Squeegees are for wet application. Cardboard, rare arcade PCBs and liquids don't mix well. Proper hand smoothing from inside outward should be sufficient.
That looks really great! I didn't think you could get any working boards anymore. It's so nice to see them in good hands :) BTW you can spray paint boxes very well if brown isn't your color of choice ^^ Thanks for the video and keeping yours and our spirits high in these hard times. Greetings from Germany
Really enjoying the arcade sort of stuff, I’ve recently been looking into it and it’s great to see one of my favourite UA-camrs covering this sort of stuff.
This is called Curating your Collection. Making sure things are repaired, functional, clean, and properly documented and labelled. I went through my Atari 2600 cartridges fairly recently to check for loose labels as well as damaged or missing labels and found scans to print on glossy paper and restuck them with Q-tips dipped in E6000 adhesive.
I dig the antistatic pink foam and black conductive boxes. Careful with the brown boxes though. Some regular boxes that are glued together can cause cadmium bloom on old plated connectors. The glue outgasses and corrodes the plating. Really dangerous cause the cadmium comes off as white dust that can poison you. This may not apply to this video since I’m pretty sure the ones you’re using here are folded, but seeing as you collect old electronic hardware, I think the information is useful to you. Collecting/working on old hardware can be a bit dangerous lol. Brown boxes are probably ok since these old boards aren’t too static sensitive, but they don’t dissipate ESD like the black boxes can. The black is carbon ink and the box forms a Faraday cage when closed.
(2:00) It's like that running gag of young Alasdair Gillies trying to open a chocolate bar, which consists almost entirely of foil wrapper. ( _You Can't Do That on Television,_ s3, e33 "Rip-Offs", 1982 )
Only reason I don't have a cabinet is space and after many years I accepted that, but you keep pushing me towards the edge man. I will buy one in the end even if I end up sharing my bed with it.
It’s hard to find PCB’s that still works because Capcom and Konami went with the kill battery. But Midway has the games on a hard drive and some on RAM. Good luck on finding The Simpsons arcade PCB and the X-Men PCB.
Average person: emulate the games Fan: get the SNES/NEOGEO cartridges Superfan: get an arcade unit with one or multiple games Clint: original freaking PCB's
Been trying to find the name of a vertical shooter for ages now. As best i recall, it involved planes that could turn into robots, much like macross/robotech, but was not related to that universe at all as best i recall. I think the transformation was triggered by a third button alongside the trigger and "bomb" button.
"Time is meaningless" indeed. Ever since this whole pandemic and the shelter-in-place orders started, my sense of time has gotten knocked out of whack.
I noticed that you have pink foam in the ESD boxes for your PCBs. If your goal is long-term preservation, this is not adequate protection, as pink foam is anti-static foam intended for short-term use that will degrade over time. You should look into getting black/gray dissipative foam instead and/or silver static dissipative bags. If you search for anti-static vs dissipative foam there's a nice post on Electronics Stackexchange from someone who decided to research this in more detail than I am familiar with.
For the small print, probably could have made it the same width as the others and fill in the extra space by copying the bluish gradient and blending seamlessly. As-is, that would mess with my non-diagnosed OCD so much, being a different size! Haha. It's the thought that counts though, so kudos to him. :-)
The marquees are awesome! But what’s got me most curious is that IBM NetVista in the background. A Pentium 4 and Win98? I didn’t think the two ever shipped together in any retail computer configuration.
0:21 Thank you I am visiting from Forty years in the Future, great to see a Great channel still going strong even in 2060 after your death. It was ironic how you died in a Automotive crash with a truck carrying packing peanuts. The coroner said you were so well packed, they just buried you like that. xD
I hope these were not expensive because you can go to any printing store and get this results in vinyl yoursel, 5 or 6 on an A4. Which costs about 2 or 3 bucks per page.
If they made a modern version of the Raiden project with every single game up to Raiden V plus the Raiden Fighters Aces game for $20-30 i would be all over it.
Hey hoss, I believe you are in north Carolina. There is a place in Greensboro called 'Boxcar'. It right up your alley, it's a bar and arcade. Let me know what you think of it. They have the Simpson arcade game.
How the hell did you manage to stick all of the labels on them evenly without first measuring sizes and whatnot? Some trickery going on or is your sense of proportion just that good?
Is there some kind of "jamma switcher" you can install on a multi-pcb setup of sorts? That would be pretty convenient for a home cabinet but I know nothing about cab stuff...
it should be possible to make one using a bunch of bus transceivers, like how the Nintendo M82 works. alternativley you could make it 100% passive by routing all the traces to the left side of a set of ram connectors, with an output bus on the right, then have a "patch card" you move around to connect one of the input buses to the output bus

I love going back to those old LGR videos from 40 years ago. Everything seemed so nice before the war.
You could talk about dry paint and I'd still be entertained, awesome work
This is an LGR Blerb about wet paint, today we’re going to be watching it dry and helping the process speed up a bit.
Heck yeah dude.
"Welcome to an LGR ASMR thing."
Now now Clint, you are an expert at printing hot dogs....
he was baiting
Man! Clint's precision to stick those stickers though, respect!
My 5 year old really enjoyed watching a grown man putting stickers on some boxes :)
Birds are happy, Clint is happy, dymo tags are indestructible... The world is a wonderful place to live.

Clint, people will almost certainly be watching these videos 40 years from now. Whenever now may be. #timeismeaningless
Judging by the speed of time lately, that would be... this December?
I love your enthusiasm for the little things. 😁
I could totally smell the smell of fresh vinyl stickers watching this.
Nothing like the fresh smell of vinyl stickers in the morning. :")

Really like the idea. Looks sharp with the marquees.
OMG Rush'n Attack! I used to have that on my old XT! Played the crap out of that game back in the day, in all its CGA glory!
The Raiden game I remember most from my childhood was the spin-off, "Viper Phase 1".

im jealous of your ability to put stickers on free hand, in one try.
