Hey Mixeli! I know it has been a few months since you uploaded this video, but if you see this, I was wondering. Halfway through the fight with yourself (you called it record mixing) the Battle Frontier Brain music got more intense. I was wondering where you got that version of the music from. Thanks!
Volo and N (final) are definitely my favorite fights in the entirety of Pokemon. They both feel like you are fighting to protect something. The Volo fight feels as if you are fighting for not only your life, but the lives of everyone else. The N fight feels as if you're trying to protect Unova, your home reigon, and your freedom of having and battling and just being around Pokemon. Normal Pokemon battles don't feel as serious. (I also love both of the battle themes a LOT.)
That quote, "Giratina! Strike her down!" gives me chills. When both Unova dragons duel, it is truly awesome.

Yeah With volo you’re fighting for your life, unlike battling Cynthia which at the end of the day it’s a battle for recognition, and with N you are fighting not only the strongest trainer(since he beats Alder before you) of Unova but also for the future of Unova and prolly the world, since word of it would extent to other regions causing a huge cultural debate, much like what kinda happened in Unova with those speeches.(and there’s also the representation of ideals vs truth iirc the game goes for with zekrom and Reshiram)

@@Garde_Mystik nah Volo objectively harder than anyone in a main series game cause of how the Arceus battle mechanics work. In regular pokemon you can cheese people by setting up and sweeping but there's nothing like that in Arceus cause buffs run out and even if you're slow you'll get a chance to move first eventually. Him having 6 regular pokemon (who are all p strong in their own right) and then 2 buffed Giratinas is broken not only cause of the decent AI but also because he plays the way the game works so well (most battles end up being 1-1 trades in Arceus so having 8 pokemon with 2 of them being extra tanky is broken)
@@lordtt3984 You can solo him with bulky Pokemon like Alpha Blissey or Cresselia (I've done so with Blissey before) without having to level them up. Volo's quite easy if you use fairy-types, ground-types, or any bulky Pokemon with recovery.
Edit: He's at an odd point of the game where he can't be overleveled and you have a large amount of Pokemon to find that you can have an easier time against him with.
@@Garde_Mystik That's a really good point honestly I didn't deep how weak he was to fairy types. As someone who doesn't ever replace team members once they're there, I still had a much harder time with Volo (only had 2 pokemon with dragon coverage and they weren't stab at all) than I did Cynthia. Perhaps on a second run through when I'm not so caught off guard he'll be easier

Not gonna lie but Volo’s was definitely my favorite. I mean if he’s going with Spiritomb first then that definitely proves he’s Cynthia’s Ancestor
Everyone has the realization when he sends out spiritomb and the theme starts playing
Everyone gangsta until the piano starts playing
The piano and the Spiritomb are passed for the next generation, that way they will continue to give players some PTSD

Gotta love the Toxic and Leech Seed bug/glitch in Gen 1
I like how in Heart Gold / Soul Silver, you start your gym leader journey by battling Falkner and his Pidgey and Pigeotto and you end it with Blue and his new ace being Pidgeot (which btw doesn't makes sense for the EARTH badge but makes sense when you know originally it was supposed to be the WING badge and the very first gym of Pokemon).
I always thought that Blues ace was the Jolteon when I was little because I played yellow before HG and that was his starter

I've only played the original Pokémon Gold and I thought he still used Blastoise as his ace. I looked it up though, and in Gold his ace is actually Arcanine.
Wasn't expecting Siebold, but I can say that this lends credence to my headcanon that he's the leader of the Kalos Elite Four.

I thought Cynthia was hard but she only has 6 Pokémon, Volo has 8...
And Volo doesn't have normal turns. He can attack before you react.
And then there's the Agile Style/Strong Style system, which makes that battle even more difficult.

My favorite main series battle is probably a tie between the ORAS champion battle with Steven, and the final Volo battle.
Steven because AS was my first Pokémon game, and 10 year old me was a giant dumbass, so I got destroyed many times.
Volo because it’s so well done, and the music was incredible

Gosh. My first game was Pokémon Yellow, and up till this video I had no idea you can battle Oak!
Well, it’s technically a glitch. The code of the battle is in the game which means that they once planned this to be possible, however you can’t access this fight under normal circumstances.

i love how most of these are climactic battles with important characters and the there’s only Siebold for X and Y
Honestly, I always liked the N and Volo fight, cause it makes you feel like you have to stop them, defending something. With N, your basically protecting Unova region from N and such, yet with Volo, your fighting for the sake of the world, it always was such a good feeling to feel cause it makes you feel like you have to stop them unless it won't end well
N and iris and blue have a strong Pokemon and amazing battle and themes😎
At first, I thought Wally's battle theme would be his pre-league and Gladion's would be his standard one. But these are also good.

Ok but the turn right next to Sceptile’s struggle at 1HP and seeing it incapable must have been the most stressful moments in a battle ever.
That entire battle had me stressed out.

Putting grass attacks against Metagross. Great idea. You didn' t have to switch out Magmortar. And Lucario- risky idea
I just discovered an interesting discovery for gen 1 while watching this video. If you leech seed the enemy and its HP drops to 0 from a status effect like burn or poison, the enemy still gets HP sapped from leech seed, allowing your Pokémon to regain ALL its HP. I never knew that could happen.
Indigo league and red battle theme gives me chills
The gen 4 UI might be slow af which prevents me from replaying it too much but hot damn those basslines are sweet. I could listen to the battle theme all day

Only the legends knows that the sound of the animation when volo says Giratina strike him down has the same sound of when cyrus saw giratina in pokemon platinum
So during the emerald battle in the secret base I heard a seperate mix of the frontier brain battle theme in the background alongside the ingame version. Anyone else notice that?
Mixeli likes to use different music for some battles so he tries to quiet the music you mainly hear in those kinds of battles.

What’d you think was gonna happen? Everyone in Hisui was scared of Pokémon at first. Of course they’re not gonna be as strong as you or Volo. You’re pretty much the world’s last hope
@@jordanrichardson2367 i didn’t write my comment to be directed towards the reality of the characters in Legends Arceus. I meant that, as a gaming experience, it’s rather disappointing to see that the only cutscene that seems somewhat well put together is the one where Giratina comes out from behind Volo. Seeing as how it happens right at the very end of the story in that game, it feels rather cheap. Like why didn’t they give other cutscenes in the game the same level of animation? Why are there so many black screens when “something” was supposed to be happening in front of the characters’ eyes? It just feels cheap. The whole modern Pokémon experience just feels cheap.
Or should I say “the whole _* post-modern *_ Pokémon experience? I doubt anyone really cares.

Story and its cutscenes and the gameplay, everything in this game is very good, so why would anyone care about small details like these ones? Actually there is an answer: because it's the need of complaining about something.

yeah most of the characters in arceus are the ancestors of characters in the other games
Volo's fight is harder than Cynthia's. You should try Legends Arceus tbh, I was going to give up Pokemon and this game just threw me back in
