I have another approach. I put my choke tubes in dry and tighten them with a wrench with a firm hand tightening. This method will most always prevent the choke from working its way loose. But I also take the chokes out 2-3 time a year and thoroughly clean the threads on the tube and in the barrel. I remove all the built-up crud and carbon. I have found that this works better than oiling the threads. I believe that over time the oil dries up and mixes with the carbon forming a glue-like substance that will make the choke stick kin the barrel. But whatever you do, oil or no oil, take your choke out and clean all the threads a couple time a year and you will avoid problems.
Brand new Mossberg 940 tactical. They used blue locktite on the buffer tube retaining nut. I have a feeling they did the same on the choke tube. I believe I may have to give you a call...
Had to do this for a friend, luckily I was able to machine my own tools like you did. Exact same down to the map gas and the impact and if that’s a matco impact like it appears to be then we’re even down to the same brand of tools. Don’t do it for someone you don’t know, my buddy was ready to buy a new gun because a tube was stuck in his A5, so it was a “if it gets messed up or broken that’s fine” kinda thing
I have a rock island vr80 with no modifications I want to go out to shoot clays what is the size ammo that I can get that will not harm anything with this shotgun I have the modified choke in it now. Any help is appreciated thanks

This is a goud method. And I see it working on 99% of stuck tubes. But theres always one that is galled, that will destroy the barrel before it will turn...
BRB, going to go re-grease all my choke tube threads.

thats one hell of a stuck tube... do you take the tube and clean the outside if the tube and the inside of the barrel before putting it back in?
Yes. All the rust is removed from the barrel and tube. Anthony will cover all that in the next video.

Depending on the manufacturer, there's about 25 different sizes. I have ground them down with a tool post grinder as they've came in over the years.
