said he was framed for his reporting.

Imagine BLM and Antifa protesting in Russia😂😂😂
Antifa and blm wouldn’t have the balls trust me, Russia was a communist country they don’t playing, I
They will get shot in Russia
They would last a maximum of just 5 seconds
United states police are weak blm and antifa is ez you guys just dont kill em all.
@@robotcrobot8548 yeah that is true, if our Police was like the NKVD, Gestapo, Stasi, or ZOMO, all of those rioters would not last a second.
Russia: ow that police hit me let me fight back
USA: ow he hit me let me make a lawsuit towards him and be in news
Lol russian liberal protesters want USA guys to say 'shame russia shame shame', and all the USA commenters are like: "GO RUSSIA GOGOGO!!!"
True xD because people sick of roads being blocked, someone looses their jobs someone can even miss funerals of their family member. In Russia its don't work like that, there nearly no activists that do those things (consequences very high in Russia)
увы, это так
Well there is their defunded education system.

If it's the second options, it really reminds me a commie logic I remember from my youth age from occupation times.
That was a "Day of Russia" in Russia.
They have a good strategy to get these people. Even though it’s wrong at least they have a good strategy to do it
@Bekad Baens. question is, are those riots or protests?
it is illegal protests, non sanctioning
it is totally right.
They seem to be going after people one at a time, and loading them on buses. They seem to know who to go after.
I don't see any difference between Russia and the USA after university protests nowadays
exactly.
This is "Day of Russia" - public holiday. "Day of the autozacks"
Impressive security tactics, very well trained.

I love how the police in Russia escort a detainee, I used that tactic on a unruly suspect who was still fighting after I put him in handcuffs, the US did not favor it

@Bekad Baens. This was a protest against a framed and jailed journalist who uncovered corruption among the ruling party. Many journalists have been brutally murdered for speaking against a regime that has usurped power and bleeds the country with corruption. The protestors should not apologize for standing up for their rights. The regime and it's doe's not feel sorry for what it does, and the protesters don't want their apologies. Apologies don't solve problems of an oppressive regime.
@@tictactoe101 Slaves like you will never understand free people.
@@GENZMBGAMING It's an oppressive regime that uses violence to stay in power against people who fight against corruption of said regime. The only thing we should learn is why autocratic regimes are dangerous and why separation of powers and democratic principals should be safeguarded from authocratic populists.

Over 400 peple arrested in moscow. American citezen - "go away!" of the police bus.
because it´s an internal issue.. foreigners have no business there..
We need this type of punjab police to deal with lawyers and TLP.

@@abeautifulviewofourworld9941 I will help. The police says 1000 times that the demonstration is agains the law and they have to leave. The people are not doing it so they get under arrest
The protest was in support of the jailing of Ivan Golunov Russian investigative journalist, falsely accused for production of drugs. Investigative journalists, opposition politicians and activists face physical and financial repression for exposing corruption, human rights violation. False cases are fabricated against them. The government regularly comes up with vague laws that are aimed as limiting the freedom of speech and gathering. The same people are ruining Russia since the fall of USSR. They created a state run by family clans that operate like crime syndicates, plagued by systemic corruption. Those in power not only accept corruption but expect it as a package that comes with loyalty to the regime. The regime controls all media outlets and sedates the people with propaganda. It discourages people form protesting by on one hand, sending a message that the overwhelming majority is happy and supports the regime, and the unhappy are an insignificant minority. On the other hand the regime makes sure to beat, fine and jail every expression of public descent. Even one man protests are quickly "taken care of".
