Am in Japan. Up all night. Listening. Saw them years ago, purely by accident. they were playing a local festival. Last band on. Was going to leave, as they were dressed up in what looked like maid outfits. Drummer looked familiar, resembled an acquaintance I had recently made - remained and happily so. As a fine a band as I've ever seen.

Samus I remember watching Trill and Choose Me years ago. Didn't really care for them until I started to actually listen to them last October. My cousin told me about their September show in L.A. I still remember who they were, but my interest then and now is totally different.

@@mx5hong They're hands down better than Def Leppard. I can't think of a band which Band Maid reminds me of; they have their own style. The dual vocals are not common in metal. Misa plays an awesome 5-string bass guitar, Akane is as good a drummer as I've heard in years and Kanami shreds like a rock goddess. That's part of the reason I like them so much; they seem fresh to me... and of course are sexy as hell.
@@mx5hong They remind me of some bands for sure ... but the best bands AND at the top of their games. Band-Maid does it on nearly every new song since three years and that's amazing. Then you have the five very strong and different individuals, as in the most creative bands - every member is essential, none can be replaced. This band is usually identified as part of the "japanese female hard/metal scene" but I can't agree: they are way more than that, too different to be compared, musically and regarding their personalities.
How about best rock band period? Band Maid has literally the best rock bassist, guitarist, and drummer on the planet right now - IN THE SAME BAND! All they do is make phenomenal music and play it at virtuoso levels - I love these girls to pieces

There's been a HUGE oldschool rock and metal revival going on for several years now, across the globe. I'm not saying this to knock on Band-Maid or other Japanese bands, but to let you know that there is a vast amount of great new bands playing oldschool music, from all over the world. Just to give you some examples, check out: - Jess and the Ancient Ones - Pristine - Hypnos - Tanith - Blues Pills - The Night Flight Orchestra - Slow Season - Audrey Horne - Gygax ....and I could go on and on and on and on, but that should get you started.

If you are looking for decent Band to listen to.Nothing beats Band -Maid.There is a beautiful blend of Hard Rock and Rock.Sometimes hitting into modern heavy metal.
By some miracle (which I usually don't believe in), each Band-Maid song is better than the last one I heard. And it doesn't even matter what order I hear them in, or even if it's the same song I heard last time.
Happens to me as well. People ask which is your favorite Band-Maid song, I reply: the one I'm playing at the moment, and the next one will be better still 🙂

I have been listening to them for some years now, and they are still on top along with Lovebites. This song is fantastic, but i am not surprised, I have never heard a bad one from them, and they are all so different.
I'm glad these terrific musicians are women. Not just because beautiful women are great, but because if they were guys I'd have to low-key hate on them for being so attractive, talented, and successful at making fantastic rock music.

Like all of them, MISA works tremendously hard to improve her craft, and is creative with her bass, unlike many who just deadhead thunk. And the others make space for her to share what she can do. When she does one of her particularly amazing passages, Kanami is leaving room, Miku carries the rhythm and Akane drums differently to give MISA room to stretch. Because they know how good she is and that many fans listen especially to her and they totally support each other.
@@gradyshmalady8284 That's because most metal bassists from the 1980s onward only seem to be able play 16th notes on the root chord, unlike inventive musicians like John Paul Jones, Andy Fraser & Geezer. It's nice to hear someone who can actually play like Misa.
Like pretty much every Band-Maid song, "Bubble" gets better and better with every listening. And Akane sending that champagne flying also gets better with every viewing.
Some fans are on their 100th listen of each song and still finding new little things they missed before. (Exaggeration on the number of listens but the discovery part is for real).
The more I listen to this song, the more I appreciate the genius. How the music is composed, how it's arranged, how timings are played with, how the interplay between the instruments and the vocals interweave and blend but each stand out as well. While listening again and again, you find something and think like "oh, I didn't hear that last time, wow that's just a genius, playing that note at that moment". How could they even create such song. Well, actually, this, in my opinion, probably can be said with most any and all of their songs haha.
"Glory" and "Bubble" made their debut on the Japanese charts in 6th and 8th place respectively. I think for the first time Band Maid has two songs in the top ten. And in a few days, when Japanese TV will start showing the series "Perfect Crime", which the "Bubble" is the soundtrack of, the position of this song may be even strengthened.
I'm sure Bubble will help increase the exposure of Band-Maid among young female adults who are going to be the main viewers of this ten-installments TV drama series "Perfect Crime" which is being dramatized based on the novel and digital comic series downloaded 7 million copies so far; Kanami and Saiki (possibly Akane too comic ver.) admit they had read this novel even before the collaboration was offer to them. @@showgee your comment on younger female fans made me remember a concert review someone did a while ago. He said that from what he could see in the venue, the male fans were on average 30s-40s while the female fans were mostly younger in their 20s. They're definitely good role models young women.

However, as far as I can gather, this drama is based on Harlequin-type novel & comic with twisted love and love triangles. If that's the case Saiki's characteristic is much opted for this type of drama than Miku's happy-go-lucky Kawaii one. Btw, shooting of the drama has been finished by mid-Dec. Yet, it would be fun to imagine as a fan there might be some reference to Band-Maid or appearance of them in the drama. Don't you think so?

