    Still relatively new to metal detecting, started out with a Bounty Hunter lone star pro. Huned with it for a year, just sold it and picked up the Simplex. I have watched a ton of videos, and this is hands down the best tutorial I've come across. Thank you for this information.

    • @BirdDogg

      I honestly haven’t tried it. What I will say about all of the coils other than the stock coils is that they seems to be made of a heavier plastic. They are not heavier all together but it is a different material. With that said for me either the stock coil or the sp24 are my go to’s

    Excellent vid! I just got mine today with the 11” and SP24 coil but I’m not clear about when and why I should use one or the other lol, your expertise would be awesome, thanks!

    • @BirdDogg
      @BirdDogg  2 роки тому +1

      Use the larger coil in situations where you want depth and there are not a million signals. Use the smaller coil in spots where there a lot of signals and you want to separate those signals. The smaller coil will pick out good signals next to bad ones easier than the larger coil, the larger coil gives more depth

    • @StargazerFS128
      @StargazerFS128 2 роки тому

      @@BirdDogg ah ok, so smaller coil is more precise at separating targets, so if you were to search fresh water beaches like Great Lakes where I live I guess either one will do but when you say the larger gets down deeper, like a lot deeper? would you be afraid of loosing targets on a beach with smaller coil? thanks.

    • @BirdDogg
      @BirdDogg  2 роки тому +1

      @@StargazerFS128 I don’t do a lot on the beach, but in the water I use a small coil(less resistance against water and better separation where I am hunting) I would guess on the beach bigger would be better(although because beaches can be highly mineralized you may have to turn your power down to achieve stable performance without a lot of ground noise)

Usually me playing music or commenting on current events etc. I am looking at a way to keep those videos available though for folks who are interested in seeing them after the fact. Destructing a creation is sort of cathartic at times 🤣

    I dont have a computer too do updates and it seems like a pain in the butt. Think im gonna pass on it. I might just stick with a battery powered one. They all do the same thing. They find metal, coins, jewlry and the occasional gold anyway.
