It’s a damn shame what your government has done to free speech. Ricky and anyone like him can no longer perform comedy. Any of his lines can get him thrown in jail. I think people have forgotten the true elements of comedy... It's supposed to make light , make laughter of the things that can be hard to embrace.... That's what comedy does.... It puts light on all our unique perspectives and makes us laugh, makes light of any situation, even the death of a loved one, you can feel down, but comedy is supposed to LIGHTEN US UP, assist us with moving through our hard times... In life, that's the absolute beauty and magic of comedy, if someone finds something in comedy so hard that it doesnt make them laugh, then that someone needs some time, before they are ready to see the light in life again. He's not intending offense and you have enough faith and self confidence not to be insulted. It's called being grown up and having a sense of humour. Everything should be able to be allowed to be the subject of satire; if it's not funny then people won't laugh. Insults are intended and usually obvious; we don't need to look for them. The vast majority taking insult at comedy are pretending to do so simply because they want attention, or don't understand comedy, with the worst doing it unrequested on behalf of someone else just to put themselves in the spotlight.

What I don't understand about UA-cam is I can watch a video where someone says the C word or the N word (it makes me sick that I can't even write these words as an example) But if I write either word in the comments of the same video, I get banned from commenting

We pretend that saying/writing “n-word” isn’t saying the actual word, but the synonym only works because everyone internally replaces it with the real word. Man, I've been a George Carlin fan for almost 30 years now. I just binged a bunch of his HBO specials ove the last few days on Tubi. I can't help but wonder what his rants would sound like if he had lived to see what the world has become in these last few years.
Carlin was a god... Ricky is following in his footsteps. Though they are very different. George almost gave a TED talk on the Elite, Ricky just makes fun of them to expose them for who they are.
I miss George Carlin but Ricky helps fill the gap. George was more animated and Ricky has more material to work with as the woke show they are real nut jobs. Society today has more people who are obviously hooked on drugs. Kudos to Ricky !
It took me a while to warm to Ricky Gervais' humour all those years ago when he first came to promience, but I accept that I was an angry young woman carrying a lot of personal pain at that time & was offended by almost everything. I soon noticed that RG has one of the best comedic deliveries & genius of all time, but it's his sincerity & ability to make sense out of the absurd that's truly captivating!
Ricky Gervais has an uncanny ability to take a serious subject, and to de-construct it in a way, that makes it funny. He is a comedic genius. He can make people actually have a look at their lives. He can make people actually want to change their lives... Just a shame that he can't make the lefties, see sense...

The only thing I disagree with, is his take on atheism, but nothing about it offends me. If Ricky shows up at the Pearly Gates, and St Peter is there to greet him, Ricky will tell Peter the most hilarious jokes. Been a massive fan of Ricky Gervais for the longest time. I feel like my greatest achievement was convincing a work colleague that apparently hated him, to not just watch one of his comedy shows, but to actually listen and hear how extremely intelligent and insightful he is. He text me the next day saying he'd never laughed so much!!
