Electric bikes will never replace gas. Just like cars and trucks. It’s niche. Doesn’t work for vast majority of people. My gas chainsaw will cut 6 times as much wood as a single battery on my electric one. Then I just add gas. Simple. Battery charging sucks.

I'm not looking to get rid of my gas bike but I may add an electric bike or quad to the line up.

Who cares? Mx is a waste of time and money.

It's been going on for years it started with Orange County International Raceway then Indian Dunes then Saddleback then Ascot then Corona then Riverside International Raceway and Racetown 395 the list goes on and on and on! If you're going to put your kid on a motorcycle and a race track as a parent you are responsible for any risk and outcome not the track owner or operator. The parents of this little girl are responsible for her demise they are the ones that put her in that position they are 100% responsible.

I could definitely see it for trick riding or free style, and even in same cases motocross and supercross, but until the battery life improves and charging becomes easier and quicker it will never replace a gas bike for desert racing and enduros.i don't think it will ever take over for adventure bikes and dual sports. I can ride 45 minutes to the track, ride the track for a while, and ride home, with nothing more than a backpack, and I don't have to worry about charging if it gets low I can just stop at a gas station and pay less than 10 dollars and keep going in under a minute.

I think you hit the nail on the head. More and more tracks are gonna be completely private, pay to play almost like ski hills and shooting ranges. Ive seen similar crap already starting to happen. Soon enough our only options will be public areas and fully private tracks you have to pay exorbitant amounts to ride at.

This track has closed plenty of times just to be reopened, i used to live in elsinore that entire town lives and breathes dirtbikes i cant see it going away for a long time just till its current owners file bankruptcy and someone buys that land from the town again.

I want one but 11k is too steep. And you can't beat the pure sound of a combustion engine.

I used to think e bikes were kinda useless, but finally got a talaria earlier this year. It is ~140lbs with the battery, It did require EXT suspension which was a little $$, but I am infinitely more capable on that bike than I am on a 450 or 500 as a relatively novice enduro rider. Sure you can’t take it to the desert for a week, but I have spent an entire day sending this bike on obstacles that I’d never be able to hit on a 4 stroke. I think that as a training tool for hard enduro, having that instant torque and less weight is very valuable. It’ll never replace gas bikes, but it sure is a hell of a lot of fun.
