Frenchman here. 21 years with my Polish girl-friend. I wish I was reading and writing more consistently. Reading and writing are the true back bones of mastery of a foreign language. Read and write out loud as often as you can.

My reaction to this as a retired language professional is (a) this is a congress of polyglots, not necessarily your average language learner (!) and (b) at least three of the interviewees were speakers of other Slavic languages. Coming at Polish from English or German is quite a different proposition. I am a huge fan of Easy Polish - which I discovered through Easy German - it's a great format and really helpful from A2-level up, especially with the extra materials they are providing for paid subscribers. However, if you are trying to learn Polish without the aid of lovers/friends/Slavic mother tongue/genius language ability, then there is no substitute for tuition from a qualified teacher that is at the right level for you. There are many courses available, online or in person. Polish grammar is complicated and a critical mass needs to be mastered before fully formed sentences will come out of your mouth. Do not be discouraged if you are a relative beginner and don't understand these videos, even with the subtitles. I didn't until I had been to Poland on a two-week language course, where I finally made some progress and was exposed to the language. Understand that learning a language is difficult - it takes a long time and some hard work. I was in an A2 class with people who had lived in Poland for years and with people who had Polish grandparents, yet they hadn't anywhere near mastered the grammar. Don't be discouraged, but don't think that you can easily jump to the level of Polish in these videos. Even the Super Easy Polish are not that easy, in my opinion. But it's a beautiful language and a fascinating country with wonderful people. So keep learning and keep watching!

Don't compare yourself to Russian/Ukrainians etc. who are in your group if you do not have slavic language base to begin with (e.g English speaker) . They catch up as easy as it would be for a French person to learn Spanish for example, so you just can't compare your progress to theirs as you have everything to learn from scratch. Also do not lean in to negativity from fellow students who find it too difficult and will vent their frustrations all the time instead of just doing the work. They will only demoralize you and halt your progress. do your own thing , be consistent and pay no attention to whiners.

Po prostu używać danego języka najczęściej jak się da w codziennych sytuacjach, ucząc się go samodzielnie.

Niektórzy z nich to nawet obcego akcentu już nie mają. Wcale bym nie powiedział że to nie jest Polak gdybym go słyszał. Akcent nie jest problemem ważne że sprawnie się komunikują i z wlasnej chęci nauczyli się polskiego tak dobrze.

I am an ukrainian man of Russia (ethnic ukrainian from Russia). I know both ukrainian and russian as native, plus I know german and english, so I understand most of polish without learning language!
