Mass Effect 2 - Thane: Sins of the Father - Interrogating Kelham - All variations

- During Thane's loyalty mission you will have Thane looking for his estranged son, Kolyat. The duct rat Mouse will point you to Elias Kelham. You can then ask Bailey to bring him in for interrogation.
There are several ways to go about getting the information you need from Kelham - you can either beat the truth out of him or persuade him to give up the information without using violence.
Depending on whether you chose a role for Thane as Good/Bad Cop or decided to proceed without a plan, you will have a different amount of time to talk to Elias before his advocate arrives. If the advocate shows up late, Shepard will have the opportunity to betray Mouse to Kelham. If he arrives in time, you will have different options based on whether you have accepted the Spectre status reinstatement or not and the fate of the Council in ME1.
This video includes all available scenes before and during Kelham's interrogation.

2:00 Shortest interrogation in history
2:55 Successful interrogation before Elias' advocate arrives
6:19 Elias' advocate showing up late
9:11 Elias' advocate showing up in time (Paragon version)
11:08 Elias' advocate showing up in time (Renegade version) - Ігри
Damn, that variety. I guess this is why BioWare was praised with their games. Especially that part with Spectre reinstatement and the fate of the Council. I also adore how Jennifer Hale voiced her line with the Council Shepard helped to install.
I was amazed when I tried this out for myself. So many different pieces of dialogue that go unheard by so many. It really adds a whole new level of depth to Thane's unique loyalty mission
It just occurred to me... a perfect renegade interrupt when the advocate comes in would be Shepard shoots the lawyer to frighten Elias into spilling his guts lol
Nah, Shepard would slam his lawyer head-first into the floor. If you have biotics, Shepard destroys the floor with a biotic attack. Tech specialist, Shepard fries the lawyer’s body.
Dealing with Kelham's ego is a pain in the ass... but dropping the spectre card on his lawyer was pure bliss
My favorite is when you tell the advocate your a specter and he’s like “Oh Shit! You can get away with anything”.
‘You don’t impress me’ I love that so much
I absolutely love the Renegade option here - pretty much "objectively" the best (as far as efficient and keeping everyone happy goes). Keep up the good work
Also suggest you do a collage of all the times you get to hit Elias - the number of times I had to sit through the not-taken renegade prompts and hear him mouth off was rough xD
Haha, having gone over all those moments multiple times while editing, I know the feeling!
Thank you for watching!
@@EmilyOnGames keep up the awesome work, your vids always brighten my day! 🥳
Damn, that's a lot of variations I've missed.
Some hidden gems of Shepard's sass and all the more reasons to make a punching bag out of the guy.
This is incredible! Amazing work! I've been playing Mass Effect since 2018 and I never even considered the alternatives because I always go for the "I'll cut your balls off and sell them to a krogan." line. I wasn't expecting the last seen where the lawyer walks in and you tell both Kelham and his legal advocate that you're a Spectre and they can't do shit.
Ho ly. Impressive dilligence. You're also to my knowledge the first person ever to show the dialogue option of ratting out Mouse, well done
Speaking of, does ratting him out have any consequence and/or comment from Thane? I'd imagine he would be pretty unhappy with that decision
Appreciate the kind words!
I was also hoping for some kind of reaction from Thane about betraying Mouse since seemed to care about the kid, but it's never brought up again.
The moment I wish I had just enough renegade points for the speech check.
You know, passing the interrogation is pretty easy, but two things: one, I was disappointed that I didn't have a paragon interrupt at the start and couldn't pass the one where I reveal I'm a spectre and two, I love the "you failed to get the information, but you reveal you're a spectre" checks.
I’ve been waiting so many years for a video like this
Finally! Ive spend at least an hour trying all the different variants and reloading. Now i have a channel that allready did this for me! Thank you!
Glad to be of help, this one was one of the more complicated interactions of the trilogy!
@@EmilyOnGames I think the best way to do this mission is to maximize all the dialogues. So the way i did it this playthrough, where i didnt have council spectre status - is we are both bad cops,, beat him 2 times, and then say that theres a 3rd bad cop waiting outside. He confesses, and then i leave without ratting out Mouse. That way we get both beat scumbag, fool him into confessing, and get out just in time so he can be angry at his lawyer, trolling on the way out. But now seeing there is a Spectre option, i think the best way is 2 bad cops, beat him 2 times, fail the last checks so his advocate comes in and threatens us, and then we pull out Renegade spectre card. That way we not only beat, but humiliate him. He was staling through all this, for his biggest hope - the Advocate, just so he can run away from the room with a tail between his legs.
@@EmilyOnGames Also can you do male and female versions in one video next time please?
Damn, now i hear voices from biggings from la noire
Amazing! I waited this for years
Insightful video! Thanks!
Keep it up tough guy, you leave in a bag 😅
wow this is such a detailed scene. so many different paths and options. I've never seen most of these before despite playing this mission several times. Also gd, Kelham is so racist calling Thane froggy. lmao😂 out of pocket
I like that go back to your lillie pad 😅
I think there's one missing, unless it's one of the paragon ones that was cut short in the video. Basically, the lawyer walks in before you could get the info out of Elias, but then you tell the lawyer that you're a Spectre. Elias asks what that means, to which the lawyer says that Spectres can do whatever they want and he can't help. And so Elias gives up the info.
what do you mean? that's literally one of the last options shown
I tell thane too stay out of it . I will never hit a human for thane
