- I have been thinking about this for a while now, and over the last month I've slowly come to terms with the fact that I need to make some changes going forward.
I am not quitting UA-cam, I still enjoy making videos, but the types of videos I make will change going forward.

You hit the nail on the head. FoE feels like a chore to play. I love the community I'm part of, but the game itself is more tedious than someone with my work schedule allows. We'll see what the future holds. Thank you for all you've done for the players of FoE
You are an absolute legend. Your hard work has been very much appreciated. But its only a game and you got to do what makes you happy. I'm in the same boat. I pop in and out of the game now rather than spending hours on it. Totally get where you're coming from. Wish you all the best outside the game.
We are ALL losing a lot of interest in the game, as INNO has mostly destroyed all the fun things and added nothing but way too much tedium. You're not alone!

Totally understand your decision, and feel very similar about changes in the game that have made it much less appealing over time. But thank you so, so much for all you've done over the years. I'm glad you mention the St Pat's event because frankly your FoE Helper guide is so valuable, you're practically spoon feeding a ton of people. If you only make one guide a year, please make it this one!

I think many of us feel the way you do. Like you, I enjoy the St Patrick's event and quite look forward to it but don't care for any of the others. I have only one world so I can just dip in and out when I want to. Thank you very much for the guides you have created over the years. I have found them very helpful and they definitely added to my enjoyment of the game. But nothing lasts forever and once it becomes a chore it is time for you to move on. I wish you all the very best for the future and thanks again for all that you have done for us all.

Your reason for not wanting to play events any more is exactly like mine: I'm working more hours at a paying job I love. Thanks for the reassurance that you will still do guides for the St. Patrick's Day event. Your videos turned that event from my least favorite to my most favorite event. So, I'm very happy you will continue those.
Advice for all who still play for at this point is ask yourself 2 questions. 1. Is it worth it anymore? 2. If it is how so? All comments have hit the nail on the head. Foe is becoming a free labor game that gets worse every month actually more like a full blown career at this point...imho
A chore, you hit the nail on the head, I use to have other hobbies, I use to spend just a few minutes here and there on FOE, but now it’s becoming almost full-time. I didn’t mind a long special event here and there. But now you get a small holiday between events. To get different household chores done. I don’t know where Inno thinks we have the time, GE, GbG, PvP, QI, The Settlements, and the events. And many of us have multiple worlds, so times x.
For one, Quantum Incursions, I don’t know why Inno thought something that was a like sort of crazy Settlement, because everything makes or breaks the fighting part of it depending on how you get your settlement working, if you mess it up, you are going to have trouble helping your guild mostly. I never played GbG because of not having a computer so I’m only going off what everyone has said, there was no building, all resources were taken from your town, and the fighting went on only for certain hours. If I only had to strengthen my town to help play it wouldn’t be too bad. But this, I’ve had enough trouble doing any settlement, without this crazy settlement plus fighting thing.
So they want to remove the players that have been playing many years, some that have been playing since the beginning and change to the hard core gamers that sit in front of their screen almost twenty-four-seven. They see how much Fortnite rolls in every year and wants part of this pie. FOE isn’t Fortnite, and I can’t see players that are playing Fortnite changing to this, losing a small fortune they drop and don’t forget time. People might have played a little more over some months when most couldn’t work because of some global happenings. But people are back at work, so have students. Making less time for playing games, I’ve lost count of friends who have just stopped playing, players that had created their own guilds and they were thriving. And I wonder how many it was because of time. There’s only so much of it and sooner or later somethings got to go. I also keep thinking should I continue, because of how much time it takes up every day.
I understand Mooingcat’s point of view totally, I just wished Inno would have continued the way they were years ago, I think more players would be better than much fewer hardcore gamers.
After years of what is very much like a job, folks get tired. MooingCat is going to way of FoElite and Liliana The Magnificent.

Since august 2023 i started losing interest in foe by feb 2024 i had completly quit. The game has become a competition of clicking spam in combination with a huge turn into making the game pay to win in essence
You have been a wonderful support. That Inno bombards us with more and more things to do only makes more and more people quit.

thank you for all that you have done for the game. You have certainly helped me in FoE. While I got a lot of tips from your event videos, I also stopped playing events about 9 months ago. I sure understand your feelings about FoE. I am sad that FoE changed but I would like to think that other worthy games are thriving from an influx of great, fun gamers. I hope you find such a game that you are excited about.
Lastly, I sincerely thank all FoE players. You helped me get through Covid with most of my sanity intact.

Inno has lost their way. it is true. I am ust hanging on to caring, myself. Mostly, it is just bc of the levels i committed with my time. The clear break is looking more attractive each day

Of all the bad updates I saw them do for this game, constant updates that no one asked for or most hated that they pushed anyway even with so much negative feedback on stuff like the original pvp tower which they at first removed but still wanted to force into the game anyway what amazes me is the thing that actually killed this game was too many events dropping too strong buildings making Great Buildings redundant when the game was at its most balanced was when Shrines of Knowledge level 1 was the best way to get more FP before they even ruined them. And their solution being to lock the highest tier of the building behind both tons of forced playtime and real life money.
They have done everything in their power over the years to make sure FOE dies.
what will Inno do without MooingCat's free labor?

Totally understandable. These boost upgrades were great, but now there’s much to do and not precisely fun things. QI is not that exciting as it seems, it’s repetitive, it feels like starting over, and after playing some years it’s not getting funnier. Anyway, we’ll see you around when something exciting comes to the game, whether it is events or something that makes us come back. Thank you for your guides.
So are you going to work for Inno games in the future or make an alternative to foe tools?
The game has become very focused on revenue for Inno. Every aspect of the game is made to make more people pay. Many old players have left the game. They focus on getting money from new players that want to play like the older players but don’t want to invest much time. Players like me who don’t spend ever and just play a lot are not in the focus. The game is not made to please players like us. As long as there are enough old players that attract new players to pay to catch up.
What will we do without you, MooingCat? 😢

Hi! As I understand you, I have long come to the idea that reviewing Forge of Empires is now more than just a hobby. It takes a lot of time - constant content in the form of reviews and event guides, rivals, construction guides, streams - this is already a full-fledged job. I wish you to follow the path you have chosen. Let your videos be less frequent, but brighter. It's easy to get tired of this game, but it's hard to recover!

Времени на это уходит очень много - постоянный контент в виде обзоров и руководств по событиям, соперники, гайды по строительству, стримы - это уже полноценная работа. Я желаю тебе идти по тому пути, который ты выбрал. Пусть будут твои ролики реже, но ярче. Устать от этой игры легко, а восстановиться трудно!
When I started playing this game, FoE was basically from the start of the game. I have stopped playing because it is boring now and it takes so long to release a new level.
Quantum Incursions is a pay to play game past difficulty level VI.
know exactly where you are coming from, way to much to do. The game used to be something where you could pop on and do a few things, now you have to spend hours to complete everything. Plus every event gives building that make the last event buildings obsolete. No fun at all now.

Have you ever considered programming a game similar to FOE, but without its many faults?
Some day I think it would be fun to (try to) make a game, but probably not multiplayer, there's so much infrastructure behind the scenes that I don't really want to deal with.
⏳ If You're spending more than ~30 minutes per day on FoE, You might be over investing... Burning out on a casual diversion is ridiculous 😂
Because you weren't here, I miss the free Cultural Seattlement 😔 inno have nothing on the summer event on Fandom, sad to say FoE is dying at a rapid pace.
Fandom has always been fan-made, but yeah the fact that it's not as up to date as it used to is telling.
