I love how this turned out. I'm a grom guy and I never gave the ruckus a chance really until this build series. I'd love to build one
I'd love to see one with a even bigger engine... makes me think what you could put on one..
I think you can do like a 210 cc or something but I don't really know
I believe 232cc is the absolute max, and that's bored and stroked. You'll need water and oil cooling at that point for sure... It costs more than a used 300cc sportsbike too.
I know that 700cc raptors and 450 yzfs are really fun. It'd be nearly impossible to pull off though, chain driven and need a place for a radiator. That would be epic though no doubt.
Not reasonable in a Ruckus, but on a Superhornet...
People complain that you "spent all that money on the 171cc kit", but I'm more surprised you didn't go for the 232cc and balls to the wall!
+Mainfold from wanted easy, low maintenance, push button start Ruckus. This is my jump on and go bike :)
Those that think it was a waist of time for "15" mph forget the different looks and that the acceleration would increase too, it's hard to tell on video but with 171cc and those little wheels that thing must fly up to it's top speed.
If the thing had regular sized motorcycle wheels (like wheels off of something like the R3 etc), it'd for sure do at least 110+, as the thing seems to run out of engine before anything else. Not power, just won't do more RPM but there's other factors restricting it. Obviously if he had done a gear-mod for it (like some do on the Ruckus') it'd for sure go a ton faster, but that's A LOT of work and I don't think the ruck shop etc carry those kits.
Would be dope though, but at that point you might as well just buy an engine and gear setup straight off of a gear-scooter ¯\(ツ)/¯
232cc requires boring out the case (and changing the crank I think). The cylinder he used is the biggest bolt in, no machining required. Much easier for diy. Who knows, he might take that on later, especially if he ports the head like the pro builder suggested. It's a sickness once you start. :)
Ed, that is incorrect. You need a B-Block style GY6 case, 67mm piston, extended chain and chain guides, and +8 stroker crank. Only Taida makes those components but quite a few dealers sell the parts to build one or even a full complete engine.
Boring out the case on a standard A-Block GY6 is pointless for a 67mm piston, there's no case material left to safely seat the piston. The B-Block case already comes pre-bored (with extra metal material) to accomodate the 67mm piston.
The seat is fine!
alflurin No it's not
epic time breaker Each to their own, I think it looks perfect with what Brent was going for.
Yep! That's the thing! For the look he was aiming for, it's perfect! Black would be boring.
I'm just afraid what rain would do to the seat.
You can spray it with a water resistant coating, much like with shoes, it's not really an issue.
That seat is perfect, it wouldnt look retro without that seat. It was an awesome choice :)
Bought a keytag from you, received it today and honestly man, finding a signature signed by you was soo damn cool. Not many UA-camrs if any do that but you sir made my day today!
You replied to one of my comments asking about the bike and now a simple little signature inside my order.
Thank you for the keytag and the awesome content!
nice build bro, I did the 171cc on my chuckus and the a12 cam is definitely a must! I can hit 68 pretty easy, but can't wait to upgrade CVT variator & clutch. with that done I'll probably be able to hit 72, but I just want to easily cruise at 65 at 3/4 instead of WOT all the time.
I can do 60 with my kymco super 9 with 80cc big bore kit and nothing else.
Why in the world is your 172cc bike so slow?
@@tybeeislandgoat1402 it's really fast off the line and up to max for me would be around 72mph. If I wasn't fat, 230ish lbs, I'd probably be able to do better 🤣🤣🤣
@@tybeeislandgoat1402 yeah my tao tao 50cc with the 100cc big bore kit, a9 cam, 20mm carb and 8 gram rollers is doing 59-60mph on flat. That’s weird that his is only doing 61-62?
in my opinion every single penny is worth of that "18mph increase "
indeed, and the acceleration. I think it's worth it as well!
Lol that cop fooled you af😂
I still have no idea why he ignored me and pulled over the car in front of me. Didn't see them do anything wrong.
Motonosity omg! Man, I love your videos. Keep up the build series, I love them!
Motonosity He problably watches your channel and wants to see the top speed video so he decided to let you go maybe lol.
He probably had run the other guys plate and something came up so he had tunnel vision/ target fixation Plus I don't think the police see many crime sprees on Rucus's so he/ she just blew by you thinking "what a cute little scooter"
get brown grips like dan on the harley. good match with the seat!
I love what you've done to the ruckus but honestly I think the noise of not shifting is very annoying
BubbaRoo 2 ikr same
BubbaRoo 2 I agree about the noise it just sounds sooooo weird
When you do the rollers, I was told to give slack in the belt before torquing the driveface, or what I call "variator fan" nut, basically so it doesn't tighten up against the belt and goes fully into place. You can do it by squeezing the clutch pulley apart with your hands and it pushes the belt right up and should stay there. Then just rotate the belt a little by hand to put it back mostly in place, and starting the engine will reset it back rest of the way. I didn't know this for a month or 2 and it was giving me weird/unpredictable results when tuning my rollers.
