    just purchased a new 84fs today and really love it. I like Berettas grip angle and ambidextrous features. and with the modern solid copper lehigh +P rounds I don't feel any less gunned than when I'm carrying the 92FS compact.

    I always loved the look of these pistols because they are miniature versions of the big Model 92. However - now-a-days it is easy to find a bigger caliber gun such as a 9, 40, or 45 in the same size gun or smaller.

    When you get to a pistol this size in a 380.acp ( or similar caliber), may as well go for the 84FS...5 more rounds thats basically the same size. Nice video folks, Happy Holidays, MIKE.

    • @GusFogle
      @GusFogle 5 років тому +1

      Hardly thinner. Not much of a difference handling them back to back. The 84FS is by all means a really slim weapon.

    I have an 84 FS- shoots great groups at 21+ feet and never has malfunctioned even right out of the box. It's not meant to be a target pistol at 25 yards, but it will do it. It is a PD/HD defensive weapon. Still hits a human size paper target down range ( which is the term for shooting in front of you at any distance). I agree the action is tight as hell. Quality there. All metal on metal semi autos need to limber up a bit in the first 300 rounds or so. Keep them well lubricated during the break in. Militec lubricant is the best in my opinion.

  • @mg-7047

    Great pistol, I agree, but it's not a steel gun as stated at 1:40; the frame is an aluminum alloy. Beautiful location, btw.

    The M85F. Is a excellent pistol. It is not really a pocket pistol. But is a good purse or car gun. With the accuracy and reliability. It would be a excellent choice.

    I have been attracted to these .380 Italian Berettas for a while- I have hesitated buying one for two reasons- First, the very high price of 380 ammo- It doesn't make sense, but I can purchase 9mm ammo for much less money- The other reason- I get a lot more stopping power if I buy a 9mm pistol.--But these are very cool looking pistols-

    I have an 84 fs cheetah. what i dont like about it is RACKING THE SLIDE is tough for me. It's difficult to get a grip with my thumb and forefinger.
    i also have the wood grips and my hand is sore after shooting a few boxes of ammo.
    I wouldn't recommed this gun for ladies as a CCW or for your first pistol.
    there is also a little trick you have to do to get the take down level back up when reattaching the barrel.

    • @John_Malloy
      @John_Malloy 3 роки тому +1

      I have the 84 fs as well and I would not recommend it. All your negative issues are correct. These review videos are just blowing smoke. A "recoil" operated 9mm will actually be softer shooting than the 84's straight blow back design.

    I just recently acquired a 1967 Beretta 380. The prior owner decided to remove the rust on the weapon by immersing it in third grade vinegar. Can you give me some suggestions as to how to proceed from here? There is a little more rest, and as you can imagine, it will need to be blues again. Thank you for all your suggestions in advance

    How stiff is the slide? I'm looking for a pistol for my gal with small hands and not a lot of grip strength.

    • @dudelabowskee1608
      @dudelabowskee1608 7 років тому +1

      pinkiewerewolf The slide on this is quite stiff and there is less purchase to get a good grip, compared to other guns. It may loosen up after several hundred rounds (just bought one, so hoping that is the case) Probably not going to be easy for your gal to do.

    • @pinkiewerewolf
      @pinkiewerewolf 7 років тому

      Dude Labowskee thanks for the info. I'm going to have to look fir another Ca Compliant alternative.

    • @dudelabowskee1608
      @dudelabowskee1608 7 років тому

      pinkiewerewolf From what I have read, it will loosen up after about 500 rds. I will be taking mine to the range soon and will see, over time. I also had a Sig P238 - great gun and may be a better choice for her.

    • @pinkiewerewolf
      @pinkiewerewolf 7 років тому

      Thats exactly what I was thinking. I've heard the P238 racks pretty easily and that for a smaller firearm the recoil isn't too bad for her.
      I put lighter springs on the P380 and she still has issues but a lot of those would go away if she put more time into practice... but I'm not going to push her any faster than she is willing to go.

    • @dudelabowskee1608
      @dudelabowskee1608 7 років тому +1

      pinkiewerewolf I've put 200 rds through mine and both the slide and the magazines are noticeably easier to rack/load, respectively.

  • @hellgate1981

    love my cheetah......super tigger.....super short reset........and super accurate once you get used to the front sight. Nope......this should not be your first pistol.....nor your self defense pistol (that would be your glock). This is you classy, having fun pistol. Mine is still super tight......and the slide is really tight.......this has a narrow grip.....the 84fs is a little more comfortable to me, but I wanted this single stack version

    • @44357514
      @44357514 8 років тому +1

      I hate GLOCKS because of the Metal safety device in the center of the trigger that strikes your trigger finger after every shot. However, I like other brands of guns with the same safety device in the trigger - such as the Springfield Armory brand of pistols - because the safety device is wider and doesn't hurt the finger.

  • @norseman5041
    @norseman5041 5 років тому

    now, tell me how is this double action / single action thing. You say you will transend into the single action? I thought a gun was either ''double action'' or ''single action'' meaning, if a gun is ''double action'' it can both fire with pulling the hammer back by using the trigger, or it can also be fired by pulling the hammer back with the finger, on a loaded chamber and it will fire. Clearly a gun that you HAVE to pull the hammer back to fire is a single action, meaning there is ONLY one way to fire the gun. But what do I know ?

    • @GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC
      @GunsGearOnTargetTrainingLLC  5 років тому

      Norse Man thanks for commenting . DA semi autos have the first shot in DA. The trigger pull cocks and drops the hammer . On the first shot it’s DA but once the slide cycles the next shot in in SA. Meaning the trigger is only performing the act of dropping the hammer. Unless the gun is SAO (1911) or DAO ( some semis are set up that way). Best, and stay safe!
