As someone who is starting out on UA-cam and helping a UA-cam community that I am involved in, these last few months I have been looking into your videos more and more and it's been helping my community to better understand what mistakes we are making and what we can achieve.
Thank you once again Senpai!! 🥋

I've been recording a video podcast & creating content for almost 2 years now on Rumble & decided to give live streaming a try & doing that here on UA-cam. I'm so glad you do these videos because I am ALWAYS trying to learn something when it comes to cameras, lighting & other gear. I just added a second camera & have been buying & upgrading equipment & your videos have really been helpful. For the past month as I've been upgrading, all I have been doing is watching other streamers, podcasters & content creators informational videos & advice. I just want to say thank you & hope you know these videos are helping people like me.

This is an awesome guide! I just bought a Sony ZV-1 as a starter camera and this is a great guide for me to go back to when I inevitably forget how the settings work. Regarding mic settings, I would love to see a video about that! I'm using Saramonic Blink 500 Pro wireless lavalier mics, and knowing how I should set the gain on the mic, vs volume on the camera, vs what it should look like when it hits post (Davinci Resolve for me) would be extremely helpful to eliminate hiss and external sounds from degrading my audio quality. I think having that as a baseline would be great to then push me towards other tutorials around EQ.

Please yes do a mic basics like this one! I feel that these infos about the camera can "easily" be found on the internet (although your explanation was awesome) or with a introductive photography course. But it's much more difficult to find a microphone basic course!

First of all, you're dreamy, second of all, you're my go-to for learning all of the streaming and gadget knowledge, thanks for making it easy to understand. I'm gearing up to stream on twitch and UA-cam soon but I want to be super ready first. I'm a burlesque performer but also a pinup photographer and visual artist / graphic designer. I'd like to do ASMR watercolor painting streams. I'm definitely overwhelmed for sure and kind of starting from scratch here on UA-cam since I lost my main account with a lot more subscribers than here when google took over. So that's been a challenge but, you have definitely inspired me and I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to being able to start with all the knowledge you've given. I need two cameras, I have a GoPro Hero 8 Black but it doesn't stream in 4K and I need a second camera, one on me and one on my art, I'm thinking of a mirrorless but it can be costly, and your girl is struggling after the pandemic. I have a very old Nikon D90 but I want to upgrade, I also know there are battery issues with overheating when using those kinds of cameras for streaming. I've gone back and forth with just getting another cheap GoPro or the elgato webcam but I think I could use a mirrorless camera more for filming and photography as well. Budget is pretty restricted so I'm here researching, what would be your number one mirrorless camera for an e-girl on a budget? Thank you again and enjoy Mexico!

I would add ND filter to this basics for beginners only because the Sony ZV-1 has it built in and with that camera the images are still blown out without using the ND filter. Also there might be a misconception that you can get that crispy blurry background in bright light which you won't be able to without a ND filter. With a good variable ND Filter you would be able to leave your camera settings the same in all light conditions, or at least with minimal changes.
I use a ZV1 for both stop motion photos, studio videos, and outdoor family videos/photos, so being able to know the manual settings and being able to switch between them is important. Sometimes using Shutter priority is also useful too when in a situation where lighting is continuously changing while recording video.

Hey I have a suggestion for a video. Currently running a 2 PC set up. I play guitar during streams and I'm having sync issues, and issues with things not sounding what I'm hearing while i'm recording then when i hear what did sounds weak or washed out. I've been messing around with EQ's. I feel like i need to start from the ground up again for basic sound.

There are a few more important things to know about the 180° shutter rule (when your shutter speed is half the frame rate).
The 180° shutter rule is a rule of thumb to get natural looking motion blur. It gets it's name from film cameras which had a spinning disc as a shutter, there would be a hole in it to let light through to the film, and block it for the rest of the frame time (and to allow for the film to advance in total darkness). the angle covered by this hole is called the shutter angle, so a 180° shutter angle would let light through to the film for about half of the frame time.
at 30 FPS, the frame time is 1/30th of a second so a 180° shutter corresponds to 1/60th of a second, and that shutter speed gives roughly natural looking motion blur. There are however two problems:
    1) It doesn't work above 30 FPS. At 48 or 60 FPS, you would need a 360° shutter angle to achieve the same motion blur, and anything above that is not capable of a shutter speed long enough to capture natural looking motion blur.
    2) You might not want realistic motion blur anyways. In fast actions scenes, for example, the motion blur may be "more realistic" but it's at the cost of motion clarity. You won't be able to see the fast action as clearly because of the motion blur. Or you could want very little motion blur to create an "unrealistic" look, to make it feel like your movie is in a game or a simulation or an alternate reality or whatever.
The 180° rule is just a rule of thumb, there is nothing wrong with ignoring it entirely. It's up to you to decide weather it gives you a look you're happy with or if you want a different look from a different shutter speed.
