    Thank you for this video. The speed was perfect. You were slow enough and clear enough to understand. I was using #4 yarn and an H hook because I had started with another pattern, got the brim done and couldn't follow the pattern. It worked out great and I ended up making the full hat. Thank you!

    Very good tutorial. I've been crocheting for many, many years. Self-taught from the days long before the internet. What an advantage new crocheters have today! I have to admit, even though I've been crocheting as long as I have, I am learning all kinds of new things from younger individuals. Love how creative everyone is. I struggled with this a bit because my old hands aren't what they used to be, but I finished, and it looks really great! Thank you!

    • @creationsmisfit
      @creationsmisfit  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much for watching and commenting! I'm glad you were able to finish and enjoyed the tutorial. I agree that it's much easier to learn now. My mom taught me the basics when I was about 8 and I never really crocheted again until a few years ago. I started watching UA-cam tutorials and learned quickly, so I wanted to make my own to help others. I'm 43 now and absolutely love crochet! ❤️

    hello i have a question im using a very small yarn a yarn bee soft and sleek dk low pill yarn its probably a catergory one or two and im making a beanie for my husbands boss and i was wondering do you have any suggestions on how to make this with this yarn? i know i wont have the same amount of rows and count because its so small but by chance have you ever made a beanie with a yarn like this. i definently wanted to ask you because you are a professional your beanie looks so perfect in this video and i need his bosses to be perfect she helps him so much and shes so very nice and helpful and patient and we both wanted to show her that he appreciates her so i really want her to be blown away so to speak. if you can reply back with any helpful tips or advice on this i would really appreciate it thankyou.

      Hi! Thanks for watching. That's so sweet of you to make that for her. I have made this before with a size 4 ply yarn and held two strands together and it worked up just the same as the pattern in the video. So I think with a dk weight you hold three strands together and it should be very similar. For the band, you want to fo between 19" and 21" for an average adult head. So that measurement may help you as you're making it too. Then just measure on your head as you go, if needed. But I would suggest three strands of the dk yarn and see how that works 🥰

    • @creationsmisfit
      @creationsmisfit  3 роки тому

      Thank you! You could measure the chains around their head if the child is near you. Otherwise I'd say maybe between 30-35 depending on the age? I've made these for kids before, but I can't remember how many I started with. I made one into a hat for my 10 year old nephew and it seems like I did around 38-40 for him. • @creationsmisfit
      @creationsmisfit  3 місяці тому

      @samarneill6776 hi! I know you've done a lot already, but I would suggest using two strands of the size 4 yarn together. That would equal about the same size as the super bulky yarn that I used here. I do this often. But if you'd like to keep going with what you have, I would maybe do rows until almost the top of your forehead. You will have to do a few more decrease rounds than I did as well since you have more than double the amount of stitches. Maybe repeat rows 7 and 8 two or three times after you repeat row 6 to your size. I hope this is helpful! 💗
