Uncle Clyde it is Tumeric. Saffron comes in strands and is the stamen from the Crocus flower, it is also very expensive, so local shops do not sell it. People call Tumeric by the name saffron because it has the same color.

Uncle Clyde, Saffron is the dried stigmas and styles of the Saffron Crocus flower, whereas Tumeric is a root like Ginger. The dried stigmas (thread-like parts of the flower) are used to make saffron spice. It can take 75,000 saffron blossoms to produce a single pound of saffron spice. By the way, the pot looking good especially as the cooking now start. 🤤🤤🤤😋😋😋

Vanilla Saffron Imports president Juan San Mames. His San Francisco direct-import business currently offers saffron for $1,162.24 per pound, or $72.95 per ounce, and carefully vets its saffron for compliance with ISO standards.

Add a little bit of lime in the soaking of peas and grains to break down the phytic acid to properly digest peas and grains, like wheat or rice. Soak within 24 hours.