この曲について歌波はファンの為に作ったというよりかは自分の気持ちに素直に、あまり考えずに作った､､ハッキリした内容は覚えていないがそんな感じの内容だった気がする。しかし正直言ってワタシとしてはこのBabble(だけではないが)が大層気に入っている。歌波はあまり周りの事など考え過ぎずに自分の素直な感覚で作った方が良い気もしたりする(彩ちゃんや他のメンバーからの意見もあるだろうから調整も難しいのだろう)それにしてもブルージーでちょっと気だるくてややヒステリック気味なサビもあったりで曲全体の色と味がとても“らしく”てとっても秀逸な曲だと思う。ワタシは歌波の“我“を通した曲をもっと聴いてみたい。

BAND-MAIDを知ったのはこの曲のリリース以降だが、この曲を含め、初めて聴いて驚かされたのがAKANEさんのドラム。手数、足数が多いだけでなく、リズムが変幻自在、そして、手首のスナップの使い方が上手く、パワフルな上、絶妙のタイム感でグルーブを醸しだしている。すぐに、ジョン・ボーナムっぽさを感じたが、以前のイベントでジミー・ペイジに絶賛されたときのツーショット写真を見て、自分の感覚が間違っていなかったと確信した。
そう、ジョンボーナムっぽさを感じたのは私もです。「リズムが変幻自在、そして・・・」茜さんについて言いたかったことをすべて言ってくれてありがとうございます。
ワタシはドラムに関しては全くの素人ですが茜のドラムに気持ちが引っ張られた事が何度もあります。皆さん仰ってる通り非常にパワフルですし(見てるとやはりスナップなんでしょうか)そして何よりオカズというかフィルと言うべきか分かりませんが曲に合った感情表現がとても得意なプレイヤーというのが率直な意見です。聴いていてとにかく「しっくり」来るんです、茜のドラムは。あと外せないのがプレイ中の茜の動きと表情。上手く言えないのですがひたすらじーっと見入ってしまうんです(特に笑ってない時です)拙い文章で長文申し訳ないです。

i usually just listen to the music while working , that bassist always manages to catch my attention in every song , its amazing !
Her name is MISA.
MISA ! MISA ! MISA !
Like all of them, MISA works tremendously hard to improve her craft, and is creative with her bass, unlike many who just deadhead thunk. And the others make space for her to share what she can do. When she does one of her particularly amazing passages, Kanami is leaving room, Miku carries the rhythm and Akane drums differently to give MISA room to stretch. Because they know how good she is and that many fans listen especially to her and they totally support each other.
That's what sets this band above the rest for me. The bass is rarely featured, or of this caliber, in Hard Rock/Metal.
@@gradyshmalady8284 That's because most metal bassists from the 1980s onward only seem to be able play 16th notes on the root chord, unlike inventive musicians like John Paul Jones, Andy Fraser & Geezer. It's nice to hear someone who can actually play like Misa.
Akane's drumming is sublime - supernaturally talented, and so much joy! Truly a Goddess!!

Like pretty much every Band-Maid song, "Bubble" gets better and better with every listening. And Akane sending that champagne flying also gets better with every viewing.

Sooo more-ish! Why is it that all their songs have this irresistible aftertaste??? The more you listen the better it gets.
Some fans are on their 100th listen of each song and still finding new little things they missed before. (Exaggeration on the number of listens but the discovery part is for real).
I get what you mean. Bandmaid never really interested me but the more I listened, the more I loved their music.

The more I listen to this song, the more I appreciate the genius. How the music is composed, how it's arranged, how timings are played with, how the interplay between the instruments and the vocals interweave and blend but each stand out as well. While listening again and again, you find something and think like "oh, I didn't hear that last time, wow that's just a genius, playing that note at that moment". How could they even create such song. Well, actually, this, in my opinion, probably can be said with most any and all of their songs haha.

That Double Bass Foot work is so great by Akane. Love her greatest female drummer on earth.
"Glory" and "Bubble" made their debut on the Japanese charts in 6th and 8th place respectively. I think for the first time Band Maid has two songs in the top ten. And in a few days, when Japanese TV will start showing the series "Perfect Crime", which the "Bubble" is the soundtrack of, the position of this song may be even strengthened.
I'm sure Bubble will help increase the exposure of Band-Maid among young female adults who are going to be the main viewers of this ten-installments TV drama series "Perfect Crime" which is being dramatized based on the novel and digital comic series downloaded 7 million copies so far; Kanami and Saiki (possibly Akane too comic ver.) admit they had read this novel even before the collaboration was offer to them.
It would be great if Saiki could appear in the drama 'cause she has some experience as a stage actress before joining Band-Maid.

@@showgee Maybe you're right, but in my opinion a better actress with a larger stage experience is Miku :) I suspect that she is able to play a lot more than the giggling embodiment of a pigeon.
@@showgee your comment on younger female fans made me remember a concert review someone did a while ago. He said that from what he could see in the venue, the male fans were on average 30s-40s while the female fans were mostly younger in their 20s. They're definitely good role models young women.
@@viaverde3153 Yes, I fully aware of Miku's multi-talents and knew she could be a good actress too. However, as far as I can gather, this drama is based on Harlequin-type novel & comic with twisted love and love triangles. If that's the case Saiki's characteristic is much opted for this type of drama than Miku's happy-go-lucky Kawaii one.
Btw, shooting of the drama has been finished by mid-Dec. Yet, it would be fun to imagine as a fan there might be some reference to Band-Maid or appearance of them in the drama. Don't you think so?
