Welcome to my first look at the Space Age Titan! In this video I go through the announcement, including the units and three new great buildings! So far the age is looking a bit more exciting than SAJM due to the new great buildings which look really good, but other than that it's just another copy of SAM.

It's amazing how no one seems to care that this is basically Space Age Mars MK V. In comparison, there was near rioting when SAJM released and people realized that it's just more of the same. I guess those who cared just ended up quitting.
It's so sad. Before AF every concurrent Age was a completely new setting and the technology progression was always evident
Then AF - VF there's no tech progression and instead just different aestheticals themes all of which got tired and old by the time you're halfway through the age
And now SAM - SAT are all the same lazy aesthetic and the same formula of colonizing a different planet.
Remember how when you aged up to PE you basically started playing a completely different game when it came to producing goods and fighting? We will never have game changing ages like that again...
The main difference this time are the 3 new great buildings.
I understand things get imaginary after the contemporary era. Mars was cool but after that nothing changed. One dominant unit, a new colony, etc. I played for about 4 years but totally lost interest suddenly in SAJM.
Thank you for adding the combined city def into the spreadsheet. Would it be possible to also add the combined stats of attacking and defending armies together as a lot of buildings has both?

Do you have any information about the requeuering quests?
Any idea what's the progression for unlocking future levels? 10-->11 is 80 Goods, 11->12 is 160, so is 12->13 then 240 (i.e. +80 per level) or 320 (x2 per level)?
Seems like it's a linear scaling, so for that building +80 each level

Is there a sequential listing of the 60 main story line quests and 45 side quests in SAT?
Haven't been able to keep up with SAT sadly, so probably won't be more on it from me, but you can check out the story quest list on the fandom wiki, that might have already been updated:)
@@MooingCatFoE Continuing to benefit from the informative content you provide. Haven't seen anything posted on the fandom wiki or forum yet about the list of story and side quests, but hopefully someone will emerge soon.
Honestly I wouldn't dare to go to SAT era without seeing the fighting first. If it's bad, that means at least 1 entire year locked in a OF 2.0. Let's wait for the final stats.
However, the GBs are pretty good. If the Pegasus gives the same FPs as CC, for example, it might be worth building it. It would be fun.
Regardless of stats I doubt it will be that different from the other space ages, should be fine
@@MooingCatFoE Mortat on artilery basicly negates any non-flying unit, flyers negates artilery ... so the fighting will be similar to SAM (only flying units are able to perform "blind" fighting, ... and only counter for flying units seems to be the light unit which would always survive 1st turn unless hit by KE or CS) ... rouges are impossible to use due to mortar as well
Fighting is always the same - at least for GvG abd GbG, we only need to figure out the army combination that could beat anything up to certain attrition...in this age it would undoubteably be 8 flyers
SAJM fighting is already terrible so we'll just be excited for a change. The goods value alone will make it worth aging up, let alone more space
@@staschkuras3568 the guys on my guild do pretty good with harpoon and rogues. As David said above, I also only see the fighting with 8 fast units in SAT. Otherwise the artillery will cause too much damage to the rogues. IMO it's the worst of the space eras.
@joaofstock SaV units were better imo, Power Dragons anyway. Both Sav and Sajm huge downgrade vs Saab. Nails were the greatest among all ages. Even better than HT's or fighting in Colonial
I love attack as I am a fighter. I also LOVE guild good buildings. That said, a part of me wished they got a little more creative. There is so many special abilities that could have been used.
Regarding soft locking, I think this is more about getting people to spend diamonds (to replace coins and goods) than it is for soft locking. It opens up more opportunity and incentive to use diamonds, which I'm sure will give them a huge boost of money for the first few months of this release. Its a way to monetize the craze of powerleveling a new GB when it comes out. Makes me think they chose something simple like attack and guild goods because they know that is top of the pile for what people want.
MooingCat, you made a reference about "it looks like city defense will be needed for gbg in the future" - what is this referring to? Thanks for the awesome video and update as always.
In the spoiler section there are some new icons that seems to suggest city defense will be used in GBG: forum.beta.forgeofempires.com/index.php?threads/new-boosts-new-inventory-tab-for-fragments.16267/
There are also some other GBG changes and Inno have talked about doing a bigger overhaul of GBG, so it's very likely city defense will play a role in that.