LOL my 50cc 2 stroke goes 60 MP/h
Exactly. Cuz it's a 2 stroke lol
grondal michał 2 stroke being the key you moron lmao. Probably a piece of shit that you have to rebuild every 200 miles.
It'll hold its value at a lot of mulla, be extremely reliable and wont sound like utter shit. But hey, each to their own.
Also whoever commented 2 strokes dont need rebuilds. Yes they do, every few hundred or so miles they need a new top end (piston and rings fitted).
grondal michał bet my lawnmower sounds better
oh baby i want one of those, i already wanted one but seeing the difference the kit made solidified my decision
just finished up my gy6 swap and I totally agree.. huge difference when a car is behind you doing 40 and your trucking to 40. good shot dude
Nice fun build man, what I like about this as well, when it comes to speed claims at least he got a gps to demonstrate how fast hes really going, no BS, I like that
I'm not a ruckus fan but I think you nailed it !!! the seat works perfect with your theme
"Sir where is your licence plate"
"Oh, I left it at home for weight reduction"
I think you nailed the seat. It matches what you were going for. It's got a cafe feel to it and goes really well with the paint job. I plan on going a similar route for my cafe build.
To be honet, the seat is the thing that really make your ruckus stand out and unique. Keep up the good work Brent!
+Kevin Nguyen Thanks Kevin!
I want a C2W First Ride on the Ruckus
Dude me too!
LMAO what are the odds that the cops would pull over that guy in front of you right after you were talking about getting the plate? That's golden!
It's ALWAYS more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.
I love everything about your ruckus you did an absolutely amazing job with both of the builds you've done I'm addicted to your build series.😂😂
This build series has been spectacular! Job well done Motonosity. All those people who hate the seat, you are entitled to your opinion, but you are wrong!
It's been very entertaining to watch this beastie evolve. Thanks for all your effort.
Loved your close shave with jail! Having heart in the mouth moments like that makes you feel alive, and since you ain't going to get that thrill through raw speed, leave the plate off!!
The cop made the entire video!!!! That was wicked nerve racking!!
personally, I love the seat
omg when he pulled over the guy ahead of you! And btw, I love the styling, ignore the haters bro. Gotta get them weights in though.
Love the seat and the color! Total retro cafe style.
It is worth spending that money for an 18 MPG gain. You get more acceleration and torque too! Worth it!
forget about people saying about the 18 mph difference, the finished product looks 100x better than the stock bike.. bikes nice bud keep it up
Awesome bike! Nice outcome!! Are we going to have a ruckus cinematic video!? By the way, your baby is growing so fast, I hope everything turns out perfect 👍👊
dude I am hella jealous of how this turned out! It looks badass. I cant wait to get the money to build mine like this.
Yeah we took the weights out on a moped before me and my friend only left 3 weights and straight piped it and the carb and everything else was stock and it went fast asf
I like the seat. Looks great. And 18 mph is a huge difference. Don't listen to trolls.
Brent, you are going to run out of room for all these bikes! Can't wait for your next build series. The daily uploads are great. #lifelived
white wall tires would look pretty sweet 😲
I do love the seat and definitely get the retro look you went for. I think you nailed it.
At first i wasnt sure about the seat but now i like it
Screw other people's thoughts it's your bike make it how you want. It looks dope keep up the good work great channel
That's cool, you hit 62 and it wasn't even topped out, I don't think. A longer run you might have hit 65. I'm glad I watched the whole build series. I didn't know there was a big bore and carb upgrade.
since you started daily vlogs you've won my choice of the first video I watch each day. took it away from Braille Skateboarding.
Loving the vids, this seems like a real fun little project, a real breath of fresh air to some of the other serious things I've been watching!
I love the seat. I just hope a rouge rain shower doesn't ruin it. I would suggest a scotch guard (or other waterproofing product) that is safe for suede.
I love the Ruckus , the seat looks great on it btw. For the next build i vote a Vespa of some sorts ;p GTS 300 ?
The project has really turned out awesome so far, the power bump seems to make it more street usable.
looks like ur 2nd build series is comin along good
Hey Brent, if you do Q&As please make them at a time where more people can join. I was in a final when you went live, and I really hate missing them. I understand if you can't do them at night.
Also do you think Abby will get a motorcycle license and use the Ruckus as a get around bike? I see that she is really into books and stuff, and I see her going to book stuff on it and quick store runs. Great video dude, keep it up. =)
Motonosity: That Ruckus looks awesome if you ask me and it's built in a style that the seat looks good. Why would you do it differently, when it follows certain esthetic. It looks like the Café racers of old. Only difference could be to make it out of leather.
