Have you ever put a brand new wig on and felt that it was a bit too tight? Has your wig ever felt too small in the beginning? Are you worried that your wig isn't fitting right? In this video, Rochelle will show you 3 very simple ways to make your wig slightly looser. Sometimes, simply wearing the wig for a day or so will take care of it, but if you need it to feel better now, here are 3 easy tricks:
1. Stretch the wig out with your hands
2. Stretch the actual wig sizers out
3. Remove the elastic sizers (try one first)

I have a big head. In both senses of the term 🤣. I’m too small for a large and too big for a regular. I cut both elastic pieces, and it worked perfectly for me. Thanks for the extra suggestions.

These tips are really helpful! I was thinking it's time to give up on wigs as even the large size is too small. I've gotten two toppers, which I love, but sometimes I just want a change that only wigs can provide. I only wish you had more of a selection for us large heads, both in styles and colors. I always love the average only styles, a bummer! Thanks for your tips!

Okay, I feel a little better. After months of looking, I finally earned enough money and I pulled the trigger by ordering two wigs only to find I have an enormous cranium at 23 1/2" at the occipital bone. I had to return the wigs that I wanted as they didn't fit AT ALL; I couldn't even get them on my huge heeeeeeed!!! I thought I was average, so much for that assumption.🙄 Then I went through the possibility of getting top pieces...ugh, not what I wanted, but now I feel fairly confident in ordering Freedom and Rochelle (not my first choices, but still nice) in Large (23") and just stretch them the 1/2". I was so disappointed, I just wanted to do something for me, but this whole ordeal has now become quite a chore - not fun any more.😫 At least I have the reassurance that I'm not the only one with an enormous melon. Thanks Rochelle.😉
Dear Bereangil, I wish it was easy for everyone - sometimes with something new, there is a learning curve as we discover more about the subject. Yay! Monday Morning is here with another great video! I hadn’t seen your stretch first tip. It will probably help a lot of ladies! I have made your average cap wigs larger following Danielle’s video. That gives me lots of choices of colors and styles now for my larger cap size head. Thank you so very much for all you do to help us! I am getting lots of compliments on my hair now and it still takes me back because I haven’t had compliments on my hair for several years now. We even had our family picture taken yesterday.... I’m excited to see if I look younger than our last one five years ago!

I have to cut both sides, then stretch them, to get a perfect fit. I have the biggest head ever, and have never been able to wear anything on my head, including hats. Even men’s hats just pop off my head, like a bad cartoon. 🤣. But I love your gorgeous wigs, so I make them work. 💕

Should my Freedoms seem small with a wig grip if I have a 21 3/4 to 22" head? Watched Danielles fix and may have to cut. Until this year I have worn them w/o a grip. Thx so much for all your videos, I think I have watched all. I learned so much from you, info that still stands true after wearing many name brands. I set out to be wig educated and most came from you. Think I am a B plus student.
Hi Linda, Rochelle here! My first question is - if the wig feels tight with the WG band, do you really need to wear a wig grip band? If something has changed so that you need more security, might just 2 wig clips or a bobby pin on each side at your temples help out? Your size is average based on your measurements. Hi Jennifer, Rochelle here! I love the little extra height of a teased piece or wig, so I rarely wear a monofilament top because it lays flatter and and not meant for punky or teasing! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. ps - this style isn't a mono.

I made the 2-1/2 hour drive to visit the Woodland Hills store. I have a large head and wanted to try on some large cap wigs. I wanted a light grey wig. Tiffany was so helpful and brought out the average size Trixie in silver stone, and she said it came in a large size. I loved the style and color; however, silver stone is not offered in the large Trixie. I was ready to order it and was bummed! Will you be adding this color in large Trixie? You mentioned in my other comment that Tiffany will be coming out in a large cap in a few months. Will this be offered in silver stone? Loved visiting the store, and like I mentioned, Tiffany is an asset to your business! She was very helpful!

Well my Taylor arrived and much to my dismay it was too small..way too small. I followed your tips, I stretched, I cut...still just wouldn't sit with a sense of security, felt like it was going to pop off. I love this wig, I wasn't giving up. I added hair snaps to the front and sides and viola!! It works for my big noggin. Love it

@@AmoPerrosMás Hi Susan, Rochelle here! I think FarmGirl meant our Metal Clips. You can sew them into any wig and they have a gentle rubber gripper and snap to your hair to keep the wig secure on your head. Here's a link to Metal Wig Clips:

