In today's tutorial we'll be making the Easy Breezy CHUNKY Bun Beanie! This version uses a bulky weight yarn to create a thicker & warmer bun beanie! It’s perfect for winter weather when you want to wear your hair up but still keep your head warm!
There are instructions for 4 sizes: (head circumference) Child 3-10 (19"-20") Teen/Adult Small (21") Adult Medium (22") Adult Large (23")

Thank you for this great pattern/tutorial! What brand crochet hooks do you use?
Arabella Allen you’re welcome! I actually don’t know the brand name of the hooks I use! I bought them as a set years ago for cheap from amazon. If you’re looking for a recommendation, I would suggest Clover hooks. I have a few and will be slowly collecting them all because they’re really great!
Can I use any 5ply yarn for this pattern
Can I use a super bulky 6 yarn with this pattern?
You definitely can! You may just need to go down a hook size or two to get the sizing right OR work less stitches and rows.

@@robertalynch3725 you can use 5 ply but you will need to adjust the pattern to get the right size since 5 ply is smaller than the recommended yarn size. You’ll have to make your foundation chain longer and work more rows

I’m less concerned about the hair tie being seen and more concerned about the beanie falling apart or unraveling if the hair tie breaks…..
The beanie shouldn't unravel if the hair tie breaks, it more likely that the stitches around that area would just have lose stitches. I would choose good quality hair ties so ensure they won't break. I have never had an issue with the hair ties breaking through
