Great video. How did you know to drain the bottom allen hex bolt? Just bought a new EX250F and the manual said not to open the bottom 2 allen bolts to drain. Just performed the 1 hour oil change and refilled w/Motorex 10/50 1L. The oil level is high in the oil level sight window. Called a GasGas dealer and they said to drain the bottom allen just as you did to drain all the old oil. Otherwise refilling with 1L will over fill everytime. Some.KTM forums say never to look at the level window. Refill 1L and ride. First KTM /GasGas bike coming from Yamaha, Kawi, and Honda. Thanks
Great question! Believe it or not, we did the same thing at first. we drained the first 2 drain bolts and refilled the oil, then would see that the window viewer was wayyy over. we went straight to the pros at AEO Powersports and confirmed with the master mechanic that you should drain this bottom bolt. (at least for the SXF series of bikes) if you don't, you leave about 100cc of used oil in the case. it would definitely seem like it would need to be done on the EXF series of bikes too, just for the fact there might be used oil left over if you don't. Congratulations on the new KTM!
thanks! I recommend using gloves, as used motor oil has been declared poisonous and it's being absorbed through skin
Great Video! Thanks