@@GodivasSecretWigs Oh thank you! So like combs but better. I've sewn combs into one of my wigs so now I'll order clips, take out the combs and sew these in! My head is huge (who knew?) so it's been quite a challenge.
I think i must also have a big head. After receiving my new wig and trying it on, I found that it just kept rolling up from the back of my neck and kept popping off. i worked with the wig fitting video for two days being very careful not to damage or stretch anything on the wig. I moved the side stretchy bits to their widest position on both sides, however I chose not to cut them as I was beginning to suspect i might have to return the wig. As I tried to put it on again it still kept rolling back up from the nape of my neck even though i had a small pony tail "knob" on which to anchor it. I was so disappointed about that because the wig was gorgeous.
Hi Crystal, Rochelle here and I've read everything you wrote. Some people have a different curve to the back, lower part of their head and if the rest of the wig fits, the easy solution is to sew 2 clips at the top and 2 clips at the bottom of the wig. Consider this, sorry I forget to mention on the video. Hope this does the trick. If you don't have clips yet, try putting a bobby pin at the bottom of each side and see how that works. xo

I love the Alana wig. Would the elastic cutting trick adjust it for a 23 inch circumference head?
Yes, it should, but I cannot guarantee it will be perfect for you and your shape head. Cutting both sides gives lots more room - maybe try on an older wig first and see if it works for you... Hope this helps! Ro

I have been wearing Godiva's Secret Wigs for a couple of years now and love them! I have 23" circumference but the large size wigs have too much hair for me and the average size wigs are too tight, so I purchase the average size wigs and insert elastic pieces to enlarge. But I find that if I don't put wig tape on my wig grip band and then stick it to the back of my neck, my wig grip band and wig keep slipping up the back of my head while wearing. But the wig tape applied in this way also bothers me because it somewhat restricts my head/neck movement. I can't seem to get it to feel comfortable AND so it stays in place all day. Any ideas? Thank you ☺💜
Dear Cian, thanks for writing in! My best tip would be to sew 2 of our wig clips on the bottom back of the wig - one on each side of the label. Sew the "teeth" part of the wig clips to go upward (at least that's how I do them). This should do the trick! And here's another video of ours that might help:

Kathy, you're so sweet! I wear Lancome on my skin and a mix of Walgreen and Walmart! I've spent time on UA-cam learning and practicing shimmers, highlighting and contouring. It's fun to try. I think what you might be liking is the shimmer highlighting I'm now putting between my eyebrows, down my nose and also a little on my cheekbones. I've been putting darker contour below my cheeks and a little under my chin. On our videos, our goal is to use wig the way you'd get them out of the box, unless we are saying specifically what we're doing for a video. Otherwise, never hair spray, trimming, styling, teasing or anything else.. How it would be right out of the box to you! Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Hi Percy, glad you found us! Maybe it's too tight, with our wigs you can loosen the double reinforced elastic straps in the bottom of each side of the wig. Here's a link to see how to measure for a wig:

No, it's not normal. It could also be the way you are preparing your hair - I think your wig may be too tight!

Hello. Can this also be done for my wig that gives me pains and headache at the center of my head when worn? It's a new wig too. Infact, any wig i wear both old and new gives me pain and headache at the center of my head and neck. Any tip or help is appreciated.

how would you stretch it front to back with lace front and lace part? i have a petite wig that is too small front to back
I would stretch and hold all the areas except the lace part.
Or, instead of pulling on the lace, I'd go directly to the back and check out the double reinforced elastic bands on each side. Consider stretching and holding for 30 seconds (or more) each side of the elastic connected to the metal piece (like on a bra strap). If necessary, you can cut one of the sides and that will give you extra room around. Do not cut both at the same time; cut one first and try one to see if that's enough. Hope this helps, Rochelle
I too have oddball measurements. I am small to average except for the circumference - which is 23 inches. If I cut both straps off, how many inches will I gain? Even a ballpark measurement would be helpful. Thanks in advance!!
Hi Anita, first off - just cut one strap off and try it on. Cutting each strap can give an extra inch - give or take - in circumference. Also consider that the strap is what creates a "double reinforcement" on each side which makes it tighter. The wig will still have the elastic on the bottom of each side of the wig. Cut straps, one (try on) by one (try on again). We also carry a selection of large size wigs. Hope this helps. Ro

It is good to know approx. how much room I will gain if I cut off each strap. You are the first person to give me approx. measurements related to these velcro straps. I have watched many of your videos thru my journey. In fact, I think yours were the very first ones I watched! I have also watched your videos specific to large cap styles. Very helpful also. I've solved the problem of having an itchy head, under my wig! I leave my fringe ( bangs ) out and fit Nina on top! As my own hair is steely gray, and white at the front, it blends well, and the itch has gone!..................old Tich.