I'm usually a "silent viewer", i.e. I don't normally comment. But as a massive fan of classic motorbikes, you got the styling for this ruckus spot on, and I just wanted to say congrats :) my favourite part is the seat btw ;:)
it looks dope! don't worry about what other people think! Keep up the awesomeness!
sounds good. the hesitation to return to idle makes me think you either have low speed lean or a vacuum leak.
man the seat is very good , it has personality
That looks like it would be a riot to ride on.
this is great man, you should do an edit of all the best bits about the ruckus build (like an over view/montage) I think if done right would be pretty decent. good work man ;)
Now you know why people still like carbs, the response from them is amazing.
That bike is so fucking clean don't change a thing!!
I'm stoked for you man, I can tell you are super stoked too, haha. While I'm not at all a fan of the Ruckus (in general, yours is a vast improvement on the stock one), I have enjoyed every single video of this series. Now the question is: what's up next?
I've got some things in the works ;)
Looking forward to it!
I would upgrade the headlight bulbs.
Can't wait for them ruckus motovlogs!!!
Oohh dude, i LOVE your "daily vlogs". Plz keep doing it, if you have time!! :)
I would like to see someone go old school and make a ruckus chopper build. Stretched forks, high rise handlebars etc. Everyone is doing the stretched low rider so that's all you see, so something really different to standout from the rest.
I have a old school honda elite 150 Scooter it hit 70mph with the carb needing tuning so..... in the process of restoration lol but gr8 vid man keep em up!
ruckus now look so freaking cool bro
I love this build. I love the color scheme, AND EVEN THE SEAT. haha. Great job man!
Awesome build! That retro/ruckus look Turned out amazing.. inspired my build 🤙🏾
I like how you casually edited running that stop sign I don't blame you I would have done the same thing
The retro seat looks amazing
cant wait for the rollerweights - they make such a difference ! especially excellerating you are going to feel it :)!
I like the bike 👍🏻 seat colour with the silver looks great.
Not surprised it feels comfy when your other bikes are an R1 and a supermoto, the two least comfortable bikes you could buy
+MeechyMoto I also owned an sv650, which was great. I suppose out everything I've ever ridden, the gold wing was the most comfortable, but that doesn't really count haha
Honestly that seat looks great. If you like it that's all that matters. Don't let everyone else's opinion change your own opinion. I also agree with Abby, if it was black it would look weird without any contrast
moto and I secretely live together and i transform into the ruckus when he needs me.
well worth the upgrades in my opinion.
Now for the next part of the build series he needs to swap out the gy6 for the r1 motor
the color choices have definitely grown on me.
talking about getting the license plate and boom💣 a cop right next to u lol best part of the video lol, nice video
if you really wanna do higher speed is to change the gearing ratio on the ruckus. stock is around 12x39 or 13x40. you have to upgrade to maybe 14x41 or something like that to see a good balance of speed and a good amount of oomph on the starts.
I had the use of a 125 cc Honda scooter some years back fully auto it hit 60 fast with a top speed a little over 65, this machine was standard , have to say for a 125 I was really impressed, My 198cc Durkop scooter would do 75 without too much effort and that was a twp stroke built back in the fifties, it was heavy and did not accelerate like the Honda., Have to say I think you still have some restriction going on in that machine, really it aught to be hitting 80 plus.
You were sooo lucky. Great build series.
Your Ruckus looks awesome! Great video.
when your done can you tally up how much the cost for the build? I'm curious.
I'm gonna say it again, but...
You really should do a Yamaha Aerox Build Series!
An 80CC would smoke this Ruckus! :D ( Not trying to shit on the Ruckus, it's awesome! )
Yammy Aerox are really tunable engine AND look wise! :)
Check it out Brent!
Limezy but aprilia rs 50 or a derbi gpr 50 with a good 80cc setup will smoke the aerox
Down town is gonna be a blast!!
Hey nice to meet you , I really like your videos and the music you use ... great stuff . XD I hope you are going downtown as soon as you can plz post a vid about that
Always have the best videos! Great content and a great dude right here!
Thanks a lot dude!
it needs some pimp lights bro sweet build love the seat and the color.
Wish I could throw shade like Sierra does. Hilarious!
omg when that cop passed my butt clenched a lil 😂
Question - whats longer... the Rucus or Brent?
For your next build do a Honda ct70
cant believe its over...what a cool build, the police though iv been there, that heart sinking butterflies thinking why the f did I do this , then he bangs his lights on, id have pooped myself
you should put some paint protection film over the fuel tank just so the paint is protected from abuse from your feet.
Mini bike with a THE ruckus design
Is that LIL' Nosity I see? Congrats on the baby bud.
I think it'd look nice if you put LED bulbs in your headlights. Change that dull yellow light to a nice white light
when do we see some wheelies on the ruckus? that would be incredible
nice work bud. as for the seat, check out a silver zodiac material.
I really have enjoyed your ruckus videos. Keep em coming!
Great to see it on the road mate!
Hell yah i need a seat like that in my jeep tj
