I've always wanted to know the history of this engine as the only thing to go by with this was the hornby model which I use to think was just a freelance design. I remember when you first started modelling the engine in 3D and it's quality has shot up big time. You've definitely done your research and I learnt a lot from this. Very well done. 👍
What a cute and obscure engine. Well, obscure in terms of its history. I would imagine that most of us with a D-class from Hornby would assume it was just a fictional industrial locomotive.
That's a really nice tribute to your nan.. I hope she would be proud. Well done my friend. You have most definitely come a long way and the information in this video is rather interesting. Honestly I knew nothing of this loco design. Also. Drove through Pant last week 🤣 didn't realize Brecon mountain railway was right there lol
I remember you mentioning on Twitter that you actually planned this class to be released as payware. But seeing No. 40 and No.42 being released for free (and to comemorize the nan) is actually quite touching! Though I'm kinda curious if you plan on modelling Pant in its rebuilt form? I'm kinda interested to see more of it!
I will say that the GK&N D class engines are one of my favourite 0-4-0 tanks, and the 0-6-0 variant (which I'll call the DX class) is also really interesting Sorry about your nan, though... :(
It stands for Hundred-weight. An old American/English imperial unit of weight measurement. I don’t know really much else I just did a quick search on the internet😶

That weird Pocket Rocket had a basis?!
You learn something every day I guess!
If it is, then I would love to see any pages discussing its history, because I would certainly very much appreciate that

It always slips my mind too! 😂
Ya made a real good video, Johnno! Keep up the great work, and welcome back to video making.
Where did you get the truck with the covering at 7:43? It looks interesting.

@ 4:00 - Rest in 'piece' ..... ??? Did he end up the same way as William Huskisson?
That engine was real? I totally thought it was a freelance design in model railroading.
Obvious question here - what was Doulais build #41?

I didn'y know these where Real Engines. I thought They are Generic 0-4-0Ts Hornby uses for most of their Starter sets.