(Edit: for the coins a GB that produce them might solve the problem. Example: Virgo Project gives 100k coin a day at level 10 and over 1 million at level 63 and above. Château Frontenac about half those coins values)
I doubt it'll make a big impact on the number of goods you can get, probably better off with other buildings buying the goods when available
TT is already extremely attractive to lower rank players, idk who convinced you it wasn't. A building that lets you get top age goods can't be anything but good. And for higher ranked people it lets you trickle in lower aged goods. It's overall a great building
Never build the Virgo Project. I've seen enough people troll themselves building it for GE5.
@@150booyadragon not saying it's not good or that it won't help, but looking at the costs we have now, it will probably cost many hundreds of thousands, if not millions of goods to get each building up to level 60-80. Even if you get 100 per day from TT that'll take decades per GB.
Sure, it'll definitely help get the building to level 20, perhaps even 30, but beyond that you'll need other sources.
@@150booyadragon if you're in a decent guild you just ask for any good you want and get unfair trades. Better to spend your FPs somewhere else. You can even buy goods using FPs and it would be cheaper than level a TT. And lastly, the income would probably be too little for what's needed.
Virgo is super useless. Don't forget that you have to win 2 waves in GE and virgo does not trigger in the second.
@@150booyadragon It will take you decades of using Truce Tower to gather the goods yourself. It's a terrible great building. If you want to be efficient then your only option is to buy the goods in exchange for forge points from a Space Age Titan goods seller.
In the past the videos were much more engaging and less technical, I actually had to skip ahead a few times as the commentator's voice is so monotone (no offense), but this is a game make it more fun - energetic. Lord knows why some of the new units are (as mentioned in the video) "useless" - how long have you had to develop this new age and to get "useless" from one of your own doesn't say much for Inno. I do like the new GB's although the design could have been a bit more unique for each one and I like how much more challenging they are to raise (something for us long-term members to strive for).

It looks like they changed the chance of getting cartographer. It is not guaranteed do get 7/8 from piggy bank anymore

@@drudi1 Did you check the pool of available prizes, by clicking the question mark, below the prize? You have to spend diamonds to swap the reward, if the Cartographer's House is one of the available rewards.
@@Zektor101 yes, i checked it. got it only once now as available but spending 3000dmds for chest that contains only maybe 2 or 3 cartographers is not worth it i guess

Well, time to tear down the trinity, I guess. Even at level 100, they seem pretty worthless now.
Everything is getting worse except INNO's earnings obviously
I've been playing this game for years and it's getting more and more boring, nothing revolutionary except in events the buildings are much better than the old ones. It's becoming real inflation. Inno has obviously found a market niche, as players spend the most there. I really don't understand, but Inno understands because it sees everything and knows how to push you to spend money.
But what bothers me the most is GBG. Players from different eras are fighting there, but the differences are huge. A player who is in SAAB can do 20 fights without losses In SAT he can't do 3, although he has twice the att/def. Every era from SAAB onwards is more difficult, but in SAT it is terrible. You progress to the point, but you regress.
The new GBG will further increase the gap between large and small guilds. The competition will be even less, it is already the case that two are playing and the other 6 are watching, but it will be even worse from now on.
Otherwise, Inno what you're doing is short-distance running. You will shoot yourself in the foot.
Another SAM and absolutely useless GB, big disappointment.
GB's seem like a huge improvement vs Flying Island and AI Core. In the end game the costs won't matter. Newer/Lower age players will have a hard time but that's kind of the point.
