    I am new to shooting. I got this gun when my dad passed away. I just took a shooting class and was shown how to shoot it. Although the slide is hard, the gentleman showed me the correct way. Thank you so much for the viedo for cleaning. I did not have a manual. And this is going to allow me, to not only shoot it, but take it apart and clean.

    Thanks for a clear and complete video on the Beretta 84/85, I just acquired one and its a dream to shoot and the video gives me a great visual on field stripping and cleaning,

    Clean it when you are done shooting for the day. Is ok.
    you do not have to stop shooting and clean it, but when you are finished for the day then you would clean it. I am happy the video helped you.

    the chance is 2% and that 2% is when the person is not the one being attacted but helping someone else. 2%.... 2 in 100 times..... that means any gun you have will work... and that said I am done with this string... it was beetten to deth. Thank you for your banter.... way too much fun....

    As a civilian if you need a firearm for self defense than 98% of the time it will happen with in 3’ and you will only shoot 3 rounds and will be over in 3 seconds. Any gun with any round will save you life, that’s what needs to happen; it just needs to save you life!

    I love this gun very reliable but it's the caliber don't get me wrong 380 acp 9x17 9mm browning 9 short is a decent round but I like 38spl and up and this is what me and my boys would call a watergun lol because of the caliber itself but overall it's a great outstanding gun and what made me fall in love with this gun is Charles Bronson on Def Wish 2 great gun and great movie lol

      +Ronnie Jones Depends where you live, I am in Florida and it never gets cold enough to have to wear layers of closes. This round up against a t-shirt... well the t-shirt stands no chance, either does the person wearing it... remember the round is meant for close range. Thank you for your comments I am sure lots of people will agree with you.

    many distributers have exclusives, I know Bersa makes wood grips for them sold from there website so it is not a stretch to say it was a disrupters exclusive offering.

    My slide catch holds my Beretta 84bb open some times when there is plenty rounds left in the magazines. I've tried 4 different new magazines and it happens on all of them. It seems like it is too loose. Do you have any knowledge to help me?

    • @AlansFirearms
      @AlansFirearms  6 років тому +2

      Hi and sorry it took so lone to get back to you. If it is not the mag it might be the ammo you are using. Try a different ammo and also this hand gun was designed to shoot ball ammo NOT HOLLOW POINT. hoe this helps. if it turns out to still jams then you need to bring it to a good gunsmith. Thank you for the comment

    • @raymondwilliams6601

      the culprit happened to be a slide catch spring that had failed and was bent out of its original shape. Replaced. Works fine now. It was a surplus gun before I got it.

  • @AlansFirearms

    I do not want to be shot with anything but a center mass shot is as follows, 22=35%, 22mag=40%, 25=45%, 32=63%, 380=70%, 38=83%, 9mm=91%, 10mm=95%, 40s&w=92%, 357=96%, 45=95%. this is the statistic on kills for one shot center mass shots. Now here is where it gets interesting, a not vital shot drops its stopping by ¾ on all but the 45ACP, the 45ACP only drops to 85% stopping power

    Hi Alan, your video was made to order for me since I was able to find a new Cheetah online. To break a gun in I know you need to fire about 500 rounds. At what point should I stop to clean it? 200 rounds? 300? Thanks!

    • @kevingrant6962

      It is part #51 on the exploded view of the m86. The mag. Safety spring.

    • @AlansFirearms
      @AlansFirearms  8 років тому

      It goes behind part 60 and the screw #61 goes through 60 and the spring the short tail goes up and is away from the pistol and goes into a slot on part 28 if I am seeing this rite... My advise, bring it to a gun smith, you took it apart past a field strip. if you are near my store bring it in and I will help you. Sorry I could not be of more help.

  • @kevingrant6962
    @kevingrant6962 8 років тому

    alan. im not sure how i can send you this picture but the spring in question is part #51 on the schematic. It is a mag. safety spring. The weapon seems to function fine w/o it but i want to be sure. thank you for your help sir.

    Sir, I have a model 84BB .380 that is very hard to pull the slide to load. Is this normal or do I need to have it looked into?

    • @AlansFirearms
      @AlansFirearms  10 років тому

      it should not be hard to pull back but if you do not have the strength to do it that could be a problem, if you have other autos and have no problem with them then I would do the following. 1. dissemble the gun "refer to this video" clean the slide rails and the frame rails. I am referring to the parts the slide into each other. when putting oil on the gun just put the oil on a cotton patch and wipe down the gun, use very little oil "les is more". if this does not help then you should have a reliable gun smith or armorer look at it.

      I have a new acquisition an 84FS - Same problem- you need to be Arnold Swarzenegger in order to rack the slide- I have tried everything- latest I drilled a 3/8" Hole about 1.75" deep in a block of wood- to accommodate the guide spring which is 5/16" Diam and about 3" long- I put spring in board and depress it with a heavy weight -heavy enough to keep it depressed- left it like that overnight- This worked to a slight degree- but not enough- I am going to buy an aftermarket spring next with the hope that it does not have the tension of the original- Hope that helps you-

      Robert OBrien what you are doing can caues damage to the firearm and YOU!. Please do not play gun smith, If you are having that much trouble bring it to a qulified person to make any safe changes. If then it is still not working for you then trade it in for a gun that fits you. Good luck and I hope you take my advice

    I guess you like to watch a lot of TV, and action movies, I bet you and your buddies sit around and talk opinions like they are facts! Fact one! You can’t count on a well placed shot in real life!!! It just won’t happen. only a hit with a 45 will stop the other guy 95% of the time any where on the body. But this only maters if you are law enforcement. The truth is, you carry the largest gun possible that you are willing to carry 24/7

  • @SharkWhisperer1988
    @SharkWhisperer1988 10 років тому

    meh, Beretta 84 all the way!

  • @AlansFirearms
    @AlansFirearms  11 років тому

    NO! NO! NO! Most people can shoot a 45 just as well any high velocity round, but that is not the point. Any bullet will stop an attacker at 3 feet & that is where they will be 98% of the time. law enforcement, is 9 yards 90% of the time. I am not telling you what to carry I am just saying you should not be telling anyone what is right or wrong, you do not know enough about real time shootings and that is all that matters. Anything else is just a best guess and that will get someone killed.

  • @AlansFirearms
    @AlansFirearms  11 років тому

    Once again I will say this. If you are not a cop or in combat on the battle field then you just look at reality and facts, everything else is just a bunch of BULL!!!. That you like to use to sound smart, but being that kind of smart will get someone killed! Here the facts from the FBI. When a civilian has to use a hand gun in self defense 98% of the time it is 3 feet, 3 shoots and 3 seconds. They do not break down the size of the ammo or firearms because at 3 feet it all turns out the same!!!!

    tell that to the familys of the dead people that was used to compile them stupid statistic. there are always exceptions that is the small % that was not a kill shot. the statistics were based only on 1 shot stops. in this study a stop only counted as a kill... 100 times more people servive hand gun shots then die from them. and that is beacause most people MISS,,,, yes you people that spend hours at the range can't shoot for shit when you life is on the line!!!

    Field stripping videos on semi autos are almost useless. Al one has to do is read a manual-LMAO. When are one of you guys going to do a full tear down disassembly. Now that would be a worthy video.
