La grande époque ! Bardens,Latimer,Ward,Sinclair et Collins = extraordinaire !! Super morceau, super musiciens, super band et super album qu'est Moonmadness. Fantastique et merveilleuse musique, merci beaucoup Camel !!
Andy Ward is just magical. He might not be a technical beast but he has a special touch that I have never experienced in rock drumming. For my ears his unique lyrical style is only present in the sound of Manu Katche although they are very different styled drummers. What a loss for Camel and what a loss for Andy Ward also.
I have to be honest this is the first song I have heard from this awesome band. Growing up in the 60s and 70s never heard of them. I am saying up late tonight.
Andy Ward was so beyond to his age. As a musically; He was like a space-rock drummers of this age; he has special ability... Especially with Ferguson's impressive bas lines.. VIVA CAMEL!!! (come to ISTANBUL)
First heard this on WPLR a progressive FM Station in CT in the spring of '76. I immediately went out and bought the Album, it blew me away and I started collecting their works. But this One still does it for me. Thank You.
Thanks to UA-cam for suggestion, finally something different for me to discover in addition to my beloved early genesis, caravan, yes ...almost a combo of all of those, love the keyboards and guitar especially...cheers guys !
Happy late b-day! No matter how deep one dives into the classics, there's always more. And it gets better I swear. Its like someone is time travelling back there and comin up with new stuff lmao
Found this after watching a UA-cam prog rock compilation with Lady Fantasy. I had never heard of Camel and at first I wasn't sure I liked it. I wasn't sure how long I could listen to it. Then I became... how do I describe it... mesmerized... all the way to the end...
This is real magic! In the beginning of the studio version, I hear the sound of the opening of Secret of Mana, an epic game, since then I was hooked on especially this song. It's like gaming, this music, it's a great universe to be in.
First time listening to these guys for me...very impressive...thanks for sharing this with us Camel... I remember Mel Collins from Roxy Music...these guys are tight.
Really fine sound. Strong ensemble playing with impeccable soloing. Content-wise, influence of Mel Collins-era King Crimson apparent (especially in jam section when the horn shines.)
Realized this might be an official Camel upload. I forgot about these guys. Blessed artistry. I remember the album cover controversy for Mirage from decades back.
Oh my god this was such a great lineup. In 77 I somehow wandered into your dressing room at oxford polytechnic, where you all kindly signed my copy of moonmadness (Of course I still have it). I was a shy youngster so am still amazed I did that. But I guess that's what young people do when they are inspired by the music. BTW everything sounds just as good on Ichigo ichie as it did back then.
I think this was the same tour / year that I saw them at the Roxy in Los Angeles. About a minute into the first song there was a power outage and everything came to a halt. It took something like 45 min. or more to get it restored and they started over from the beginning. Great show in a nice small club with great sound.
A relaxed song does not have to be slow to be relaxed... even a faster one like this can swing and take you away like a gentle breeze. Lunar Sea is the best example for musical craftmanship on the highest level: Grooving and swinging rhythm and melodies as soft as cool air in the morning. Nobody else than Latimer understood that way of playing. One of my very favourite Camel Tracks beside Air Born and Preparation / Dunkirk. Thanks for posting. Uuuh, by the way: Nice to see Mel Collins playin' saxofone... In german television he was temporalily known from the Harald Schmidt Show (Helmut Zerlett Band). Best regards from Germany.
Real musicians. Absolute class!
One of best Progressive Rock Bands in history !...
I bought a Camel album when i was 14 csuse the artwork at the album, and fuck yeah what a music
La grande époque !
Bardens,Latimer,Ward,Sinclair et Collins = extraordinaire !!
Super morceau, super musiciens, super band et super album qu'est Moonmadness. Fantastique et merveilleuse musique, merci beaucoup Camel !!
This is amazing jazz...and perfect musicianship...
Andy Ward, what a great drummer! And Latimer, a great guitarist, one of my favorites!
Transported me back to the 70’s, saw them 4 times in Liverpool in that time, still listen to these guys, brilliant music and the best times.

