My unit still used the OTV, then a week before we deployed they dropped the MTV on us and NOBODY was happy. I felt like the Michelin Man lol. 0341 USMC 2007-20012.
About damn time! Why do you and POE Soldier take so damn long to listen to the Grunts in the field! We’ve been asking for years for a plate carrier as the main body amor! Speed and mobility = serviceability!!! I wore a small body armor kit in Afghanistan it was 62lbs with no water,no grenades and no radio what kind of bs is that!!!!
looks like a colab with blue force gear and the quick release tabs look like the derma carrier from ares. awesome, glad to see modern equipment for devil dogs. wouldn't mind getting one.
arbor arms cas plate carrier would have been a perfect replacement to the kdh; fits all the maritime requirements for the marine corps that even recon/anglico is using it
How about making the shoulder straps actual straps and not bulky. If I have to awkwardly shoulder my rifle with this new plate carrier(if they ever issue it) on my last year in the marine corps I’m done. How about increasing the mobility as well... there’s a reason why spec ops plate carriers are so efficient and beloved. This new plate carrier legit looks like they trimmed 1 in all around lol. Probably be great for mcmap
Kinda agree, but gear needs to be mission specific. Minimalist plate carriers don't always offer the protection needed by grunts kicking in doors with minimal intel.
@@ministermonkey7546 Depends on your unit. If your unit is made of a bunch of pricks like mine, they won’t let you use anything that’s not issued by cif because they see that as individualism or some shit and ruins their vision of a more uniformed marine corps.
Very fair question and the actual answer is to save money: Marines use 2 types of cammies (Woodland and Desert.) If the plate carrier were camouflaged they would need 2 of them, one for Woodland and one for Desert. Instead they use coyote brown because it blends with both camouflage patterns relatively well ish so they can issue them each one.
@@Totemparadox no it’s absolutely awful. I’ve never been so disappointed in gear in my life. It’s actually bulkier and next to impossible to shoulder your rifle. Especially if it’s an IAR buttstock. POG design. Give us the old one
Glad to see people who would be using this equipment were not consulted. There are dozens of COTs options that outperformed this years ago.
That MTV was killing me in OIF & OEF, glad they finally got smart. Infantry Rifleman USMC 2006-2011.

what armor system weighs 62lbs?
@@tarantulapettingzoo2980 I'm also very curious about that.

Thank you, about time. The butt always seemed to want to fight between wanting to rest on my vest or on my shoulder and it was annoying.
We’re halfway through FY20. Where’s it at?
It will be sad to see the current plate carrier go as it is so iconic for the USMC in the past decade.
kdh pc was not bad, the IMTV is a piece of shit tho
It’s 2020 7th regiment still does have them
45% lighter than what I had in 2008!? Guess they really listened to all our complaints lol
Nope, just saves money in shipping costs lol 😆
Deployed in FY19, never saw this.
@@danielpeterson8652 really they issued it to us in Camp Pendleton they are really nice man
We’re about to start FY21 and I have yet to see this in the fleet. Where’s it at?
Im finally getting mine “next month” first time hawaii has seen something new in a very long time
@@awsomegamer111 hawai shouldnt be getting anything lol..

its almost 2022 & im still issued the old hand me down carrier >:(
Where I can buy one
Yeah its not like a radio goes literally right where those tubes are
Yeah thats gonna be a pain in the ass. Hopefully they issue velcro wings for that
Its sad to see the kangaroo pouch disappear.
What is the brand ? A new KDH or First Spear ?
She said the tubes are from first spear
I thought the Marines always got the second rate stuff? This is god tier amazing compared to what we have in the Canadian Forces
Are the marines aloud to customize there plate carriers?
Fuck no we can’t customize them 😂
@@richirich999 I mean are you aloud to choose what pouches you put on them?

Yes to a certain point

Why don't marines get camouflaged body armour?

I want that legacy improved modular tactical vest.
It’s almost 2022 and we still don’t have it…
looks like i found a job for when i join the corps!
45% lighter than the IMTV doesn't mean anything to us anymore. How much lighter is it than the PC?
I HATE IT, just got it this week…
They look OK... but lazer-cut MOLLE is not good: nowhere near as versatile or hard wearing
These flaks are garabage I have one there’s not enough Molly’s on the front to keep the same amount of gear as my last flak this shit is garbage
главное чтобы бы при ядерной вспышке весь этот пластик не потек на ноги морскому пехотинцу...
If you were in the vicinity of a nuclear blast melted plastic would be the least of your worries.
Looks like crap and less useful than the Gen II.
Then you have something wrong with your eyes. It offers all the needed protection and the laser cut molle offers strenght and lightness.
