Appreciate the oil change video... you covered the whole gambit... well done! I'm changing the oil and filter for the first time on my 2015 F-150 3.5L without Ecoboost. Knowing the wrench sizes beforehand was helpful. Also, this is the fist vehicle I've had that has engine "splash shields" (they're not called "dust shields") that need to be removed to access the oil pan drain plug. Watching you remove the splash shields was also helpful... saved me time to figure out what needed to be done before hand. For those with the 3.5L without the Ecoboost, the recommended motor oil in the owners manual is (U.S.): 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend... Full Synthetic is optional.
My first change on her and this was helpful to know whats ahead. Thanks! One thing to add... Drain the oil, put the plug back in and then pull the filter. The filter is sideways and will also drain a bit through a drain spot under the filter. You'll want a catch pan under it.
Hey everyone, I own a 2015 F-150 FORD LARIAT and was hoping someone with more experience can shed some light on a few questions. Does this video apply to my truck and what are some things I need to look ahead for ? In hopes of saving some cash and as well as learning a thing or two I hope someone can explain !
Hey Gustavo. Is your truck a 3.5L Ecoboost V6? They are good trucks but you just have to keep an eye on the turbos that will eventually get a leak and the vacuum pumps are known to leak on these trucks too. I changed the gasket on my vacuum pump at about 140k miles. Cheap and easy fix
IKESTERrocks I used a jack to lift the truck on the frame rail. There’s actually an arrow pointing up on the frame to show you where to lift it. Jack one side up and put a jack stand then do the same on the other side
Its called a "splash shield"... I would put it back on... its only 4 bolts to fuss with (for each one). It helps to protect the engine from crap getting up there while driving, keeping it cleaner.
Chris Geeseka it’s holding up awesome. I’m actually going to make a video about it soon since I broke 100,000 miles. I haven’t had any problem whatsoever with this truck. I love it
@@blakelyj4810 thank so much for info. I'm looking at used 3.5 ecoboost that same year as yours. IV been holding back because herd bad stuff about motor and also great stuff about motor.
These are by far the worst trucks. I'm saying that staring at the F150 Platinum 2015 with only 54k miles on it. Dealership just soaked me for a $5500 repair. Can't wait to unload it. Take my advice. Buy GM, GMC, Chevy heck ride the bus. You'll save more. I paid 50K for this pile of junk in 2015 and probably have spent the same amount in repairs.
I hate to hear that you have had such bad luck with your truck. I have had mine since brand new and I have 166,000 miles on it now with no issues. Is yours a 3.5 Ecoboost?
Thanks for sharing the socket sizes. It's nice to roll under a vehicle with exactly what you need the first time.
John Brisbois You’re welcome. I’m happy it helped
Isn’t that the truth
@@blakelyj4810 My thoughts exactly on the socket sizes and just laying out all the necessary tools, thanks for making it easy!!

it's time for a carbon cleaning lol
is'nt echoboost wonderful?
Did u lift one side of the truck at a time or did u pick up both at the same time if so from where did u pick up

@@blakelyj4810 cool that's just wanted to see if maybe u lifted from the front thanks I appreciate the reply
Thanks for the video. You skipped the money shot.
Brent Williford money shot?
Interested in how much it costs myself.
Tankerman Hadley If i remember correctly, it’s about $45 for everything
🤣
Can you just leave that dust shield off?
You can if you want. I prefer to put it back on

Chris Geeseka I can honestly say that this has been the best truck I’ve ever had. I’ve worked it pretty hard and never even a hiccup with it