Andy Ward. A lifelong hero of mine. Awesome!
When a 9 minute song feels like 3 minutes you know it's a hell of a song!
I have to be honest this is the first song I have heard from this awesome band. Growing up in the 60s and 70s never heard of them. I am saying up late tonight.
Absolutely mesmerizing
Simply the best guitarist ever. Such emotion and feel.
WOW! So great. I loved this album dearly and played it all the time. Still have my vinyl copy!
This is such a brilliant performance. The whole band is working together fantastically.
Moonmadness is one of my favourite albums of all time.
Air Born is my favorite Camel tune. It's more dreampop / shoegaze than Prog, no squiggly superfluous bits, just a lovely trippy song.
Andy Ward 5/8 drumming here flows so well and powerful. So inspirational.
What an amazing performance! these guys are so talented!
Outstanding performance! I love this song and all the feeling and intensity in it. Thank you Camel!
These guys are my age and I never heard of them. A friend 15 years younger turned me on to them. Excellent.
The performance is so professional...so flawless. As I'm 26, I wish I could travel back in time and assist to those amazing gigs !!!!
This was my favorite all time Camel lineup. Magic.
my favorite band from the 70's
absolutely amazing band one of the best of all times !!!
Andy Ward was so beyond to his age. As a musically; He was like a space-rock drummers of this age; he has special ability... Especially with Ferguson's impressive bas lines.. VIVA CAMEL!!! (come to ISTANBUL)
First time I've listened to Camel, heard of them obviously, but ... fantastic, a reborn vinyl enthusiast who will be checking these guys out.
A very happy birthday to Andy Ward. His drums arrangements are outstanding, magical, poweful, unbelievable!
I've alwayz loved the sound of single-headed concert toms, that punchy boom-y sound.
Majestic! I'm going to watch their Moonmadness tour tonight in Utrecht (The Netherlands)! Looking very forward to this!!!
First heard this on WPLR a progressive FM Station in CT in the spring of '76. I immediately went out and bought the Album, it blew me away and I started collecting their works. But this One still does it for me. Thank You.
One of the best bands of the 70s'. So dam good musicians!
One of many underrated groups. It’s just that in the 70s there were too many experiments and too many good groups.
this is a fantastic presentation , Latimer , Bardens and Ward plays this song with their heart.
This is the first time I've ever listened to Camel although I've heard of them. Man, I've got some catching up to do...this was awesome.
Over the years I have loved all the lineups but this one remains special.
Magic song! Love that spacey waves of string synthesizer and saxophone by Mel Collins
Camel, some of the world's finest jazz rock EVER.
Saw Camel at Hornsea Floral Hall in 1973. That's a small seaside town in East Yorkshire, UK.
Thanks to UA-cam for suggestion, finally something different for me to discover in addition to my beloved early genesis, caravan, yes ...almost a combo of all of those, love the keyboards and guitar especially...cheers guys !
I can literally ignore everything and anyone when I hear this song! So much Gold!! Classic!
Completely awesome masterpiece one of the greatest bands ever assembled
As far as I'm concerned, the best track off of the best Camel album! Amazing!
Happy late b-day! No matter how deep one dives into the classics, there's always more. And it gets better I swear. Its like someone is time travelling back there and comin up with new stuff lmao
Andy . happy birthday. you will always be a great drummer
No fakery, no distractions, no Dj, no looping. There was a time you had to be that fking good to be in a band. Long live real music.
Great song
i did not hear about them until today ! what a progressive rock band !!!
My God-to be at that concert in the presence of such musical giants
So many cameras, so many microphones - for those of you who tend to ask, this is PROG.
Mell Collins also play in King Crimson right ?
Tough! ,Badass, amazing, fushion jazz rock, timeless, epic unique, free ride!!! 😯😎👍🔥💣💥🔧🔨🔩🎹🎷🎺🎸
one of the most amazing live perfomances i have ever seen
Found this after watching a UA-cam prog rock compilation with Lady Fantasy.

to me, they are the magnum opus of symphonic prog. this band's legacy lives on, really love their tunes
The brightest stars burn the brightest. Happy belated B'day Andy. We miss you!
Incredible performance Thanks Camel
Extremely underrated band!
Here I am listening to the music and it sounds amazing
Happy birthday Andy! It was great to spend a few minutes with you guys. Great performance!
First saw Camel in 1972 twice , supporting Barclay James Harvest , a year before they had released their first album.
Moon madness love this band ha im 66 now posting this February 2019
I thought I knew every prog rock band from the late 60's through the mid 70's,. I missed these guys! How did they fly under my radar?
Andy is pure love. My favourite Camel performance. And in the 5:06 starts the most intense 4 minutes jam of the 70s prog rock
I Always loved it ♥
Latimer outstanding guitarist.
Really fine sound. Strong ensemble playing with impeccable soloing. Content-wise, influence of Mel Collins-era King Crimson apparent (especially in jam section when the horn shines.)
Just Perfect, love this band
Camel is amazing!
Thank you Camel
Great band
Realized this might be an official Camel upload. I forgot about these guys. Blessed artistry. I remember the album cover controversy for Mirage from decades back.
One of the happiest days of my life was when I discovered this song listening an k7 tape!
Oh my god this was such a great lineup. In 77 I somehow wandered into your dressing room at oxford polytechnic, where you all kindly signed my copy of moonmadness (Of course I still have it). What a beautiful way to play "rock" instruments !
superb band.

Reminds me of Steely Dan with space age! I love this sound!
i am 58, still remember these guys back in the 70`s Glasgow appollo

I think Andy Ward is one of the five best drummers in Rock History
First rate prog driven by the bouncing bass of Canterbury ‘ finest Richard Sinclair ; well done Camel
simply awesome
This great performance was held 40 years ago!
Really very good players and music
Just getting to know this band and i must say that this is really tickling my fancy. :D
I remember seeing them live in Arnhem Holland somewhere around late 70 ties. I believe it was in the Stokvishal.
Back in the day when Latimer played Les Pauls.... God, I loved that tone. Clear, but rich, and just singing. Lyrical.
