Holy sh*t, that is the most beautiful I’ve ever heard him sound... and he always sounded perfect. It’s like he was an angel who fell to earth, and we could only have him for a short period of time.
The beginning part was his natural singing voice, which he rarely used because he didn't think it fit well for rock music. It's a shame, because even though he always sounds incredible, I just adore the sound of his natural voice. If you haven't already, check out his duets with Montserrat Caballe, he uses his natural singing voice a lot in those tracks and they're incredibly beautiful tracks.
There is no other band in the past, present, or likely future that can take a heavily produced heavily vocalized multilayered dubbed song like this, and actually make it better in concert with just a 4 piece band. This is spectacular. Freddie's rhythm, stage presence, and vocals are unmatched. I'm so lucky I got to see basically this same version in 1982 when I got to see them.
OMG! I would have died to see them! How lucky you are. Ive heard different versions of this song and this is the absolute best. How lucky we were to have been able to enjoy this gift. His voice, his presence, the incredibleness of the group! Freddie lives on in all their songs, and always will🙏🏻
That was the great thing about Queen... Freddie was possibly the greatest vocalist of all time, but all 4 of them were extremely talented musicians and songwriters
This is what the internet was truely made for. Capturing a bands performance for to see available for an eternity. Long after the remaining members are 6 feet under we will have these beautiful memories and the world will always be a better brighter happier place for it.
@lonniecombs7431 Perry did have an almost operatic voice as well. Great expressive powerful voice like Freddie. Don't laugh. But have you listened to puddles pity party? He's another one just like Freddie and Steve. Incredible singer.

Definitely ... it's suspenseful and creates a kind of tension that the song ultimately relieves! Interesting when you think of the lyrics, "I just can't get no relief" ... it's brilliant the way he could communicate something through music that can be difficult to express in words. For me the music triggers those burried feelings and the lyrics make them explode to the surface.

Roger lost his falsetto in 80- he sounded beautiful ❤️

No question.
No question on that.
Fred was on a level of his own.
The way he closes the song. Wow. The things he does on stage.
Freddie could have been one of the great operatic tenors if he had chosen opera. No other rocker ever came close to his vocal prowess. No one.
He did make an opera album :)
He made Barcelona as an Opera inspired song but I don’t think it was considered a Queen song.
'The Voice' Steve Perry was close, but I agree
